I really recommend the hotel if you wanna stay here island
The accommodations were excellent as was the customer service. Though the cabins were not located right in the town, it was an easy walk to the Main Street. The proprietor was wonderful. She made low-key recommendations. She reserved our seats at the native dance concert and helped translate calls to the car rental business. We used the well-equipped kitchen to avoid the high cost of breakfast and lunch in restaurants. The instant coffee we made was as good as the $5 per cup we paid for a village shop. Highly recommended.
This is an adorable place with chickens and boosters walking around. We stopped and bought a few groceries and cooked in the cabin several times. The island is very relaxing and the water is BEAUTIFUL!!!! You will never regret coming here!!!
We stayed at Marae during our 4 days visit to Easter Island. Maka was helpful and responsive from beginning till end. When we arrived she patiently explained everything and answered all our questions. The location is convenient - within walking distance to the airport and a short drive to the main street and shops. The cabin is spacious and has a small kitchen. We bought groceries and cooked most of our meals as the restaurants can be quite expensive. If you are planning to visit EI, I highly recommend staying at Marae and renting a car. The island is small and easy to navigate.
Overall it was a great place to stay. Cabins are spacious and the rooms are well-equipped with cookware. Location is about 10-15 minute walk to the Main Street. If you rent a car the location is ideal as you can turn left on the airport road and get to the two main roads that get you to the sites. There is a bottle shop about 5 minute walk away that has better looking meat and seafood than most of the markets I saw on the Main Street. Only issue for us was the roosters that start up at 7 am. Not a pleasant way to wake up. However to be fair - there are chickens and roosters everywhere so don’t know if this is a fairly common problem. Also office closes at 2:30 - wasn’t an issue for us but I’ve never seen that before. I would stay here again.
