El Geco Verde is beautiful. It has great vibes, and a lovely feel because it is off-grid and sustainable in it's approach. Des and Illaria are so lovely. By the end of our holiday, it felt like we were staying with friends. The pool is super, the views are spectacular, the activities on offer are exciting, and it feels so... More

We received a very warm welcome from Des when we arrived, after a short drive down a track through the olive groves. The hotel is perched on a hill with 360 degree views of working countryside, with vultures sometimes circling overhead. You are adjacent to 2 Natural Parks and the wildlife is fascinating. The English and Italian hosts are lovely,... More

The location of the hotel is as described. Off grid, in the middle of Olive Groves and totally peaceful. The rooms are cool without the need for air conditioning or fans and spacious with lovely antique furniture. The bed was a dream to sleep on. Plenty of hot water from the solar panels, shower pressure could be better but not... More

We just returned from a fabulous stay at El Geco Verde. We wanted a holiday which was away from too many people with activities but also somewhere to relax and we really got everything we wanted. The remote location adds to the appeal and as long as you follow the very comprehensive instructions provided on the website you won't have... More

Our family of my husband and I plus 3 children, 15, 13 and 9 just spent a wonderful week at El Geco Verde with Des and Ilaria hosting us. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable and the food was absolutely delicious. The hosts went out of their way to organise loads of activities for us, gave us directions and even... More

We have just come back from a six night stay at El Geco Verde and can endorse everything that has been said in earlier reviews about the friendliness and helpfulness of owners Des and Ilaria. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left they were keen to make us feel welcome and relaxed and to help us make... More

My brothers and I spent 6 nights here in April 2016. The facilities are good, the rooms roomy, the beds comfortable, and the hosts very helpful. Dinner is provided on request and was always excellent. There is wifi but it needs boosting. The location is quite remote, so a car is required. The final couple of kilometres are on a... More

My brothers and I stayed 6 nights at El Geco Verde as the centre of a walking holiday in the local national parks. The owners, Des and Illaria (sp?) are absolutely wonderful. Really welcoming and helpful, especially with details of the local area and the walks nearby. And the walks are stunning! We first walked to the source of the... More

Like the previous reviewers, I found our holiday at El Geco Verde extremely enjoyable. It’s the ideal place to keep active children happy and occupied whilst allowing hard-working, tired parents to get some relaxation and not have to completely abandon any interest in local culture and food. Having said that, I’d happily return to the hotel with a group of... More

We stayed here for a week in October with our 5 year old daughter, and it was a fantastic experience for all of us - a great balance between the holidays off the beaten track that my husband and I enjoy, and lots to do to keep our daughter occupied. The hotel really is off the beaten track, making it... More
