Just returned from a great holiday at Carema club resort. Greatly improved since last visit. Apartment clean and comfortable even bottle of water in fridge. Friendly staff, grounds kept tidy. 3 swimming pools, the one near us had inflatables and balls. Great place for families with the splash park. Did not see any jelly fish. Plenty of sunbeds. Meals we excellent, plenty of choice and hot. Entertainment was good. Bus stop opposite reception. Mahon 3,25€ bus’s to local resorts. And ciutadella via Es Mercadal. We are in our seventies and love to walk the Cami de Cavalls. We found our apartment not suitable to many steps with 60 steps after a couple of days it was too much. It’s with special thanks to the management and reception along with jet2 reps Connor and Emma although fully booked they found us another apartment 306. This helped us to enjoy our stay here.

When we arrived the complex looked beautiful. The receptionists were helpful and showed us everything that there was to do, fantastic, room ready in 10 minutes we could choose to go eat or wait for our room. Chose to wait. 2 hours passed and had to ask 3 times if our room was ready yet, waiting with a toddler is no fun game but they didn’t seem interested. Eventually got told our room was ready and then told we would be taken to our room by car! Odd I though as I PAID EXTRA TO BE CLOSER TO THE RESORT! Was sick of waiting around so chose to walk. Our room is a good 1/3 of a mile away from the main eating area and the amount of steps is absolutely ridiculous. I booked with Jet2Holidays and nowhere on the website does it say the maximum elevation of the resort or how far rooms are etc. IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH MOBILITY ID ADVISE AGAINST COMING HERE The food itself is somewhat mediocre, but what do you expect for All Inclusive, a lot of fish is served, personally not a fan but you can’t please everyone. The rooms are a little outdated (again I paid extra for a premium room but didn’t get it, couldn’t be arsed arguing so just put up with it) you get the essentials and apparantly enough towels to last you a week. We used the first lot in the first day and expected them to be replaced the next day, 3 times I had to ask to have them replaced and they still never appeared. The ONE all-inclusive bar is situated at the deep end of the pool, which is a fair trek from the sun loungers and the splash park is a good 20-25metres away and 2 long ramps. The pictures make it seem all close together. It’s not. The entertainment is good, but outside (under shelter) Child’s Park is decent and under cover, and there is also a bouncy castle. However if you’re on it late it’s on a timer and shuts off without any warning whatsoever!! Was glad it wasn’t my child stuck in there. Beach is decent, albeit a little cramped but there are some steps to take you to a larger beach. You are fairly out in the sticks as far as the shops etc are concerned although there are regular buses which are cheap it’s €3ish to Mahon and takes around an hour. A taxi is about €30 The resort itself is clean and tidy, but unfortunately I won’t be returning. The main reason is the steps and distance to the apartments and the one and only all inclusive bar.

Dear callum2694, thank you for taking the time out to share your experience with us. We know that you complained directly with the Jet2holidays rep. You were unhappy because they were told there were no hills, no distance to the resort center, rooms and other facilities. The information provided is wrong, the resort is set on a hillside, their room type is located 350m walking distance from the reception and everything is in the Jet2holidays website. They will complaint to the TRAVEL AGENCY. The management

I think it's way over priced for the room/apartment you get, there isnt much to do around, the property were kept clean and tidy, the beach kept getting covered in jelly fish coming in from the north sea so we wasnt able to go in the sea most of the time , way overpriced for what you get

just returned from a week at carema club. First impressions were great, reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Once checked in we were taken to our room by a porter in a minivan and helped with our cases which was great. Rooms weren’t great, having paid an extra £200 for a ‘promotional apartment’ with a central location. We ended up with a very basic, old fashioned 1 bed apartment at the top of a steep hill and about 20 steps. This was extremely annoying with a young toddler in a pram and children doing multiple trips up and down for meal times. Rooms consisted of a double bedroom with a wardrobe and dressing table. Living room/kitchen/dining area with a pull out sofa bed. It was extremely difficult to pull out and very uncomfortable. The rooms weren’t very secure in my opinion I didn’t feel safe letting my daughter sleep in the living room on the sofa bed as it was right next to the door that was secured only with a small lock. I’ve seen garden sheds more secure! The food wasn’t bad, I am a very fussy eater so not a lot would appeal to me. Breakfast was served 8-11am consisting of cereals, fruit and cooked breakfast (bacon, sausage etc). Lunch served 12.30-2.30 was a range of buffet style food with fish, meat, bread, chips, desserts. Dinner was served 7-10pm was very similar to lunch varying everyday. Pool was good with a small shallow pool for babies and toddlers. A bigger pool of 90cm for adults. Only fault about the pool was that inflatables and balls weren’t allowed in the pool. The splash park was great with about 10 slides again with shallow water and lifeguards on duty all day 11-5pm. Only thing I would say is my partner got hurt on the bigger slides after coming off the rubber ring. So be cautious of younger children. There isn’t many sun loungers available. The pool bar was great with a wide variety of drinks including beer, wine, soft drinks and cocktails. Tea and coffee available also. Having gone all inclusive we had a choice of ice cream and hot dogs available all day. Snacks were also served from 4.30-5.30pm daily with fruit, pizza and individually wrapped pastries. There was a kids play area which was sheltered meaning you can keep little ones out of the sun for a while. Also a small bouncy castle. Kids club was also available but didn’t use so cant comment. Mini golf and multi sports available too but again I didn’t do any of this so can’t comment. The majority of staff were lovely apart from a few. Our daughter took sick with a vomiting bug on our 3rd day. When the cleaners came to make up the room and change towels as they do everyday we received a comment from one of them about my sick baby and rude facial expressions. Obviously their English wasn’t great as we explained that the baby was sick and apologised about the sheets needed to be changed and she wasn’t very pleasant. The beach was right beside the hotel. With very shallow water it is great for kids. My family took canoes out for an hour and had a great time. While I stayed along the beach with my young daughter. There was a supermarket beside the hotel which had everything from alcohol to gifts and souvenirs. The hotel is very isolated in a little village with not much around. This was the main downfall as there wasn’t much to do outside resort. We took a day trip into Mahon using the buses. It was great we got picked up outside the hotel and took to the bus station in the centre in Mahon. The bus has multiple stops however so it took over 1 hour to get there. While in Mahon we took a trip on a glass bottom boat costing €12 for adults and €4.50 for children and babies were free. The trip took 1 hour and was brilliant would definitely recommend doing that. Overall I would say I was a bit disappointed with the hotel in the fact of paying extra for central location and ending up at the top of the resort. I wouldn’t return to the hotel on this basis and I don’t think I would recommend the hotel either. We had a nice week away but I believe you make the holiday what you want it to be so each to their own. Hope this helps anyone. Also our holiday was a jet2 package holiday for anyone looking at it.

We have just returned from a week at Carema. Over all we found the resort average, unfortunately my 6 year old fell ill with sickness on the third day which lasted 24 hours and then myself on the 5th day, although the sickness was only 24 hours each it took a good couple of days to recover so this took over most of the holiday. Such a shame as we wanted to do more exploring of the island but couldn’t go far feeling unwell. Arrival - Friendly greeting, welcoming and clean reception, a man helped us with our bags to our room in a mini van, all good. Room - We were in one of the furthest away rooms, although along side the road which goes round the hotel so we didn’t have to go up and down steps, we could literally just walk down the road to reception/pool so we were happy with this. Standard old fashioned Spanish style apartment as we expected. We had 3 power cuts whilst there which was annoying and the last 2 days the tv really played up and then stopped working all together, we asked reception to help but they never came to sort it. The air con was really good, lovely and cold! Food - Food was good, standard all inclusive, a little repetitive but isn’t every all inclusive? Very fish orientated which my husband loved although I don’t eat seafood so didn’t have as much choice but always found something. Always fresh bread and of course, chips. Desserts were hit and miss, some nights were great, others a bit weird. Breakfast was always good, bacon, eggs, hash browns, cereals, fruit etc. Snacks were ok, hot dogs all day, ice cream pots, and then at 4.30 a selection of fruit, these stuffed pizza type things which were good and wrapped pastries. An option of a ice lolly would of be nice instead of ice cream. Drinks - I tried a few cocktails before becoming sick, all nice, nice to have a choice of all inclusive. Soft drinks good, fizzy and all day juices. Pool - It’s quite shallow, 90cm, which is great for kids, would be annoying if coming as an adult but it’s a family hotel so there you go. It was always warm, BUT the pool was cleaned in the morning and looked clear, by about lunchtime the pool was always cloudy, couldn’t see underwater with goggles, I didn’t see anyone test the pool throughout the day the whole week we were there, only the once in the morning. Waterpark - Great, good selection of slides, I’d say perfect for toddlers to about 10 years old, always clean. Area - Very remote, literally a beach, supermarket and two bars up the road, ok for a week but couldn’t of stayed longer, we like a walk in the evenings. The beach is ok, slighter better if you walk over the wooden steps, sea is lovely and clear. We took out a pedalo with a slide on which was great fun. Entertainment - Average cheesy entertainment, again think it’s pretty much the same everywhere. Quite enjoyed the aqua Zumba, but what annoyed me is that you not allowed inflatables or to even through a small ball to each other in the pool but they can play waterpolo quite aggressively, nearly taking people out on their sun beds! Bouncy castle is good, small park for young kids, we didn’t use the kids clubs so can’t comment. Staff - All friendly and helpful. I don’t think we would return, obviously the sickness put us off and with it being quite remote but it has its good points too.
