We booked into the Elckerlyck for 1 night, but the owner was so attentive and accomodating that we stayed for 3 nights.Great location for touring around Ypres. The morning breakfast was delicious and served fresh. The owner offered to lend us bikes to use during our stay so we could tour around Kortrijk - he even did our laundry! I would highly recommend this Inn.

Looking all arround Kortrijk for accommodation after IBIS dissapointed us and found this place online. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. He imediately made us feel at home. The rooms are a little tired but kleen and tidy. We had dinner at the restaurant, food was OK and beers cold and great. A little expensive for waht you get but worth the off the beat stay and having the personal touch of a owner service and welcome.

The staff(owner and family) are obviously keen and attentive. Great beer food and rooms. Perfectly situated for either tunnel, channel ports or Amsterdam (3 hrs) A real bonus towards the end of our holiday....very happy to reccomend

I had a booking at this room in November 2015 for myself and friend who were travelling to a dog show. Sadly my father became fatally ill and I could not make the trip but my friend went and took another friend in my place. They stayed at the hotel and I am told they found it to be perfectly pleasant but nothing special, to be fair we weren't looking for much for an overnight stay. The problem began some months later when we were looking through a bank statement and realised we had been billed for the stay. The thing is my friend paid the bill too the manager at the hotel. When I contacted the manager to point out that a mistake had been made he very quickly suggested I was lying and trying to con him. He wanted to know why I hadn't realised this sooner..... Did I mention the bit about my father dying (slowly from stomach cancer). I was forced to get a copy of my friends bank statement to show she had paid but still this man was totally rude and abusive. He knew there were two people staying in the room I booked, he said the hotel had been full that night and he admitted he had been paid... So where was I? The booking agent managed to persuade him to relent and even in doing so he called me a liar and con artist. I read very high praise for this person here and I imagine that while he is taking your money he is perfectly lovely but if you have a problem I do not envy you!

One of those "better then expected" places. The place, at first, seemed desolate, but as we got acquainted with the owner, and we got settled in (I was with my sister), we got to understand that this one a hell of a cozy little place. We opted for the dinner course the first night and breakfast on both days. The home-made Belgium beer went down smoothly and the dinner was cooked by the owner who - as I understood - is also a chef and gourmet. Breakfast was more then satisfying with loads of bread, croissants all warm and buttery, jams, honey, fruits, yoghurt, ham and o.j. A small detail which pleased me: we were there because I had looked for a place that wasn't far from a wedding we were to attend. We had gone there from Lille by car and all the place names are in Flemish and the road signs not the easiest to understand. The owner loaned me his GPS so that I could not only find my way to the wedding, but back to the inn at night. Very kind of him to have done that. The room was comfortable, the beds firm and the shower room clean and more then adequate. Our room had no bathtub, but that was ok for our needs. Nearby is a large field with cows which adds a quaint little touch of country to the place. Parking was more then adequate for our large Audi A5 and fairly close to the room, which made it easy to unload and load our suitcases.
