We stayed for a week pool side very enjoyable. after reading a couple of reviews we were unsure what 2 expect but we're pleasantly surprised rooms great spotless. staff great. food very nice we ate out 3 out of 7 evening meals but only out of choice.the only let down was the drinks. there was entertainment on 3 nites hardly any music in the day we took a Bluetooth speaker it was great.there are alot of restaurants in the area some have entertainment on you have to have a walk round to find out what's on.we also done the fun bus 7 villages that was great book tickets 5 mins out of hotel on the left also went into chania twice old town that was stunning once in taxi £34 euro's RTN and once on the bus £6.40 RTN for 2 that was easy we went in morning on the bus as quieter.the beach side is nice as a breeze but have to be early to get beds beach is nice also. so had a great time overall.

Just returned from 10 days here Had a very relaxing time Exceptional cleanliness throughout Friendly helpful staff, especially reception staff and Vera in the restaurant was so hardworking and a great asset to the hotel Could get a sunbed at any time of day Pools great Food very good especially Asian night Rooms spacious and immaculate with large balcony and airer 35 mins from airport Lots of restaurants and supermarkets outside hotel and also a nice crazy golf and small amusements just next door but not a lot else Safe in room extra cost which is usually free on other all Incusives I've been to No animation team or entertainment so eves can be very quiet ,so take cards or games to play. There were Greek dancers 1 night and singers on 2 other nights but that's it To summarise we had a very relaxing enjoyable holiday in an immaculately clean hotel I probably wouldn't return purely due to lack of entertainment and not much to.do outside of hotel

We stayed in the iolida star part of the hotel all inclusive What really made this holiday was the staff , they were amazing and made us feel special , restaurant staff cleared tables fast , made sure we had drinks and always welcomed us each mealtime Thanasis and Vera were amazing , such hard working team members who had a smile each day to greet us, thank you ! There are two restaurants - iolida star side is where you have breakfast and dinner , lunch is served in the beachfront restaurant Snacks like fries , chicken nuggets and ice creams are available in the afternoon on the beach side restaurant a pool bar is on the iolida side which is open for drinks until 5pm The food was good , lots of salad , various meals each night , bread and lots of desserts , the only thing I would say as a vegetarian it would of been nice for a couple more options. We didn’t see much of our TUI rep , he comes for around half hour some days but reception staff helped with everything , they called us cabs , helped us with trips and always said hi as we walked by . Cleaners were really friendly , cleaned daily and were really quick , couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the room , and the towel animals were a lovely touch each day . We had an apartment for 4 of us and they were spacious . We stayed in room 1202 , it looked out over the iolida star pool , perfect for popping back to the room when we forgot something. No sunbed dash , we generally got beds at 9 ish after breakfast , there are two pools , on the iolida star side there is a quieter pool area - on the beach side there is a life guard with a larger and smaller pool area which was a bit busier , this pool is right next to the beach. Pool was clean , you can use inflatables and although we went in the busy summer holidays it wasn’t too busy . Everyone leaves their inflatables out as they leave so we didn’t have to buy any , there were Lilo’s, rings, buckets and spades etc to use. Book area too We travelled with young adults and to their delight the WIFI was really good There isn’t really much entertainment so we went out every evening then came back for cocktails at the bar which was lovely looking out on the beach. We’re not a huge family of drinkers but we liked the cocktails and beer. Platanias and Chania have so many restaurants and places to drink, easy to get to both on the bus which runs every 20 minutes from the Alexandra hotel on the same road or a taxi is 16 euros to Chania The little fun train has lots of trips and that’s a couple of minutes walk from the hotel We went to Sebastians for an evening of entertainment , one man singing act , it was hilarious , really good evening The hotel is right on the beach , there are so many places to sit along the beach if you wanted too , there are water sports like jet skis, paddle boarding , kayaks and an inflatable sofa which was so fun The only thing we would of liked is maybe a bit of music by the pool , but can’t really complain about anything . The bridge across the hotels has quite a few steps and the road is very busy to cross , if I had young children I wouldn’t cross the road as it would be difficult We arrived late and staff helped us carry our suitcases to the room , also they left fruit and sandwiches in the fridge in the room because we missed dinner If you go on day trips they will make sandwiches to take with you if you all inclusive Supermarket is close for snacks if needed We had a fab holiday which is due to the friendly staff at this hotel

We booked to stay here through Tui and upon arrival we were extremely disappointed as we were expecting to stay in a beach front hotel and have a quiet room with a sea view as requested and advertised. The reception staff informed us that there was absolutely no possibility of this as the 'beach' part of this hotel is owned by a Scandinavian company and all Tui guests stayed across the road in the other building. When we saw the room we had been allocated, my holiday went downhill even further. As well requesting a beach front hotel with a sea view room, I had also requested a quiet location and found ourselves next to the pool, on a major walk through, in a dingy and dark location. You could hear everyone walking past and no privacy could be had, due to the fact everyone had to walk past our bedroom windows, several times a day. I immediately went to reception and they said they would look at moving us in a day or two as all the rooms were taken at that time. I also called Tui and requested that they give me a different room or hotel, a beach front one as that's what we had paid for. Although polite, the girl was no help what's so ever and her only suggestion was she would ring the hotel and couldn't guarantee that anything could be done. She informed me that my rep wasn't available to help as they have a schedule. I then contacted Tui on the live chat and once again, found them useless. I got a reply the following day, informing me that I requested a one bedroom apartment and that's what I got! Disgraceful service from Tui. Our rep never once came to find us to see if our situation had been resolved and when we did see him the once, all he was interested in was selling us trips. However, the hotel had stuck to their word and found us a different room and we moved the next lunch time. This room was great. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff throughout the hotel are amazing, every single one of them. The reception, cleaning, bar and those in the dining room are polite, friendly and really do want you to have an enjoyable holiday. The pool areas are clean and to our surprise, sunbeds available even late morning. The beach was more difficult to get a sunbed if you arrived later as the space was limited, but as they are all chargeable, we got some just a short distance away and could easily access the hotels facilities. The food was good, lots of variety and well presented. There was a variety of drinks available on the all inclusive, including cocktails. The location is great, close to bars, restaurants, entertainment, bus stops and water sports on the beach, which is soft and sandy and shelves gently into the sea. The entertainment was low key, with live acts on three times a week, which we liked although it may be a bit too quiet for some. There are two very separate sites to this hotel with meals and drinks alternating between the two and a very busy road to cross or metal steps to climb. Neither great for young children. In a nutshell this is a nice hotel, certainly not the 4 star beach hotel Tui would have you believing when taking your money as they cannot sell you the 'beach' part, it's very misleading in the write up they give it . The staff however are 5 star and because of the experience they gave us, I would stay here again, but next time I would be extremely careful with the room that I requested! And I probably won't be booking with Tui

We spent 4 days in the resort for a family vacation (3 rooms - 5 adults, 2 kids). The resort is split to 2 parts - Section 1 in which we stayed, across the road from the reception, also includes the bigger pool and the breakfast/dinner restaurant. Section 2 on the side of the beach, includes a pool, access to the beach and the lunch restaurant. The suites were large, I had a bedroom and a living room, and access to a balcony from both rooms with a small patch of grass and sunbeds. We passed via the balconies to each other's rooms :-) At least in section 1 the rooms and floors are on a terrace, so you may need to climb some stairs after exiting the elevator. There is a toilet and a shower, my only issue was that the water draining was from the floor and not the shower so the room can get slippery. There's also a small kitchen, with a sink, electric stove, small fridge, and electric appliances. Service - The staff was kind and helpful, my niece needed medical care and they were most helpful with getting us to the hospital, we arrived from the airport at 2 AM so they left some snacks for us in the rooms. Pools - Both sides have pools including a kids pool, toys and floaters are left for kids (and adults), the pools were clean. The kids pool on section 1 is shallower so my 2yo niece could stand in it. My 6yo nephew liked the kids pool in section 2 more. In section 1 there's also a playground for kids. Umbrellas are available but beds in the shade are taken quite early, in the water at least in August there's shade until noon, from noon to later the sun is direct. Food - All meals included a salad bar, prepared salads and fruit selection. Everything has a note describing what's inside in case you have a restrictive diet. There were some really excellent dishes like beef with Israeli couscous. My 6yo nephew is a peeky eater, but was mostly happy with the meal selection - he mostly had pasta, chicken, vegetables and fruits. 3 issues I had with the food - Some of the dishes were very salty (every day there was at least 1 really salty dish). Some of the descriptions were vague - Like "kebab" which after asking turns out to include lamb and pork (which we do not eat). Names of greek dishes with no explanation for non-greeks (unless you ask). Beach - You can go to the beach from the pool, there's also a shower and hose to wash the sand off you. The beach is 5-10 meters wide, with toys for kids in the sand. Some sundbed and umbrellas. The water was about knee high for an adult for about 10-15 meters in to the water. The beach and water are clean.

We stayed at the lolida (road side) hotel for 14 days, (all inclusive) it’s was a lovely 2 weeks. Firstly the staff can not do enough for you, from the maids to the bar/waitresses. A special mention to Vera and Dimitri who went above and beyond to make our stay a special one. Our tui rep was nowhere to be seen the first few days so the reception team sorted out a few trips for us, which was easy and no dearer than tui as they use the local tours guides. There were 2 lovely pools either side of the hotel, the beach side was obviously a lot busier than the road side one, but could always get a bed at 8am which was nice change as other holidays would have to be up at 6am!!! The food was nice, catered for all tastes but could get repetitive after a while but we ate out a few times which is a must as the food in the local restaurants is amazing! Drinks were your typical all inclusive and there was tea and coffee available all day. There was also ice cream for the kids. The hotel is set right on a beach were you could walk for miles and see turtles nests. The hotel sits between Chania and Platanias, so you can jump on the bus for a few euros either way. The hotel was kept spotlessly clean, but could do with a few little things tidying up( pool tiles cracked, broken unit in bathroom and broken bar stool at swim up bar). The only negative is there is literally no entrainment day or night apart from 3 evenings for a few hours. Even just more back ground music would of made a difference( think I heard it twice over 2 weeks). If they did this it would make such a difference to a lovely, friendly hotel, who go out of there way to make your holiday enjoyable as possible.

Nice hotel but could be better! POSITIVES: very clean everywhere, rooms are spacious and spotless (roadside "Star" Hotel). Variety of food very good. Very close to beach which can be accessed via the back of the hotel. Close to shops and bars or a short bus ride to next resort. NEGATIVES: Food at times only luke warm, drinks on all inclusive taste the same. Have to keep switching between hotels to eat. No bar in the "Star hotel" after 5pm and all inclusive finishes at 11pm. There is a charge for pizza and coffees, other than machine filter coffee. No entertainment or music at either hotel at night or during the day. Balls and inflatables should be limited in the pool, if your hoping for a swim forget it, there is no room to swim. Make sure your up early to be able to get a sunbed especially on the beach side hotel. There are signs telling people not to reserve the beds but nothing is said. There is a charge for sunbeds on the beach at 6 euros per day, towels for hire are 5 euros per stay, which we thought was reasonable. Safe in rooms are free. Overall had a nice holiday but not sure if we would return to this hotel. P.S: If your allocated a room on the 7th floor of the Star hotel your view is of a flat roof full of air conditioning units.

We recent came back from our 10 day stay at the road side part of the hotel. The hotel and staff were very nice and out holiday was great. The maids were fantastic and made us a new animal out of towels for our little one every day. Vera who works at the hotel was lovely and always made an effort with us. The food was great and had a large selection for all meals. The pools were always clean and so were the rooms. The rooms were lovely and spacious. The sunbeds at the beach were a decent price (6 euro for 2 beds and an umberella). The hotel was overall lovely and in a great location perfect for restaurants and bars. There were a few things we found that the hotel could improve on. Entertainment- there wasn’t any entertainment at the hotel or the beach part of the hotel. There was a Greek night once a week but that was it. At the road side of the hotel there was no poolside music. No kids entertainment or club but that wouldn’t matter to everyone. The road side of the hotel sometimes felt left out. For example, no bar past 5:30pm so you had to go to the other side. Could only get AIl inclusive ice creams from the beach side. Only poolside music at the beach side. And at night the roadside part of the hotel looks dark and closed. The spotlights at the roadside hotel were not working so walking to out room was dark- the spot lights were there but not working. Sunbeds- the hotel tells you at check in and there are signs not to reserve sun beds. We obliged to this but by day 3 we ended up putting towels down as we could never get a sun bed if we didn’t which was very annoying. All inclusive drinks could be a bit better but I guess that’s what you get. The bridge connecting the hotels has a lot of steps so just a heads up if you have a buggy you’ll need to cross the road which can be busy but we managed. Overall lovely stay and happy with everything and would go back but a few improvements would make it a 5 star.

We stayed at the road side part of the hotel for 11 nights. The hotel is lovely and the staff could not be more accommodating. There is no Tui rep, notice board or meeting at the hotel but Manos on reception will gladly give you all the information required. Dimitri who works mainly on the road side pool bar is fantastic and again will help you with anything you need including where is good to eat if you fancy venturing out. Michael and Vera were wonderful in the restaurant and couldn't do enough for you. If you want a holiday with no animation team or loud music, minimal entertainment whilst watching the jets fly past daily and are not bothered about crossing the road or bridge to get your lunch or evening drinks, this is the place for you. Must visit Chania, Manos or Dimitri will tell you the best places to go. Cactus for food, Hollyfood for amazing pasta and pizza and Ameria for drinks on the beach.
