Travelers' Choice
The Kinsterna Hotel is a Byzantine-era rural mansion, which was lovingly and superbly restored with great respect to its long history. Moreover, the natural setting and the activities that took place in the past on the premises have been revived, so the mansion to be self-sufficient. Today Kinsterna produces its own wine, extra virgin olive oil, olives, tsipouro (a Greek spirit), bread, marmalade, soap, etc. Tucked away in the folds of the lush hillside, with privileged views of the Medieval Castle’s Rock of Monemvasia in Southern Peloponnese and the endless blue of the Aegean, offers unique rooms, atmospheric suites and autonomous residences and blends magically into the surrounding vineyards, timeless olive groves, imposing eucalyptuses, lofty cypresses, and the gardens with fresh vegetables and herbs, within an estate of 22 acres. Luxury Boutique Hotel of the Year, LTG European Awards 2017, Certificate of Excellence 2019, TripAdvisor, Certified by ‘The Green Key’, Mr & Mrs Smith

PROS - Thorough communication before trip, including details on getting to the hotel - Easy to find - Beautiful and unique property - Bellman who picked me up at the car park, introduced me to the hotel, and brought me to my room was informative, professional, and friendly - Complimentary upgrade - Loved the archways and stone walls in my room - Upscale furnishings, fixtures, linens, etc. - Adults only pool with attentive service - Excellent walking in the vicinity - Resident cats - Amazing views - Quiet room with screens on the windows. Dark at night. Clean - Plenty of places to hang - Easy parking - Stocked mini bar/fridge CONS - Manager at Mouries made me feel unwelcome (twice) - Taverna -- which looked lovely -- was open only on Saturday and Sunday. The other restaurant options were too formal for my mood (plus I was traveling solo)

A romantic place to forget about the outside world. I like the sustainable approach and how carefully they preserved the history. The wine is excellent and so the Greek authentic specialties which are served with flair. The staff is very well prepared, I liked the attention to the details. The location is optimal too, Monemvasia Castle is one of the best attractions to visit in Peloponnese.
