5 Stars ?? I think not . The man on the desk said there was no room only a junior suite at 250 euros but on booking .com the room was 145 euros , the room had lights that did not work and was poor overall , We ate at the golf bar and was served a ceasar salad with constituted chicken cost 14 euros , we complained but nothing was done about it , we had a club sandwich which also was not up to standard and noisy a/c units opposite

We arrived on the 28th May 2021 and really wanted to leave this hotel immediately. There were so many things wrong with the hotel.. however we had paid in advance and it was made clear that we wouldn’t get our money back.and we had a long journey and was very hot and tired On arrival at the hotel we noted that although they profess to be a 5 star hotel, we were not even offered a drink. We were hot and thirsty on arrival but there was nothing on offer at all. It was hot and my husband has medical issues of which we made the hotel well aware of.on their notes and confirmation email I had to ask several times for some water for him as he needed to take his medication You would have thought I was asking for a million pounds not just a bottle of water. We had asked for a room that had specific needs for my husband They acknowledged the problem but only had one room available so we had no alternative but to take it. The manager / supervisor specifically told us the all the suites were taken After a long wait we were shown a room. The room was a very long walk from reception and the facilities. We had pointed out to the hotel before we arrived that my husband needed to be near all facilities not miles away from them. However what we had requested had not been listened to whatsoever. Room 111 is no way suitable for someone with Motability issues.. unless they can supply a jet to get to reception Once in the room we noted there was no mini bar, no folder showing people what the hotel had, no writing paper or envelopes. There were no instructions anywhere what to do in case of a fire … and also no room service ! There are no English channels on the tv in the room. I don’t think it would have hurt to have at least one channel in English. Considering the amount of guests that are probably English this is pretty poor show What 5 star hotel has no room service ? If you are not going to offer this… the should at least tell people before they book. My husband needs constant drinks as he is a diabetic. He can dehydrate very quickly putting his health in danger. Again my husband needs liquids to have his medications..and I had to go to the Spa supermarket to buy drinks so he could take his pills. We went to the health Spa once. The steam room was not working and the spa was only open Fridays and Sunday’s and even then not full days. This was never pointed out on booking. The steam room is always good to go into.. so we were very disappointed to see that it wasn’t working. This was not pointed out until we were actually in the spa We were in Room 111 for two nights and then moved to 115. This was after the manager telling me he had no suites on the first floor! And he didn’t know if it was occupied or not? And this is from the Manager .. Surely he would have known ? When we got into room 115 the air conditioning was not working and the t.v remote was not compatible with the t.v. (however, we soon found out after there was no English channels) Again no folder of instructions.. no mini bar… no fire drill instructions. This is all very unacceptable in a 5 star hotel. Again no room service. We would never have stayed with if we knew that the majority of services were below par and/or not working. I think it’s very unfair and not professional that these things were not pointed out before booking. The Clover bar downstairs opened at 6 every night and before there was nowhere in the hotel to get a drink from. There was not even a pool bar ! So I spent most of the day going backwards and forwards to get drinks from the room All the other restaurants in the hotel were closed!! We ordered dinner one night from the Clover Bar.. and I had asked for chicken nuggets. But they didn’t have any! Again pretty poor for a 5 star hotel Breakfast was disgusting. It was the same every day, and getting hold of honey seemed to be a very big issue and we had to ask several times for it. The butter that was offered was the cheapest butter ever. It was awful. Every single morning there were 3 cereals there which had probably not been changed for the last 6 months. The cheese was always the same. And everything else there was stale The bacon and the sausages were obviously just reheated every day.. and you could tell by the taste There were no gluten free options and as I can’t eat bread I had to go to the shop to buy some crackers and then bring them down to breakfast. Again not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel I have stayed in 3 star hotels before and they have had much more choice for breakfast.. and they vary it. I think if you would have stayed in a prison you would have got more choice I have written to this hotel denoting all these points.. there is no way this hotel should ever be classed as s 5 star hotel.. and if the manager wishes to do so I can discuss these issues with him.. Finally, do not be fooled by these glossy photos of the hotel.. they are seriously deluded if they think they can class themselves as a five star hotel. I would have been treated better at Butlins!

We are fortunate to have a villa on this lovely golf resort therefore have been visiting the hotel for many years. Sadly we have noticed a deterioration in almost every area. We went for breakfast the other week which was disgusting. Carton orange juice, cold coffee, soggy toast, cheap hard baked beans, choice of 2 old fruits, no butter....need I go on?! Many of the umbrellas round the pool are ripped and torn and the water fountain has no water! The club house has has worn carpets and very slow staff apart from Alvaro who is always friendly and helpful. We had friends coming to stay in the hotel and I went to reception to ask if they could check in at midday especially as the hotel was no where near full and was very rudely shooed away and told it was not possible. They could have at least smiled and tried but it’s obvious they just don’t care. It was the same attitude when I asked about the restaurants, or lack of them should I say! Luckily there is a very well equipped Spar on site and a good selection of eateries within walking distance just outside the resort on The Boulevard. There is no hotel bar and the pool bar is closed which I don’t understand as people and children are running around in and out of the pool and jacuzzi all the time?? We also noticed that quite a few guests from The Residences were using the pool which I thought was forbidden but nobody asked them to leave. I can’t comment on the rooms but our friends said they were nice. We have friends coming later this week so will ask to have a look at theirs and take notes! The golf course is in dire need of some TLC with many ares totally overrun with weeds and unpruned trees. This used to be a lovely 5* when under the management of Intercontinental and we would confidently recommend it to everyone but now feel less inclined to do so and it’s no more than a 4 and soon to be a 3 if things and Caleia don’t get their act together. I did email the hotel manager and Caleia head office on many occasions with my concerns but never got a reply so feel only right to air my views on here!
