In combination with the large swimming pool and kids pool area makes it ideal for families. We returned from a week at the Epis hotel last Saturday (24.09.22). It is in a great location with so many restaurants nearby it was hard to choose where to eat! You walk out of the hotel and can turn left or right to a street full of shops, bars and restaurants but it is not a noisy place. I would say it is most suited to middle aged couples and families. We didn't see any nightclubs but then we weren't looking for them. Right across the road is the little train stop where you can book trips. The beach is a 5 minute walk and most of the sunbeds can be used by buying a drink at the restaurant or we paid 5 euros each for a sunbed with a lovely thick cushion. If you turn right out of the hotel and walk down until you reach a garage on the corner and turn right there you will find some lovely restaurants which we found thanks to somebody else's review. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean; the cleaners worked tirelessly from early morning to mid afternoon and were always happy. The room had a kettle, toaster, fridge and a 2 ring hob so although it was self catering and absolutely fine for us it would be difficult to make a full meal for a family. Air conditioning and wifi was free. The pool area was quiet and we never had a problem getting a sun lounger but we were slightly out of season. All the staff were happy and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would absolutely recommend it.

All was perfect! Location, room, staff, I have no words! Rapid check-in, easy to access our room (Superior double, pool view - bonus a little sea view). The room is very big, one king size bed and a sofa, fully equipped kitchen (fridge, toaster, water heater, electrical stove, plates etc.). Superb and big balcony with 6 chairs and a table. Room was cleaned every day, towels changed every two days. I have no complains, quiet, clean and very friendly. Thank you!

My friend and I are two girls from Denmark, who spend 1 week in Agia Marina and stayed in Epimendis hotel. Our flat consisted of 1 bedroom, 1 dining room with a small kitchen, 1 bathroom, and 2 outside sitting areas. We enjoyed to make our own breakfast and there were plenty of shops nearby the hotel witch made it easy to get groceries. It is not a 5 stars hotel, but you get good value for the money. It is a cozy hotel, with a nice pool area and a great location. If you go 5 minutes to the left you’ll reach our favorite bar Tropicano and of course much more. The best thing about the hotel was definitely the staff. Very friendly and helpful people. The lovely receptionist help us with renting a car and because of her we got a great discount. Also she help us book a boat trip. If we needed anything they were available to us. If you’re looking for a cozy and budget friendly hotel, this is the perfekt place to stay :-)

Travelled with family (2 adults and 2 teens in one room and 2 adults in another). Nice friendly welcome, with complementary drinks – always a good start to a holiday! Friendly chap at reception, who would always help if you needed to know something – he was more than happy to book a boat trip for us. Great bar staff, especially Neff, who was good company and also a useful font of knowledge of the area and Chania. Bar food was pretty good for lunch – virtually everything on the menu from the adjoining restaurant below – mezes were pretty good (probably the best dolmadakia in the area!), gyros really good, toasties, pizza, etc.! Rooms – we had a superior family room, which had an internal mezzanine floor, with a bathroom and a separate en suite shower room. Really good size. Balcony also a decent side, with nice furtniture. Very hot at the height of summer, but we sweated it out! There is air con if you want to pay for it. The cleaners came every day and changed sheets/towels every other day – again really friendly! Nice touch – there’s washing up liquid and a tea towel provided…and the kitchen did have a bottle opener! The other two members of our party had a single room apartment, which had a nice pool and was a good size for the two of them. Pool – perfect size for the apartments and nice and deep (3m at deep end). Sunbeds generally available but sometimes you had to shift things about to get them together as people followed the sun! there seemed to be an absolute glut of inflatables, so have a little look before buying any more. Beach – go across the street and 100m down a path and you’re on the beach! The beach here has a rock platform, so not great from swimming and often had a red flag flying when we were there. If you turn right and walk east you’ll eventually get to sandy beaches with plenty of sunbeds (mostly free when you buy a drink at the adjoining tavernas – we used Coral Beach Bar, where the beach was particularly nice!). Excursions – the main Little Fun Train is directly opposite and this has various trips you can do using the little road train. We did three over the two weeks – Southern Comfort (which took in the brewery, German War Cemetery and a couple of villages), Orange Valley (which takes you to an orange grove and more villages!) and the Water Park (prices are pretty much the same doing it this way compared to paying for a transfer). All were pretty good and a nice way to while away a few hours. Boat trips can be found at Platanias Harbour, which is about a 10-15min walk left out of the apartments. There also various other excursion agencies nearby. Buses – regular (every 15mins) buses to Chania from bus stop about 20m right of the apartments. Bars – the bar at the apartments was always a good start and end to the evening. Tuesday’s is karaoke, so either enjoy or beware! Kuhla was a good cocktail bar, Level Bar was also nice and friendly. Restaurants – there’s absolutely loads! There’s a lot on the main road and various tavernas on the seafront and there’s also several gems tucked away. We didn’t have a bad meal in the fortnight! A quick run down…Greco Mare on the beach, Romeo’s Family Restaurant, Las Gegas (really good!), Erontas (mezes), Kassandra (pizza, ok), Alexia – all these on or just off the main road. However, the nicest restaurants, in our view, where up in a small square slightly off the beaten track, basically turn right out of the apartments, keep going for about 1km until you get to the petrol station, turn right and head up there. First place you’ll find is Aletri, which is superb and then up in the square bit there’s several other restaurants, Olivi, Neraida were good, but the best out of the lot was Horiatiki, on the left on the corner at the top of the hill. Hospitality, great food, a stunning amount of random freebies, just brilliant. We don’t normally go back to the same place more than twice on holiday, but ended up here three times! Anyway, overall a brilliant holiday! We absolutely loved the resort and especially the Epimenidis and we hope we’ll come back again one day!

I have not stayed at this hotel but I live close and I have tried their food. The food is really bad, like really, really bad! Then they have the LOUDEST karaoke nights ever! I hear the music in my apartment as good as if there would be a band next to my bed. Will not ever go back

My wife and me are just back from a week at the Epimenidis hotel. We stayed on the ground floor, in a very spacious room. A good sized double bed, which made for a good nights sleep. Two sofas, a table with three chairs, a wardrobe and a make-up table for the women. The TV was mounted on the opposite side of the bed. The kitchen had all the necessities to make small meals. A fridge, two cooking plates and a coffee machine. We made breakfast every day in the room, with food bought from the supermarket next door. Omelette with ham and cheese, and coffee. A nice start to the day. Outside there is a patio with a round table and three chairs. A nice place to eat breakfast or relax with a glass of wine or a cold beer. The bathroom is of a good size. The usual shower curtains, you often see in Greece. If the shower is too small, water will be spilt onto the whole bathroom floor, but here the shower is spacious. No problem at all. The hotel is very clean. Towels and bedsheets was changed every day, I think. Not sure about the weekend, can’t remember. The pool is of adequate size, with a closed off space for small children. We did not use the pool too much, only for an afternoon swim. We prefer the beach. There is a pool bar next to the pool, with karaoke some evenings of the week. In connection with the pool bar, there is a snackbar restaurant downstairs, facing the main road. Here we watched a few football matches on tv, had a few drinks and tried some of the food. A good selection of omelettes, pizza, sandwiches, burgers and other items you expect to find in a snackbar. The prices were good and the staff was very friendly and service minded. My wife tried the in-house hair salón. She was very satisfied with the braids she got. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel, if you would like to go to Chania or some other place. All in all a very nice stay. We would like to thank all the friendly staff at the Epidemis hotel for a very nice stay, and would gladly stay with you again. Recommended 😊👍🏼

The staff was so loving and caring, we almost felt like part of the family. Always big smiles meeting us and welcoming us. The room was big and quite nice. Even the bathroom was big. The location of the hotel is perfect. Close to the beach, and close to stores and restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
