I wanted to do something really special to close out a 6 month trip to Greece. So I decided to rent a car and drive to Monemvasia. The Kinsterna couldn't have been a more excellent choice for treating myself and for creating an excellent memory! The hotel and the grounds are truly magical. I couldn't stop looking around - everything...

Rare experience! It's all about authenticity and quality in every detail, sophisticate esthetic in concept, service, amenities. Excellent staff, educated, smiling, relaxed, always available. Discrete and friendly presence of the stylish general manager. He was there for staff and visitors giving this tone of a large family. Exciting surprises in activities. We had a rich and excellent breakfast and gourmet...

So glad we found this magical place after researching hotels in Greece (it should be listed in Monemvasia to help others find it). It would not be an exaggeration to say we decided to visit the Peloponnese after discovering this hotel. Really glad we did (both our decision to visit the mainland and to anchor it around this hotel). The...

1. Service was great- everyone was kind and made us feel welcome. 2. We received a traditional sweet when we arrived which was a really nice gesture 3. The view from the hotel was really really beautiful 4. The hotel used vegetables from their own garden for the food (or so they said and we actually saw the gardens) 5....

A unique combination of natural environment, tradition and luxury! The renovation activities were made with respect to the old building (an interesting must-see is the photo of the remainings of the old building which resides in the hotel's library). Really kind and helpful staff. The breakfast is delicious with a great variety of local products (marmalades, cheese, fruits and pies...

Staying at Kinsterna is a magical experience - luxurious but laidback. The staff are incredibly helpful, polite and friendly but the atmosphere is relaxed enough that you can maintain the illusion that this whole beautiful villa and estate is just yours to enjoy. Can not rave enough about the sensitive restoration (all the comfort of modcons and infinity pools without...

We did not have any information about the Monenvasia area. We decided to go by curiosity and with a good reference for this hotel. And it is a great positive surprise! The Monenvasia area and his surroundings is amazing. Specifically the Elafonises beaches. The best I have ever seen! But the hotel is fantastic too! It was completely rebuild. The...

A really worth to stay hotel, believe it is the best in the area, thus considering the high daily rate for the rooms, it is good to stay there. Try the Spa facilities and rest assure you will recharge your batteries. Worth to mention also the outdoor activities for all ages and also the great restaurant.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The internationally acclaimed Kinsterna Hotel was recently awarded by TripAdvisor, the largest and most valid hotel review platform, with the prestigious "Certificate of Excellence 2014". The Kinsterna Hotel, which is a Byzantine-era rural mansion, was painstakingly restored with tremendous respect to its long history, with the intent to establish a comprehensive settlement encompassing the main building and surrounding houses. Moreover, all activities that took place in the past on the premises have been revived. Private label products, including wine, extra virgin olive oil, olives, bread, marmalade and a Greek spirit, called "tsipouro".Tucked away in the folds of the lush hillside, with privileged views of the Medieval Castle's Rock of Monemvasia (Peloponnese, Lakonia region) and the endless blue of the Aegean Sea, the restored Byzantine-era rural mansion offers 41 unique rooms, atmospheric suites and autonomous residences and blends magically into the surrounding vineyards, timeless olive groves, imposing eucalyptuses and the lofty cypresses, within an estate of 18 acres. The Kinsterna Hotel breathes a new dimension in the concept of luxury. The enchanting nights with a glass of wine from the local privately owned vineyards next to the Byzantine cistern, the incredible culinary creations from the Greek and the Mediterranean cuisine, with delectable local products and ingredients cultivated in the estate, in the Kinsterna Restaurant, the traditional hearty Greek breakfast, the impressive river-like pool with private relaxation areas amidst the fragrant orange trees, and the atmospheric Kinsterna Spa, with the signature treatments and the highly qualified therapists, highlight the unique experience of the mansion's guests and fully justifies why Kinsterna Hotel was included in the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler's Hot List as one of the 65 best new hotels in the world! ... more   less
