Property's Favorite Review
Recently my wife, 4 children ages 10-13 and I all had the pleasure of spending 4 days at Siwash. We are a young and very active family that loves to be outdoors and are always brainstorming trips to engage the kids, separate from the tech world and enjoy healthy family time. Of course, to fully appreciate and enjoy the experience, my wife and I need a break from the logistics of arranging transit, activity planning and meals – no easy feat for a family of 6! Siwash achieved it all and more. Arranged airline/car transfer, fully scheduled days (you choose the activities the night before) and sumptuous multi-course meals in a comfortable setting.
The activities were right up our ally. What made them even more fulfilling was the instruction which allowed us all to better appreciate what we were doing and derive maximum enjoyment. As beginner riders we were introduced (literally) to our horses, taught to groom, saddle, mount and ride. The horses were chosen specifically for us based on size and bit on character. Fly-fishing was taught by the real McCoy’s – the resident Scotsman and Englishman. We are still not sure where the practice originated but definitely enjoyed the lesson culminating in catching 2-4lb Rainbow Trout in the on-premises lake. Shooting (22 calibre rifles, shotgun/skeet) on the range, hatchet throwing at log targets in the woods and archery complete with bullseye practice and a hunting competition (fake animals with targets) were enjoyed by all in a friendly, competitive and ultra-safe environment. Our final activity was a hike to Crater Lake. The climb down is definitely not for the faint of heart but well rewarded with an exhilarating dip in a cold pool fed by a powerful and picturesque waterfall.
Care was evident in every detail from reception, décor and service. Meals were perhaps the epitome of this diligence with perfectly set tables, friendly, knowledgeable wait-staff and amazing meals with many ingredients sourced on site. A great, casual introduction for the kids to fine dining and proper table manners!
Finally, a word about the setting is necessary as a fire ravaged the area not six years ago rendering a spectacularly unique experience to see a forest regenerate itself firsthand. This is truly a remarkable opportunity to learn about specific flora and witness nature’s power of healing. One readily appreciates the underlying rolling landscape, small bodies of water, groves of spontaneously seeded Aspens, fields of pink fireweed, clear blue sky and clean fresh air while driving to and fro the ranch but especially best while hiking or on horseback.
I got my rugged outdoors, my wife got her 5 star accommodation and the kids unanimously voted it the trip of a lifetime! Thank you Siwash, truly something for everyone.

Where to begin! What an incredible experience we had at Siwash Lake Resort. The hospitality was unlike we've ever experienced before. All of the staff are incredibly professional, fun and inviting. The food.... the FOOD!! It was so delicious, prepared by excellent chefs using local farm to table ingredients, most of which they grew themselves.
I love how committed they are to sustainability and preserving the land that they're on while enjoying it at the same time. The whole resort is run on solar panels leaving little to no environmental footprint. There was a wide variety of outdoor activities that made me feel like a kid at camp again! It was a blast to walk around learning and practicing archery, and in the same day, learning how to tack a horse followed by a long trail ride throughout the forests.
I cannot speak highly enough of the experience at this resort. It was a wonderful way to get away and connect with family which we often forget to do. If you value sustainability and disconnecting from this chaotic world for a break in the natural wilderness, this resort is for you. Thank you, Siwash, for a wonderful weekend that we won't forget!

We visited Siwash for a family trip including 3 generations and it is safe to say that everyone had the trip of their lives. The resort was devastated by wildfires a few years but has been built back to be the most unique places we have been. The serenity and beauty of the property is unmatched, the forests are full of life as they regenerate. We fished, rode horses, shot clay pigeons, hiked, floated down the rivers, did archery, ate and drank to our heats content. No details were overlooked from the 5 star riverside picnic to the home baked birthday cake they truly looked after every detail. The hillside starcamp with wood fired hot tub was a highlight for all, kids stayed up late watching the stars and drinking hot chocolate. Allyson, Marshall, Jana and team took the absolute best care of us and truly made it an unforgettable vacation.

Siwash was the perfect blend of a relaxing retreat and an exciting adventure. They had all kinds of fun activities so we got to spend some days out exploring the trails and others relaxing at the ranch.
The food is made with locally-sourced ingredients and vegetables fresh from the garden, so every meal was absolutely delicious and very fresh. They were also very accommodating for all kinds of dietary requirements. What’s even better is that the five-star food was paired with a five-star dining venue. We loved starting our day with breakfast on the deck in the sunshine and ending it with a candlelight dinner under the stars.
The horses are all very well taken care of and are lovely to ride. The guides help you learn to groom and tack up your horse before heading out for a ride through the trails. They did a great job of making sure beginner riders were comfortable and safe, while still making sure it was a fun experience for more experienced riders.
The entire experience was outstanding. The rooms were all so beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. The whole team was amazing. All the little details were taken care of to make sure our experience was unforgettable.

We had the most exceptional experience at Siwash Lake Resort this week . It was a family celebration of multiple milestones ( birthdays , anniversaries ect ) . It was a glorious week of out door activities , amazing food , reconnecting with family and enjoying how fortunate we are to live in such an amazing country . The staff , service , food and accommodations were above 5 star and I would recommend this retreat to anyone. The story of the fire of 2018 and the courage and resilience of the owners is captivating . Looking at the surroundings and seeing how nature has healed itself after a devastating fire is a surreal experience . We saw bears , deer, magnificent horses , farm animals , stars , the moon and an expansive landscape . The holiday of a life time . We can’t thank the staff enough for the privilege of being there and the amazing hospitality . Xo

Oh my goodness this truly is a spectacular family retreat ! We spent 3 nights in star camp with our family. Lying in one of the most comfortable beds anywhere looking up at the stars was an amazing treat. We felt more like family than guests by the passionate, professional, warm and welcoming staff. The horseback riding through the ranch post forest fire with the black trees against all of the new green vegetation was incredible. Highly recommend the 3-D archery and hatchet throwing ! Super fun for the entire family. I always wanted to try skeet shooting and I can now cross that off of my bucket list. With thanks to Marshall and Cole for their patience and professional guidance! Delicious food, I am still craving the smoked trout breakfast hash ! Our heart felt thanks to the entire staff for making this a truly memorable experience!!

My family and I (ages 26+) spent one week at Siwash in mid-late July 2024, and it was truly an unparalleled experience. I have nothing but glowing reviews. First off, the rugged beauty of the post-wildfire rebirth is remarkable and it was such a privilege to explore that environment in such an intimate setting. If you are an advocate for sustainability, Siwash is a wonderful place to adventure. They are a prime example that sustainability is achievable.
Each of us have different interests and were able to have personalized adventures, i.e. some spent more days horseback riding while others spent more time honing their marksmanship skills or competing for their high score in archery. The activity guides were incredibly personable and fun to work with. One of my favorite parts of the entire week was the intimate level of horsemanship. They really took the time to teach us how to interact, care for, and bond with our horse. The level of horsemanship truly outshines other luxury dude ranches we have been to.
Regarding the food, each meal was crafted beautifully with the highest quality fresh produce and was top tier. My group had several dietary restrictions, and the chef and staff were very cognizant of that. Also, each morning warm little muffins were delivered to each guest’s door which was a very nice touch.
Regarding management, Allyson and Marshall are integral in making this experience unique. They surpassed my expectations for hospitality, and truly welcomed us into their beautiful home. They, along with the entire staff, knew us on a first-name basis. Requests were met swiftly and seamlessly. Importantly, they actively sought to better the experience and responded well to feedback/suggestions (which were minimal by the way since the trip was so wonderful). Their attention to detail and providing the most enjoyable experience was remarkable. My father casually mentioned how he forgot to bring a specific game and the following day the game magically appeared. Overall, this trip will always be considered unforgettable to my family and we look forward to coming back.

Allyson and Marshall and their amazing team cover every detail to make time spent at Siwash Lake an incredible experience! Although riding the horses was a favourite part, I loved the hiking trails, the ax throwing and the shooting range, and wish we had more time for paddling on the lake, fly fishing and much more. Listening to the symphony of bird song while watching the sun rise over the hill top was an unforgettable way to start the day. The meals were absolutely exquisite in flavour and presentation with freshly harvested vegetables and salads from the ranch's own garden. At the end of the day, it was pure heaven to sink into the luxurious bed for the most blissful sleep. I will definitely return to this magnificent resort.

I spent a week at Siwash Lake with my two adult daughters. We had a wonderful time doing familiar activities (walking, riding swimming and yoga) and new activities (fly fishing, archery and shooting). It was fun, exciting but also there was plenty of time to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings and appreciate the force of nature and how it evolves and triumphs . A great destination whether travelling as a group or individually. The hosts were very attentive and with their team worked endlessly to meet all our needs and particularly our dietary requirements. Our meals were delightful creations of fresh and healthy food and the accommodation was great.

Siwash Lake is an experience that we will never forget. The beauty of the land (a hidden gem), the staff and the food (farm-to-table) was AMAZING!! Some of us stayed in the main lodge and then we also had accommodations in the loft above the barn. Every morning they would have a cold breakfast bar as well as a hot breakfast option (they would ask at dinner the night before who was interested in the hot breakfast option so they could have it prepared for that morning). They were very accommodating to any food allergies or dietary needs and tailored the meals accordingly. The entire time we were there, I never had a meal I did not like. All of the food was fresh and each meal had something on the plate that came right out of their own garden.
While we were there, we participated in a number of different activities - archery, skeet shooting, riding horses, hiking, river tubing, fly fishing, yoga, and game nights. We had the choice every day to do what we wanted and if someone wanted to do something different, they would do their best to assist with our requests. The guides / in house staff for our activities / meals, etc. were so nice, patient and just fun to be around. We got to know them on a friend level and I believe that made our experience even more enjoyable while we were there. We felt like we were a part of the Siwash family.
I give Siwash 5 Stars all the way. It is a place to go to unwind, relax, be at complete peace but also be adventurous if you want. It is a luxurious resort but it has that raw country feel to it. Overall, we truly loved the entire experience and will definitely be back soon!
