Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) was lucky enough to have visited Mugie with friends who live in Nairobi and I can honestly say, it completely exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by the whole team smiling and waving and ready to meet our every need. We really were made to feel like Royalty with Shelia and her wonderful team offering us amazing food and drinks in abundance and since we had the whole ranch to ourselves, it really felt special. The rooms were huge with amazing views reaching far out across the Conservancy, even from the bathtub! Following our sundowners in the bush we arrived back to drinks, bitings and amazing meals then off to our bedrooms where we were greeted with roaring fire and hot water bottles in our beds - bliss! Simon and our other guides were simply fabulous at getting us up close to some fabulous animals and providing all of us with the most incredible memories. We were lucky enough to see some spectacular wildlife, including but not limited to, Grevy Zebra's, giraffe, elephants, jackal, lions and many birds species. We only had two nights here as we also visited beautiful Sosian and Naivasha. However, we would have happily stayed longer and spent more time enjoying the pool, views and watching the animals visit the waterhole. My friend and I did manage to squeeze in a visit to the local Mugie school which as educationalists, was just awe inspiring. We'll certainly be supporting the wonderful initiatives here through the Moyo Foundation. One of the main advantages of Mugie is how peaceful it is. Our friends chose to take us here to give us a unique safari experience without hoards of other tourists and we really didn't see any other safari jeeps the whole time, we literally had the whole place to ourselves - amazing. It's one of those places you want to tell everyone about but actually, don't want to spoil it so should really keep it to yourselves! Special thanks to all of the wonderful staff especially Shelia, Kip and Simon we really do hope to visit again one day.

I really do not think I can express in words how wonderful this place was for my family. The accommodations were stellar, the food was wonderful and the activities were magical. But far and away the best part of staying at Mugie House was the staff. The entire staff, from the guides to the house staff were friendly and completely dedicated to making this trip perfect for us. In particular, I was extremely impressed with how well they interacted with my 2 special needs children, who are 6 & 7. The staff were the sweetest and most patient people I had ever seen. My 6 year old is autistic, and while high functioning, he often has trouble connecting with people. But within a day, all he could talk about was our guide, Simon with the Red Shoes (which is what he called him). My 7 year old daughter, who has emotional issues due to trauma and also has trouble connecting with people, bawled when we had to leave as she had fallen in love with all of the staff members. The staff’s excellent interaction with my kids helped my husband and I relax as well as we always knew that there were always a half dozen other sets of eyes around to gladly help us keep an eye on the kids and to keep them entertained. The staff was great for the rest of us as well. Always attentive and tuned into what we needed. My teenage children also had a great time because of the staff. While every place we stayed at on our trip had something special about it, this was hands down our favorite place to stay. I would recommend it to friends, family and to you if you are considering staying here. I promise, you will not be sorry.

We could not have been better looked after at Mugie House. Sheila and her team made sure that from the moment we arrived we were brilliantly looked after. Teas and lunches overlooking the breathtaking views of Laikipia were just heavenly. Our room had the same amazing view and was very comfortable, with masses of space, a huge bed and an enormous bathroom. The fire was lit and crackling away when we came back from our evening game drive ready for us to have a hot bath and a delicious super. Our guides were Danson and Wambogo who found us lions, elephants, giraffe and all sorts of other game despite the challenge of a lush bush following plenty of rain. We loved our stay at Mugie and hope to come back soon.

Located within the greater Mugie Ranch, Mugie House is truly a little treasure on a hill overlooking the rolling plains of Laikipia and the majestic Mt. Kenya on the far horizon. Only one and half hours flight or five hours drive from Nairobi, this gem is a spectacle! Excellent services, great food and wonderful staff. The 6 cottages are uniquely designed with large glass windows to enable panoramic views of the wilderness. The solar-heated infinity pool is worth a dip on a hot day, read a book from their wide collections, wildlife is abundant and game drives are rewarding. Kayaking on the lake with elephants swimming-by, amazing! Golfing....yes a 9-hole golf course in the bush with pro caddies. Enjoy the sun go down over the rolling plains of Laikipia as you sip your favourite drink! You may wish to visit the school while in session or the cattle boma and crush on saturday's and learn about their successful wildlife-cattle ranching. I highly recommend Mugie House to anyone looking for a perfect hideaway from the usual holiday destination, someone looking for a unique lifetime experience altogether.

My wife and I stayed at Mugie for our wedding anniversary and her birthday. It was a wonderful time and greatly enjoyed by both of us. The staff were exceptional, particularly Solomon, our guide, and Sheila, the manager and they could not have done any more to make our visit any better. The early morning game drives allowed us to see many animals including two lion prides, a cheetah, many elephants and a wide variety of game and birds. We have visited many of the wildlife parks in Kenya and this visit will remain with us for a long time.
