This hotel has a fantastic country house feel, I particularly like the "dog room" a great space to relax. We stayed two night for a friends wedding - dinner in the restaurant on Friday was excellent and the breakfasts were very good. Spa facilities were nice and modern too.

First the good news. The Devonshire Arms is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. You could probably eat your breakfast off the floor. Then we have the hotel staff who were both friendly and knowledgeable of the area. And then you have the style of the hotel which I think is perfect "country house" with slight... More

Birthday treat at The Devonshire involved the 8 course taster with the wine flight. Absolutely gorgeous, a superb evening served by attentive friendly staff. We got an upgrade to the room and ended up in The Photographers Room. Fabulous. All in beautiful surroundings with plenty to see and do in the area. Not the cheapest but nice to indulge now... More

We had a long weekend at the Devonshire 17-20 November....it snowed!! It was our first visit but certainly won't be the last We like cosy country house hotels and The Devonshire ticked all the boxes for us, comfy bedrooms, cosy lounges with real fires, and tippy top bar service Thanks specially to Bev and Alice on reception who sorted a... My wife and I are currently staying in the Devonshire Arms after our wedding which was yesterday (26/11/16). This place is out of this world! The views are amazing, the food was fantastic, the atmosphere is immense but the thing that made it so special was the Devonshire Arms employees! They are phenomenal! Every member of staff is so friendly... More

We have just returned home after a one night luxury spa break in a superior double with Burlington dining. It was an excellent break, but unfortunately spoilt by some really simple but significant things that we wouldn't have expected in a hotel of this standard. After checking in and meeitng th fantastic front of house staff we were shown to... More

The bedrooms are of a decent size but the decor itself needs updating; a baby pink room being a bit old fashioned! The Parkin delivered to the room was a nice touch. The spa is small but the treatments experienced were very good. Afternoon tea served in the cocktail lounge was of a high quality although food and drinks had... More

Love this old established hotel and spa. Had a very lovely one night stay which started with afternoon tea in the cocktail lounge. Comfy seats and a lovely log fire. Followed by a quick spa visit. Pool area very adequate with a jacuzzi and plunge pool. Dinner was in the brassiere this time and the staff were just as attentive... More

We skipped our usual November jaunt to Paris due to lack of time and instead booked a night here to celebrate our WA. It isn't the cheapest night's accommodation you'll ever find but for a treat, it's worth it. From check-in to check-out the standard of service and attention was simply outstanding and at all times came across as genuine.... More

I stayed here last weekend with my wife, young son and 2 year old springer spaniel. From the outset we were made to feel extremely welcome, not only by the reception staff, manager and concierge, but then by the lovely lady who was running the show in the cocktail bar serving afternoon teas, wine and whatever else were the clients...
