This is one of those places you don't want to tell anyone about because it will become so popular you won't be able to get in came for my wife's birthday and what and awesome stay. The restaurant (see separate review) was amazing. We were so well taken care of a real find. We will be back !!

I was recently in Goring on Business and stayed the night at the Millar of Mansfield, pleasant enough Inn but punching above it's weight when it comes to the room tariff. I know this is an expensive part of the country but £120 for a room in a pub is just too much even though you do paint the floorboards...

This hotel is a charming old proper where on entry you are greeted with a fabulous open fire. This is a small boutique hotel with individual bedrooms. Some quirky, I stayed in the four poster room which was ver spacious and a separate bathroom. The rooms have Nespresso coffee machines and the landing that connects all the rooms has a...

The lamb (dinner) was the best I have ever tasted..... and we both thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. 2 x very small negatives.... There was half a glass of red wine in the room from the previous...

I was visiting a friend and we popped in for a glass of wine and something to nibble. We ended up staying for a good few hours! The almonds served with cheese and caper berries were so tasty especially with some gorgeous bacon bread to mop up the garlicky oil. The cauliflower lasagne was amazing light and tasty too. Lovely...

We booked to stay overnight here with our 2 young boys as we were visiting friends in the area. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival. Even though the decor in the bedroom was very modern, we still found it had lovely charm and character. (And the bathroom with it's roll top bath was very relaxing) We were seated...

Following a big downturn when Will and Suzanne left a couple of years ago, the Miller has reinvented itself into a very pleasant, attractive venue. Led by a focused young lady, with Max as bar manager and pleasant colleagues looking after guests, the Miller has returned to past glories. We have not had a meal there yet, but the coming...

I was booked here for two nights by my company and due to work I arrived late, it was lucky I telephoned ahead as there is no reception and the staff all go home at night. There is also no parking, but the manager who had to stay behind, kindly let me use his parking space, so due to my...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of the Year Award 2016. 2 AA Rosettes. The Miller of Mansfield is the modern inn loyal to its 18th century coaching inn roots with a 21st century twist. Set in idyllic Goring on Thames, overlooking beautiful South Oxfordshire and West Berkshire countryside. Mary and Nick have dreamed of owning their own place and have long been searching for the right establishment. Whilst the food reflects Nick's love for simple but elegant food prepared with care and giving ultimate respect to the raw product (3rd Best Thames Local Restaurant Award), Mary takes time to consider the wine list & real ales that she is passionate about (CAMRA Pub of the Season 2015). Our 13 individually designed rooms and family/luxury suites offer flat screen digital televisions, marble bathrooms, organic luxury latex and pocket sprung mattresses, Ren toiletries, slippers and robes (on request). The local area is full of activities for all. From magnificent stately homes and National Trust, to Royal Berkshire shooting school (RBSS), shopping in Oxford, Henley on Thames or Reading (not forgetting to mention the Henley regatta & festival) and racing at Ascot & Newbury) there is something for everyone to enjoy. Boat hire on the river Thames can be arranged. Also within a short walk from the Ridgeway, Goring & Streatley Golf Club, Chiltern Aerodrome and close to great cycle paths, The Miller of Mansfield is perfectly located to accommodate all occasions. Whether for a weekend retreat, a summer picnic, a short break, a private function or a quiet gathering, the experienced & professional staff will do their utmost to ensure you have the most amazing experience and Mary & Nick very much look forward to welcoming you. ... more   less
