Our family of my husband and I plus 3 children, 15, 13 and 9 just spent a wonderful week at El Geco Verde with Des and Ilaria hosting us. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable and the food was absolutely delicious. The hosts went out of their way to organise loads of activities for us, gave us directions and even... More

We have just come back from a six night stay at El Geco Verde and can endorse everything that has been said in earlier reviews about the friendliness and helpfulness of owners Des and Ilaria. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left they were keen to make us feel welcome and relaxed and to help us make... More

My brothers and I spent 6 nights here in April 2016. The facilities are good, the rooms roomy, the beds comfortable, and the hosts very helpful. Dinner is provided on request and was always excellent. There is wifi but it needs boosting. The location is quite remote, so a car is required. The final couple of kilometres are on a... More

My brothers and I stayed 6 nights at El Geco Verde as the centre of a walking holiday in the local national parks. The owners, Des and Illaria (sp?) are absolutely wonderful. Really welcoming and helpful, especially with details of the local area and the walks nearby. And the walks are stunning! We first walked to the source of the... More

Like the previous reviewers, I found our holiday at El Geco Verde extremely enjoyable. It’s the ideal place to keep active children happy and occupied whilst allowing hard-working, tired parents to get some relaxation and not have to completely abandon any interest in local culture and food. Having said that, I’d happily return to the hotel with a group of... More

We stayed here for a week in October with our 5 year old daughter, and it was a fantastic experience for all of us - a great balance between the holidays off the beaten track that my husband and I enjoy, and lots to do to keep our daughter occupied. The hotel really is off the beaten track, making it... More

We stayed for a week mid-August with 2 teenage boys and we all agreed it was one of our favourite holidays ever. The first thing is the location – a breath-taking setting on its own hill with superb 360 views, 3km along a dusty track (perfectly fine to drive). No problems with sat nav- ours took us to the door,... More

We travelled in a hire car from Nerja and as novices driving in Spain found the journey straightforward and fairly quick, with some great scenery. The track to the hotel was a little daunting first time (we half expected the hire car to be full of scratches/dents - it wasn't anything other then very dusty!) but we quickly got used... More

Staying at El Geco Verde is like visiting some cool friends who have gone to live in the coolest place -as far removed from a packaged holiday as possible. The hotel is small, comfortable and our hostsand owners, Ilaria and Des, so friendly, relaxed and accommodating. We changed our minds, several times, about timing of our activities s and Ilaria... Arrived at this lovely eco hotel to be greeted by Ilaria - fantastic welcome. We opted to do several activities on offer - canyoning - fantastic, kayaking - superb, horse riding - great fun and start grazing - amazing - these were all organised by Ilaria through local companies - all were well worth the experience, our teenage boys thoroughly...
