We stayed at Aloha Nui Bed & Breakfast during the Tapati Festival. It was magical! Josie & Ramon are amazing hosts! Their knowledge of Easter Island is unsurpassed, and their interesting stories of the island's history taught us so much. Each day started with a delicious breakfast by Ramon which fueled us for each day's tour with Josie who made the mysteries of the island come alive. We were only booked for one week of the Tapati Festival, but were able to experience so much Rapa Nui culture. They treated us like family. We enjoyed meeting their family and the international guests that had returned for repeat visits. I can't wait to go back!

We spent a wonderful time in Easter Island at Aloha Nui. It was a highlight of our trip to Chile. The breakfast was phenomenal, with fresh bread and fruit (yummy!). Room with bathroom, spacious and comfortable (best sleep in Chile). Big thank you to Josie and Ramón for taking such a great care of us: from picking us up from the airport, arranging for an excellent tour and car rent - maururu! And a big shout-out to Rosemary for entertaining us with her amazing stories - ique mujera! We recommend this welcoming place to our friends and family!

Great and friendly host. The breakfast was excellent, even better than many star-rating hotel. The house was at the end of the main street. The amenities were basic, nothing fancy but sufficient. No TV, air conditioning. WiFi was available in the public area only. Amenities seem to be lacking everywhere on the island anyway that travellers need to adjust. If you are a bed and breakfast kind of travellers, I highly recommend this. The host even arranged a rental car to be delivered and pick up at the house for me! The host also run excellent archeology tours - Haumaka Tours. I highly recommend their private archaeology tour. Ramon is a native, so knowledgeable about the island. He told me so many great stories and interesting information. This private tour gave me flexibility on how to spend my time. Well worth the money.

A good location. Nice grounds, a comfortable room, and all that one would expect while on the island. Wifi may be slow but considering the Island location that should not be a problem. What you do have - apart from any other place - is the wonderful hospitality of Ramon and Josefina. They are superb tour guides, with family connections to the island's history, They make you feel at home, as part of their family. We did two days of tours with them to give us a basic understanding of the Island and show us some of the most important locations. They helped us with everything from a car rental for our remaining time to tickets for the cultural dance show. We could not imagine staying anywhere else. Absolutely perfect!

I don’t normally stay at bed and breakfasts but I cannot imagine going to Easter Island and staying anywhere else but the Aloha Nui. We book through Galapagos Travel (Aptos, CA) as they are also experts on Easter Island travel. Our group of friends were met at the airport with flower lei greetings by the owners of Aloha Nui and transported quickly to the Aloha Nui just minutes away. The owners, Josie and Ramon, have deep roots on this remote island and have also lived abroad so they anticipate the needs of world travelers like myself. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully remodeled. One word of caution....WiFi is slow but accessible from the common area. It was refreshing to detach from my phone for a week! We stayed for a week which enabled us to explore most of this remote island and to also enjoy the town of Hanga Roa. The house is walking distance (or short taxi ride) to shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. I found the food to be excellent—some of the best tuna, ceviche, and carpaccio I have ever eaten. For the non-seafood lovers, the chicken and ribs are also plentiful and excellent. The people of Rapa Nui are warm and friendly and so helpful to visitors. The island is not over-run with tourists yet they know how to accommodate sophisticated travelers without seeming touristy. Josie was our tour guide and planned the week in perfect order. Our knowledge of the Moai grew as the days progressed and we had many wonderful surprises as we explored this unique island. I am so glad we did not stay in a hotel as Aloha Nui allows for privacy but you become part of this lovely family. The breakfasts were healthy and delicious and with truly “fresh eggs” every morning from the chickens in the garden. True “cage-free” healthy hens here! After reading all of the excellent reviews on this site I totally agree. I was sad to leave this hardworking family who made my week so special. I feel I have family now in Hanga Roa.
