I recently stayed for three weeks as I was working in Faringdon. I found the rooms to be clean and tidy I was allowed to bring takeaways back and eat them in the pub and use the microwave to heat food up. Ideal pub if your working away and don't want to spend a fortune. The landlord and his family... More

We very nearly did. Drove passed and thought it looked "tired". Glad we didn't pass it by. It turned out to be just what we wanted, nice friendly atmosphere, the landlords made us very welcome and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms were clean and tea and coffee provided. At night it was a bit noise when the pub was... More

we stopped here recently ,to be fair it was not bad , but the place needs a bit of work to uprate it,one toilet and washing facilities for three rooms is not good, all rooms face the road so can be noisy, the bed in our room had loose joints ,and I was afraid to move at night in case it broke,the... I stayed over for one night! Thank god it was one night. The landlord is nice enough but the room wasn't. Shown to a double room which had no sink and the bathroom was down the corridor. Room was dirty. TV remote was dirty and looked like someone had had their dinner off it. There's was dirt in the corners... More

Torn between 3 and 4 points for this because what is good is very good but some things are not so good. I agree with the previous reviewer, you get what you pay for and therefore it is good value for money. On the plus side, the landlord and family are lovely, friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is excellent.... More

I recently stayed here as a last resort, everywhere else was booked. The young lady greeting me was very pleasant and made me feel welcome. The pub is very much a traditional pub, with large dog et al. The room was adequate, and the bathroom also. I was in the room at the front of the building. Lots of noise... More

We stopped at the Plough for one night on 29th September. I booked it through Laterooms, extremely easy to do. This was the closest to where we wanted to go. It is a very old quaint pub. Originally 6 cottages built in the early1800. The landlord greeted us, booked us in and carried our cases upstairs for us (really needed... More

Excellent stay. I'm a mobile engineer so stay at many local places across the country. This has to be one of the few untouched B&B pubs left. 3 rooms, nice and very well presented. Excellent service and very homely. Superb little pub with friendly staff and locals. Cosy little bar. If in area again, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Breakfast... More
