I bought this as a treat . It is simply stunning. I got a deal which included a session in the spa , an evening meal and breakfast and I couldn't fault any of it. The hotel is beautiful, very comfortable beds and the food is great. Run out of superlatives really . Very classy indeed.

Pleased to say all 11 of us had a very enjoyable meal and overnight stay last weekend. The front of house staff were responsive and welcoming. The chef presented an excellent meal and the sommelier took trouble to meet our requests. It goes without saying that all rooms/facilities were of a very high standard. Ideal place for walkers and dogs....

After a fabulous evening at the Black Swan in Helmsley the previous night, the Devonshire Arms had a lot to live up to! The bedroom suite was fine and modern, although the firm pillows I ordered were the same as the others! We headed into the dining room and treated ourselves to the "Taster Menu" with wines. Some of the...

This hotel is reasonably local to us and we had heard good recent reports, so we decided to book a dinner and overnight stay package when a special occasion gave us a good excuse. We had the tasting menu and the food was truly excellent, combined with a lovely ambiance in both the restaurant and cocktail bar. There were a...

A delightful haven for complete relaxation and outstanding hospitality within an atmosphere of grace and charm. Surrounded by glorious scenery with a parkland setting. Supremely comfortable bedrooms with contemporary comforts. Outstanding food with a choice of two restaurants. A wonderful experience not to be missed and most certainly to be repeated.

apart from recommending the Devonshire Arms as a spa and hotel. We do go tho some events that they put on. We went to a lunch where two leading cefs from yorkshire and lancashire went head to head on a 6 course taster menu. The challenge called the war of the roses was great and the food created was excellent....

There is no lift and access to rooms is up and down in various parts. The different lounge/seating areas are comfortable. There are many oil paintings as you move around the various areas, if you are keen on local scenes in art. Although our room was on on the front the incidental traffic was barely audible. At this time of...

On arrival, you are made to feel very welcome and soon feel at home amongst the roaring log fires and comfy chairs! The double room was clean and modern, with tasteful décor. Eating in the brasserie at night was a delightful experience. Drinks in one of the many lounge areas made you feel quite decadent. The spa experience was BLISS!...
