We (family with teenager) stayed at Kinsterna for four days in August 2016. It was a lovely experience. Just about everything is just made as you had wished for. The hotel is a beautiful old mansion, wonderfully renovated, with two pools (yes: a separate pool for children!), a nice informal dining place and a more formal restaurant - both serve... More

I visited Kinsterna during August. This is for sure the best hotel I have ever visited in my life. Excellent booking assistance with a very polite and helpful staff. When we arrived we all had the feeling we were in paradise. Beautiful constructed building with full respect to the nature. Also a very big room with excellent decoration was offered... More

Hotel is mostly for people that want to relax using the spa and pools or for a romantic getaway, food is very good, as well as rooms. One should try the house wines. Although staff is very kind, I believe place was a bit understaffed, or not well organised.

This lovely hotel is very near Monemvasia but also near some fabulous beaches such as Elafonisi. The characterful conversion of a Byzantine mansion with modern stylishness, the excellent menu and the home produced wine, oil and vegetables all add to the experience. A very special place.

Dream place for vacations! The rooms are spacious and the decoration beautiful, the 2 pools have a magnificent view to the hills and far to the sea, the gourmet restaurant serves exquisite cuisine using mostly local products, most of them being cultivated in their own farms! You can feel the calmness every second you spend in this magical place. Perfect... More

Kinsterna is about 6 kilometres from Monemvasia. We had a wonderful suite overlooking the swimming pool with a wonderful balcony with views of the ocean. The service was outstanding and the breakfast was superb with great variety and stunning views. Its a little off the beaten track but so worth it when you get there. This is a 5 star... More

On a 5* hotel expectations are high. Our stay started 2 days ago, and even though i read many good reviews, i must say that for the moment we are on an average 4* hotel. Upon arrival i felt the organization issues at thr reception. We were supposed to be welcome at the parking, but something went wrong and we... More

Last minute booking just looking for a place to chill in the sun for a week. Stunning venue. Very friendly and attentive staff without being over the top. We had room A16 - very nice. We ate all our meals at the hotel and although the menu didn't change much during the week there were plenty of specials and freshly... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The internationally acclaimed Kinsterna Hotel was recently awarded by TripAdvisor, the largest and most valid hotel review platform, with the prestigious "Certificate of Excellence 2014". The Kinsterna Hotel, which is a Byzantine-era rural mansion, was painstakingly restored with tremendous respect to its long history, with the intent to establish a comprehensive settlement encompassing the main building and surrounding houses. Moreover, all activities that took place in the past on the premises have been revived. Private label products, including wine, extra virgin olive oil, olives, bread, marmalade and a Greek spirit, called "tsipouro".Tucked away in the folds of the lush hillside, with privileged views of the Medieval Castle's Rock of Monemvasia (Peloponnese, Lakonia region) and the endless blue of the Aegean Sea, the restored Byzantine-era rural mansion offers 41 unique rooms, atmospheric suites and autonomous residences and blends magically into the surrounding vineyards, timeless olive groves, imposing eucalyptuses and the lofty cypresses, within an estate of 18 acres. The Kinsterna Hotel breathes a new dimension in the concept of luxury. The enchanting nights with a glass of wine from the local privately owned vineyards next to the Byzantine cistern, the incredible culinary creations from the Greek and the Mediterranean cuisine, with delectable local products and ingredients cultivated in the estate, in the Kinsterna Restaurant, the traditional hearty Greek breakfast, the impressive river-like pool with private relaxation areas amidst the fragrant orange trees, and the atmospheric Kinsterna Spa, with the signature treatments and the highly qualified therapists, highlight the unique experience of the mansion's guests and fully justifies why Kinsterna Hotel was included in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List as one of the 65 best new hotels in the world! ... more   less
