Detailed Reviews
As soon as you arrive ,you feel at home. The house is wonderfully welcoming, warm and cosy. The rooms are very clean , comfortable and stunning views. Delicious, freshly baked, home made cakes and pastries for brerakfast. Every day a different yummy selection and served with home made delicious jams. The hosts, are so wonderfully friendly and helpful and make your stay super special. Enjoy their Scandanavian hot tub on the terrace with some prosecco and what a better way to round off your day surrounded by the mountains. Roberto and Elena couldn't have been more flexible with lifts to the ski lifts and booking amazing restaurants . Couldn't recommend staying here more highly. Thank you again Roberto and Elena and see you again very soon

There isn't much I can add to what has been already written in all the invariably enthusiastic reviews about Tre Alberi Liberi.
I went there for a week with a family party of 10 - including 4 children - and we occupied 4 of the 5 large, stylishly furnished, very clean (etc. etc., you see what I mean) rooms in this beautiful house. Despite the numbers of our party and all our dietary restrictions, everything was impeccable: succulent breakfasts (your cake has been freshly baked by your landlady; your egg just laid by one of her hens - need I say more?), excellent rooms (and bathrooms, and linen, and toiletries), great advice from both owners. And so forth.
The four kids in our party, aged between 8 and 11, particularly appreciated the big, well kept garden-and-playground, they even played with the owners' daughters (really, a lovely bunch).
By the way, do take Elena's advice also on restaurants in nearby Alagna - and follow it: la Marmotta e la Montagna di Luce were very, very good. Unione, which she had frowned upon, was a _big_ mistake (indifferent food, service from hell and by far the steepest bill of the week).
----------
Cherry on the cake? About 20 metres away from the B&B, on the lovely village square, there is a cool bar serving mean cocktails. In Riva Valdobbia - va savoir pourquoi!

I agree with all the words of praise for Elena, Roberto, their beautiful B&B, their mouth-watering breakfasts, and their overall fantastic hospitality.
I'll just add that the location in Riva Valdobbia has one additional advantage: you wake up in the morning, open the window, and there you have the Monte Rosa staring at you in all its grandeur. Nearby Alagna is too much at the foot of the hill and doesn't let you have that view.
A great vacation, a fabulous place. Highly recommended!

We spent just over a week with Roberto and Elena (and have also stayed for long weekends in the past). The house is a lovely old building that has been beautifully renovated by the owners over some 5 floors. We had the "Salice" room at the top of the house which is very spacious with incredible old beams, a generous bed and modern bathroom with jacuzzi bath - you even have an uninterrupted view of the Monte Rosa from the bathroom window. The toiletries provided are also of high quality and where possible, are ethically produced and sourced; all linen etc is immaculate , regularly changed and well looked after.
Elena serves the finest breakfast I have eaten in Italy (in their grand, high-ceiling dining room) with home - made pastries and cakes, fruit salad, muesli, fresh bread, ham, local cheese and boiled eggs on request - all of which is organic. She also has great coffee which makes it even more difficult to get up from in front of the open fire that will likely be crackling away during breakfast if you're staying in the Winter.
The B&B is located a 5 minute drive from Alagna in Riva Valdobbia, a very quaint village with a beautiful church adorned with great exterior frescoes. If you don't have a car there is a bus at weekends to take you to Alagna which leaves fairly regularly from the church square just outside the house (although this may only run in the Winter). There is also a very popular and quirky bar opposite the house which is good fun and the most lively in Alagna/Riva, particularly on the weekends .
Roberto is a mountain guide and very well known locally; we spent four days with him and did some fantastic skiing . He always seems to find the best, untouched snow, is great company on the mountain and will adapt a day to suit your ability, the conditions and how energetic you are feeling. There is also the option of heli-skiing and with a range of enormous peaks to choose from offering long, uninterrupted descents, it is one of the best areas in Europe to give this a try.
All round a fantasitc B&B run by a very warm and welcoming couple for whom nothing is too much trouble - they are exceptional hosts. Thoroughly recommended.

Would recommend tre alberi liberi to anyone! We stayed here with our three kids over easter and were exceptionally well taken care of! Newbaked cakes everyday for breakfast, what a treat! Elena also made sure that I was not left out even if I'm allergic to gluten, what a service! We'll be back!

I really enjoyed my stay at the b&b Tre Alberi Liberi. I was alone with two kids but everything resulted easy and pleasant thanks to the excellent organization of this B&B and the kindness of its owners. Great breakfast with home-made cakes and cookies, rich and fresh buffet, large confortable rooms with view on Monte Rosa (at least mine) and jacuzzi. Very nice and quiet village.

Tre Alberi Liberi is set in the most spectacular location in the Italian Alps. Roberto and Elena (the owners) are super friendly. The house has been in the family for many generations and has been updated in a very stylish manner. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and really well looked after. The area is great for skiing and Roberto is also a ski guide (heli skiing is amazing here). Forget the motorway service stations in the French Alp resorts - this area is a lot more personal with beautiful buildings set in the mountains. A simply stunning place and a lovely family.

Honestly one of the most charming, comforting and welcoming place that we have ever stayed in ... happy to return year after year ... don't be put off that not in Alagna itself as the hosts make sure that that it is never any trouble taking you the 5mins down the road to alagna at any time of day plus there is a free bus that also takes you there ... the breakfast is to die for by the open fire every morning and extras such at the sauna and relaxing room are always a welcome site at the end of a days skiing... thank you Elena and Robbie for yet another fabulous holiday x

Had an excellent stay at Tres Alberi Liberi. Rooms were clean, well appointed, and with gorgeous views. Included breadfast was excellent - all home made. There is a spa in the basement with sauna, tub, shower, and space to relax which was all really wonderful. The town is stunningly beautiful, with great places to hike. Our host at the B&B was extraordinary. Overall a great place to visit and stay.
