My wife and I were hoping for a relaxing stay and we couldn't have asked for any more. The hotel is in a relatively quiet location, the rooms are huge and comfortable and the staff were helpful. We arrived after midnight but they had kindly put some food in our room. The meals were delicious and the buffet was varied, rather than the same every night. We were always able to get a space at the pool area as this is a small hotel (no kids!). We'd have no hesitation in staying again or recommending this hotel to anyone else.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We arrived late in the season expecting grumpy staff just the opposite. The manager and all the staff could not be more helpful. I was our wedding anniversary while we were there. At 6pm on the day a knock on our door we recieved champagne, a heart shaped cake and a card from the manager and his staff we we,re very moved. Adult hotel which was very peaceful thank you Santa Marina Plaza we will be back 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
My sea view room was not available on arrival. I was given a pool view room for 2 nights, and a voucher for a free massage. The hotel is really lovely, and the view from my sea view room beautiful. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the two girls who ran reception. They thought nothing of accompanying you to your room personally if there were any problems there. The food was pretty good, although I was understandably a bit bored with it at the end of two weeks. I would have returned to this hotel if it was in a different location. Although there were lots of supermarkets, shops and busy tavernas, there were very few bars within walking distance of the hotel. I like to have a little walk and a cocktail after dinner in the evenings, but it proved difficult here. Perhaps the answer would be to go B&B next time. Overall a great hotel.…
A few things, as in all hotels, are missing. 1.--- Stool in the bathroom to use by people having bad backs. May be small and of cheap material, plastic etc. 2.--- Fridge will be more effective if you remove the back in the small room it is placed. The heat produced by the fridges motor will then escape, and the fridge need not "fight" against the outside heat. 3.--- Missing pegs to hang towels and other necessary items missing in the bathroom. So a few things special for this hotel. 4.--- Air-condition marked on +16.C did not work properly in room no.319 (Junior suite), and we had to have the veranda door open during the night to be able to sleep. 5.--- Hand-held card readers for the servants around the pool. Many Norwegians an other Scandinavians newer use cash. Time saving and more happy customers gives increased sale.…
This hotel has everything you need - clean room , air condition, sea view, pool , good food , sandy beach , bar with sea view , fitness room , massage, great stuff who are always there to help if you need anything. Highly recommend .
Just returned from a one week stay at this lovely hotel, it was a return visit. It’s so clean and spotless, had a beach front room, which was very spacious. Took a bus to Chania a couple of times, the stop is right outside the hotel. Entertainment a few nights was really good. I must mention Dorothea and Nicky who work so hard and nothing is too much trouble for them. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon.
We stayed 1 week at this great hotel - next time we’ll stay 2 weeks! The hotel is in an ideal position, close to a sandy beach, shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Without doubt the greatest asset this hotel has is its staff. The most helpful and happy staff we have come across anywhere in our travels. Our very comfortable room had a wonderful view of the pool, beach and sea. Breakfast - very good choice and fresh omelettes cooked for you on request. A good hotel has good management and this is evident in this hotel - thank you Alexander and his team - Reception, bar staff, waiting staff, cleaners, everyone gave personal and excellent customer service. We are looking forward to returning for another wonderful holiday.
My boyfriend and I stayed with Santa Marina Plaza for a week in April. It was our first time in Crete and we were very positively surprised. Beautiful place, great food, amazing staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful. We would highly recommend anyone to choose this hotel when going to Chania. Thank you so much!
Really nice hotel with spacious bedrooms and quality fittings, although the glass door into the bathroom is heavy to open/close. Good air conditioning in the room. Well maintained public area's, decent size pool. Sandy beach with sunbeds not too close to each other. Plenty of choice & quantities to eat at breakfast & dinner. Buffet style food to suit all tastes. Staff friendly & helpful. Nothing too much trouble for the Manager. We had a bottle of wine & pastries in our extra large room on arrival, which is a nice touch.. Despite this being a lovely hotel it is in a very urban area with lots of hotels & music that can be heard at times from surrounding bars, so may not suit everyone. 20/25 mins to Chania town on a busy main road
This was our first 2 week summer holiday away without the children so we were looking for somewhere that we could simply relax and enjoy the sunshine. We made a list of what would be ideal :- By a sandy beach, Must have a pool preferably with bar, Good choice of food, Nearby places to explore, Clean air conditioned room and hopefully Friendly helpful staff. This hotel ticked all the boxes. Our experience left us more than satisfied, we paid extra for the beach front room and rented a car as we like our independence and wanted to explore the island. The hotel manager listened to the sort of places we would like to visit and gave us a list of his own personal recommendations, we visited and enjoyed all of them.
