The Plough is very good, equal to its bigger brother The Five Alls at Filkins. We had a delicious supper with friends on Wednesday evening and were looked after very well. Great intimate atmosphere, a varied and delicious menu and good wine / well kept beer.

Visited the Plough for a night's accommodation and dinner for 3 in late November. I have to say that the staff couldn't do enough, especially Lauren and Marianna, attending to every little detail. Lovely relaxed dinner, which we ate in the bar, about which I congratulated the chef later. Loved the scallops on pork belly starter. Bathrooms lovely, fantastic shower....

My husband and I booked a meal and overnight stay for us and another couple of friends at The Plough as a pre Christmas get together. We were responsible for choosing the venue and really wanted it to be somewhere we would all enjoy and we certainly were not disappointed! The Plough is in a beautiful, peaceful location and the...

A rural pub serving food fully up to the standard of its parent the Five Alls (just up the road at Filkins), however certain aspects of the service can be erratic. On one visit there was 'no record' of a confirmed table booking while on another occasion an order was mis-recorded, resulting in a long wait for the correct dish;...

Went for a evening meal for 4. Cosy, warm atmosphere. Limited menu and had run out of steaks. Confit of duck salad had very little protein. Pudding served lukewarm and had to wait a fair time for a replacement, just as we were giving up. Asked for second bottle of wine and waitress forgot...again gave up waiting. Last visit several...

Everything the Plough does, they do so well. We had the private dining room for my 50th birthday last Friday, there were 10 of us and it was fantastic. The room had been decorated with lots of candles and was cosy and warm, and really attractive. Food was superb, but then it always is - I have never had a...

I couldn't ever thought that we would find such an amazing place at the middle of nowhere (at least for us...!!). While driving from Filkins, we were a bit a afraid that we will never find this place! But when we arrived it was such a great surprise. The building was so nice with a nice little outside seating area....

Kelmscott is the tiny village around Kelmscott Manor, home to William & Jane Morris, major players in the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood who are now buried in the little churchyard nearby. Having negotiated the increasingly tiny lanes to get to this icon of British Arts & Crafts history, one naturally had to eat at the Plough which is half-way between the car-park...

This is a village pub with rooms and a restaurant. Rooms are simple but comfortable to sleep in and also (I am a pillow quality fanatic) has the most comfortable pillows I have experienced in any hotel for some years. The bathroom attached to our room seemed almost new (actually with a walk-in shower with a rain-shower head - plenty...

My friends and I had visited Kelmscot Manor, which is actually in Oxfordshire NOT Gloucestershire as this site states. Fantastic menu and a very interesting vegetarian option, which is a pleasant change. The staff were very welcoming and one lady fixed my friend's mobile. A lovely old fashioned pub, with a modern menu.
