Our fourth visit to a truly stunning hotel. From arrival to departure it was pure joy. Excellent service, delicious food and the personal touches provided by the manager made our holiday very special. We are looking forward to a fifth visit.

We stayed for 8 nights in February to ski Kronplatz and the Dolomites and had a fantastic experience. Simply one of the best places we have ever stayed in. The history of the Castle/Abbey is wonderful; the rooms are spacious and comfortable with stunning views from the small hill the hotel is located on and the excellent staff give it...

One of the best hotel experiences i have had in my life, the staff is extremely attentive and the design of this grand hotel is outstanding. The food was another reason why I loved my stay so much. I can highly reccommend this hotel to everyone.

From the warm welcome, to the parting gift to help us on our onward journey this Hotel extols the highest and friendliest standards. The rooms are large and very comfortable, the food is of the highest quality and the final touch was dining to the music of the harpist last night. Apart from which is the fantastic history of the...

This 4-star hotel is in an ancient castle. And, the surroundings look like something from "Sound of Music". The staff is well-trained and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There're indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sauna, spa as well as every outdoor activity you can imagine: hiking, biking, skiing, horseback riding. I recommend booking the 3/4 board rate which...

This is really a special place--built upon and within the ruins of a century old monastery, which itself has been built upon far older ruins, some of them 4.000 years old. The owner has skillfully embedded a modern hotel with all its facilities into the remains of the monastery, e.g. using the caves in the cellar to integrated Saunas and...

The Castle Sonneburg is beautiful and unique. The hotel rooms are very nice, large with full, contemporary bathrooms. The grotto below the main floor is unique, clean, contemporary and on many levels (steps up and down to different rooms - all done well). It offers 4 different types of saunas, a lap pool and cold plunge. If you are taking...

fantastic place if you are into nature, history, art; excellent restaurant and spa facilities. Close to several places worth exploring (alpine valleys, archaeological sites, medieval castles, villages with traditional architecture) - a cultural feast.

This is an amazing hotel if you like hotels with history and an oldy worldly feel, lovely staff, an amazing location and superb food. We stayed here for a couple of nights. We had one of the old style rooms in the hotel with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. The only drawback with the hotel is no air conditioning...

Sonnenburg is an old convent and we stayed in the Äbtissinsuite. This has a wood panelled VERY historic (old and worn) living room and a quite modern bedroom and WC/shower. We would probably choose another room when we return. The views are breathtaking. Service from the proprietor himself is absolutely stunning and no question is too small for him. Meals...
