This hotel could be perfect but is lacking in so many small ways. Our room was fantastic despite having no balcony. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was perfect. The swimming pools were beautiful and gardens very attractive. The area by reception is beautiful but unused . It lacks any atmosphere. Perhaps this was due to the time of year. We... More

One of nicest places for a while wedding weekend for about 110 guests. Spent 3 nights and everything was well organized and superbly prepared. Venue is a dream last location in the mountains close to beautiful seaside village.

The only negative I can give in this review is that you will have to leave...and go back to the real world. Quite hard, after a few days in this magical place. It has a feeling of Tuscany about it, but with Greek sea views - the best of both worlds. It's a peaceful haven where the staff go out... More

Lots of things about Kinsterna are good, but we left feeling the hotel has become complacent and commoditised. The new buildings do nothing to enhance the site, and we heard that when the hotel originally opened it was a chic hideaway. Sadly that's no longer the case with a conference venue and cavernous dining room which are out of sync... More

We have just returned from our third stay at the Beautiful Kinsterna Hotel & Spa, and every year the hotel just gets better and better, the location is amazing with views across both countryside and the sea, and the rooms are beautiful, and so full of character, the quality of the food in both restraunts is excellent, and with a breakfast... Gorgeous hotel - really peaceful with lovely gardens and two pools. The restaurants are very good and the food is delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the architecture is fascinating. We didn't even have enough time to sample the activities sadly, having had a difficult journey from Nafplion. Can really recommend the Kinsterna wine which is excellent... More

I enjoyed our stay in Kinsterna very much - even the hotel was fully booked during our stay, we had a feeling of having our private hotel due to the perfect hotel planning and separate entrance. The breakfast was unforgettable serving local food - it was megical. The waiters were so sweet helping us on any request. One of the... More

Arrived late in the afternoon with no bookings made and were looked after so kindly. We were able to select a choice of rooms and opted for garden suits which were lovely. Our suite was huge suitable for a family of 4 as the lounge area had a sofa lounge and seperate bathroom. The shower was divine and luxuriating and... More

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at Kinsterna this summer. The property was magnificent, reminiscent of another era, surrounded by countless olive trees amidst remarkably rich reddish land. It has much to offer. From hiking to pure relaxation. Our room was top notch; very well air conditioned, with very tasteful decor and style; the bed was extremely comfortable with... More

An amazing mansion overlooking Monemvasia for a relaxing spa retreat. Close enough to town but feels like a world away. Quiet and peaceful with great food and a very pleasant staff. We had a balcony room overlooking the pool which gave great views and a nice peaceful place to relax.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The internationally acclaimed Kinsterna Hotel was recently awarded by TripAdvisor, the largest and most valid hotel review platform, with the prestigious "Certificate of Excellence 2014". The Kinsterna Hotel, which is a Byzantine-era rural mansion, was painstakingly restored with tremendous respect to its long history, with the intent to establish a comprehensive settlement encompassing the main building and surrounding houses. Moreover, all activities that took place in the past on the premises have been revived. Private label products, including wine, extra virgin olive oil, olives, bread, marmalade and a Greek spirit, called "tsipouro".Tucked away in the folds of the lush hillside, with privileged views of the Medieval Castle's Rock of Monemvasia (Peloponnese, Lakonia region) and the endless blue of the Aegean Sea, the restored Byzantine-era rural mansion offers 41 unique rooms, atmospheric suites and autonomous residences and blends magically into the surrounding vineyards, timeless olive groves, imposing eucalyptuses and the lofty cypresses, within an estate of 18 acres. The Kinsterna Hotel breathes a new dimension in the concept of luxury. The enchanting nights with a glass of wine from the local privately owned vineyards next to the Byzantine cistern, the incredible culinary creations from the Greek and the Mediterranean cuisine, with delectable local products and ingredients cultivated in the estate, in the Kinsterna Restaurant, the traditional hearty Greek breakfast, the impressive river-like pool with private relaxation areas amidst the fragrant orange trees, and the atmospheric Kinsterna Spa, with the signature treatments and the highly qualified therapists, highlight the unique experience of the mansion's guests and fully justifies why Kinsterna Hotel was included in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List as one of the 65 best new hotels in the world! ... more   less
