Nimmu House Ladakh is a heritage boutique hotel based near by Leh, Ladakh. Built in the 1920s by the king's cousin, Nimmu House is emblematic of the cultural heritage of the Himalayan region, its history, legends and tales passed down from generation to generation. Its renovation into a charming guesthouse helps contribute to the preservation and enhancement of the cultural heritage of Ladakh, creates economical activities for the villagers of Nimmu and responds to a growing demand from travelers for authentic and comfortable accommodation in this remote Himalayan region. Untouched by urban life, the pristine natural landscape allows you to relax in a serene atmosphere. It is the ideal place for relaxation and outdoor activities : walking or trekking in the valley of Sham, gardening in the orchard, yoga and meditation in the mountains, river rafting, etc. It is also a perfect playground for children. The Nimmu House team is predominantly of Ladakhi origin, who work together to make you feel 'at home' in the heart of the Himalayas, delivering a tailored and bespoke immersion into the family culture of rural Ladakh. On arrival, you are met by the French manager who welcomes you with an intricate explanation about the house's history and architecture. Nimmu House offers five Ladakhi tents scattered throughout the orchard, and a bedroom in the main house. Meals are prepared exclusively with products from the gardens and surrounding areas. You will enjoy/love Nimmu House if: - You are looking for 'guest house' charm - You want to immerse yourself into traditional Ladakh culture - You are interested in the preservation of traditional cultures and sustainable tourism - You enjoy partaking in exercise such as walking, rafting and cycling - You enjoy yoga and meditation - You want to get to know the Ladakh family Nimmu House is not for you if: You are hoping to stay connected to the modern world : there is no TV and no WiFi in the dinning room - You are looking for hotel services. Nimmu House does not have 24/7 room service, and meals cannot be served in tents or rooms.

This is a nice hotel in a beautiful Ladakhi house surrounded by lush garden. There os nothing much to do around but it's very pleasant to stay here and just relax. The management of this hotel pays attention to details and staff is very professional.

A quaint place in the middle of a small village in Ladakh. A good blend of homestay, luxury boutique, local influence all put together.

Indrani was a great host and the food they served was pretty delicious. We had opted for a 3 course set lunch which was setup next to a small water stream under apple trees. All the ingredients were apparently sourced from their own farm and must say looked and tasted amazingly fresh. One of the few places in this northernmost area of India which have few wines to go along with your food.

Will strongly advice that you book the place before arriving as they don't take walk-ins usually. The rooms while we didn't stay looked luxuriously done. The cost ofcourse is on the higher side but then this remote, in the middle of nowhere things are bound to be expensive and I think it also helps them maintain the upkeep.

Highly recommended.

We were delighted with our stay in Nimmu House which was perfect to get used to the high altittude. Indira and Vikram were both extremely helpful, welcoming and did all they could to make our stay comfortable.
The clamping tents rooms were both spacious and very clean, and the private balcony for each tent a very welcome relax area. The delicious meals, all
home made, the momo preparation class, the very relaxing Yoga sessions breakfasts, taken in along the Indus, bathed by the sun were gorgeous. It is a very relaxing location to enjoy the more buzzing Leh, a short taxi ride away, as well as the other local sights. Lementok hotel will remain one of our highlights in Ladakh.

I highly recommend Nimmu House for a peaceful getaway.

Stayed about a week in Nimmu house and loved it so much that I even extended a day. Stayed in the tents which were more spacious and felt nicer than the rooms which are a bit small for an extended stay.

The village of Nimmu is historic and filled with unique landscapes and scenery

Food and beverages were fantastic, healthy and filling. In fact the food was definitely a highlight of our stay.

The staff and service were on par with a 5 star hotel with every need and request patiently accommodated. Sheer Singh is a great bar man, make sure to try his special jungle tea! Subha and Shakti were also wonderful and super helpful.

Additionally they were able to organize one of Best mountain biking trips I have ever been on in Rasta were they will drop you at the top of the mountain and you descend at breakneck speed. Definitely an experience not to be missed. Bikes are also available for rent which is great and allows you to also get around the village which is the perfect size for cycling.

My only critique was that there was no internet in the tents despite it being advertised when I booked, this made it a bit difficult to coordinate travel plans as a foreign tourist as not all Sims will work in Ladakh. That being said this was a minor inconvenience and the staff were happy to share mobile Hotspots when they were needed (although connectivity could be fickle).

Thanks again Indrani and Vikram! And I hope to come back in the future.

Nimmu house is an oasis of warmth and hospitality in a rugged and isolated terrain. The place is resplendent with the beauty of the apricot and apple trees, the excitement of the two cute dogs who greeted us on our arrival, the multiple birds and the soothing sound of the stream running through the property and the mooing of the cows. The careful attention to detail in every aspect of our stay will remain with us for a long time. Each of the meals offered at Nimmu house was an experience in itself, the conversations with the hosts and their team so engaging. The rustic feel of the house, the rooms and the furniture add further charm to the place. We also did a guided walk through Nimmu village, an experience like none other. The team at Nimmu House has left an indelible mark on us (not exaggerating), the place is a must stay.

This is an extraordinary place! We were looking for a hotel where we could relax and unwind but also enjoy the beauty of Ladakh. We are so glad we did not stay in Leh and instead chose this hotel in a small village where we could walk on some quiet roads and enjoy so much natural beauty. The house itself is historic and beautifully renovated. We had a lovely room but also incredible views and star gazing from the roof, comfortable chairs and hammocks to relax in throughout the property and the food! The food was so delicious -- apricot tarts? Home made momos! Everything was spectacular and the service was incredible. Indrani arranged a wonderful driver to the spectacular monasteries of the area for us, I took a momo making class that was so fun, yoga classes and a day hike with a special guide through the stunning landscape of Ladakh. Can't recommend Nimmu House highly enough!

A beautiful, scenic, property maintained and managed by possibly the nicest people you will come across.. Nimmu House gave me and my family an experience we will never forget. The hospitality on offer by Vikram and Indrani's team was fabulous.
You don't need to worry about anything once you are in Nimmu House as their staff will take care of everything. A wonderful place to be close to nature, disconnect with the world and rejuvenate yourself. Each and every member of the team will go out of their way to make you feel extra special, which for me adds the special charm to this place.
What we enjoyed over the course of our 3 day stay cannot be described in words but will forever stay in our hearts. Nimmu House was definitely the highlight of our trip to Ladakh.

I will definitely return in near future, this time for much more than 3 days.

P.S. - when you are there, do check out their in-house furballs, Slow and Zero.. oodles of cuteness. ❤️
