We had three rooms at the Devonshire Arms Hotel for two nights - the Herbert Royle, the Photographer and Gericho. The hotel is very relaxed, good service albeit a bit slow in the bar, great breakfast and dinner. The hotel is well located for the local sights and walks,

My wife booked a 3 night weekend stay as a surprise treat. We arrived Friday mid afternoon and no sooner had we pulled in and opened the car boot than someone came out to carry our bags. (Even when I returned to the car later to get a small bag I was offered assistance.) We were shown to our room...

Trying to be too many different things, Stayed at this "dog friendly hotel"but when we asked for a place to eat with our dog it sent some staff into a frenzy,as they had weddings going on both days they did not seem to know what to do, which put us off. We felt welcome immediately, we were shown the hotel facilities. Then we arrived in our bedroom,it was amazing,a wonderful view, lots of seating and a four poster bed. The food was wonderful from breakfast through to fabulous fine dining in the Burlington restaurant. The staff and management went out of their way to help us.

Fabulous hotel, restaurant and spa. all done really very well. Food outstanding in the Brasserie, spa is small but adequate and my wife loved the treatments. we upgraded to one of the suites - Artists Room. Lovely and superb bathroom. Would recommend strongly but not one for a budget holiday. Location is superb by the way - explore Yorkshire.

A two night stay eating in the Brasserie one night. Excellent seafood sharing platter. The Burlington tasting menu on the other night. Some interesting flavour combinations - fois gras and parkin. - for example. Beautifully presented and enjoyed. Would have given another star but for the cost of drinks. Perfect place to take your pooch. Food, water bowls, pooh bags...

One of my favorite Country House Hotels. Superb restaurant ( also complimented by a seperate 'Bistro' a few rooms away) And one of the best wine cellars in the UK, with a very helpful Sommelier. Pre-dinner a very agreeable cocktail comfortable bar, or if you prefer go to the 'back bar ot Bistro bar prefer the bedrooms in the old...

I didn't want to leave this place... My friend and I stayed for 1 night and were totally thrilled with the staff, the food, the room, the setting, the atmosphere and that spa was absolutely beautiful. The treatments were professional and simply divine. Nothing was too much trouble for any staff member and the food from the Brasserie was delicious,...

My partner and I booked in to The Devonshire Arms for our first visit, based on a recommendation from friends who stayed there a fair few years before. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who walked to our car in their car park to assist with our luggage, then delivered then to our room before we had...
