We stayed here for 3 days 2 nights. We stayed in Garden view room. The room is spacious and clean. There's a bar near at the beach which is great. The staffs are friendly and accommodating. Pure white sand beach with lots of palm trees. Overall, we recommend this place. Great for couples and family.
The resort is in a good location and the beach area is good. We booked a beach villa which was considered one of their premium rooms but it was right next to the main pool for walk-in guests and next to a live singing entertainment venue in the evening. It was loud! Also, since they accept walk ins who only uses the pool or dine at their restaurant , our veranda view has always been people running around, taking photos using the hammock and teepee next to our room and it was unbearable. There’s no privacy at all. The staff, although courtesy and friendly are not attentive and will disregard you even while you are seated at the table at the bar or restaurant waiting. The buffet selection was okay, but their facemask policy only at the buffet is so outdated and useless. We stayed for the whole week and most of the time it takes half an hour to get a drink. They seem to be running around like headless chickens all the time. Loads of kids screaming and playing and they have group bookings and events all the time. Will not come back!…
We love the location. It’s chill and quiet during the day. Very relaxing and satisfying. If you are looking for a getaway from the city, this is a perfect place. Water in the shower is salty. Service is very poor. Called guest services many times, no one is answering. My boyfriend (now fiancé) proposed to me last weekend at the resort. He booked a “PRIVATE” 5-course dinner (as advertised by the resort) for us by the beach for the proposal. When we arrived, the spot is full of leaves, branches and sea stuff. For the price he paid, they could have at least somehow tried to clear out or sweep the “private” area. He was also told they were gonna block off the area for us and that they will send security for crowd control. No security came and our dinner turned out not “private” at all. People kept passing through our area and the spot where they put us was also a bit near the bar hence we could hear the loud party music during our 1st-2nd meal. In the beginning, the intimacy was spoilt, good thing when he proposed during sun down (going for our 3rd meal), by God’s grace, people weren’t passing by and the loud party music was turned off. But this was already after he complained to the staff. Also, both our families arrived during the surprise proposal and they all ended up having dinner at the resort. They waited for more than an hour for the food and when food came, it was undercooked. They also finished eating dessert and their soup still hasn’t arrived. In the end, they found out that the f&b staff forgot to key it in their system. We also asked their staff to iron 2 tops and 1 dress. The lady said she will send someone at a specific time but the person didn’t arrive at the said time. We had to ring them twice for follow up and it took us 2 hours to get our clothes back.…
Spent 4 nights here with family and friends. What was great: - Beach area was the best. Fine white sand and swimmable even for kids. Loungers were all around and near the bar. - A very long happy hour - 7 AM to 7 PM! - The rooms were comfortable - spacious bathroom, cold A/C, cable TV, comfy beds and a small porch facing the beach. Great value! - The resort has 2 pools. The main pool beside the restaurant has a shallow and deep area, but the pool is not so big and gets quite crowded. The other pool on the other end of the resort is much bigger and with less people, but the downside is that it is far from the restaurant. What could have been better: - They could add more food options in the restaurant for more variety. - Service was a little bit slow - not sure if the staff were still trying to get back in the groove after the worst of the pandemic. - Not a fault of the resort but there were some sea urchins within the swimmable area of the beach during 1 day of our stay. I saw 1 guest get stung, but the staff attended to her very well. Best to wear beach shoes while swimming in the beach if the warning on sea urchins is displayed. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay and can stay again.…
If you want peace and quite, then go to South Palms Resort in Panglao. There is vast space of beach front that you can enjoy. The sand is not as fine as Boracay though. The water of the shower is salty. They need to improve on their service. Many times I call 0 or guests services, no answer. I think they are understaffed because of the pandemic. On our first night, the air conditioning in our room was not functioning well. We requested for a ro transfer on our second night and its was approved. Food is great in the restaurant. The shrimp pesto was a hit! I requested more pesto and served hot, they complied! Bravo for this. Food price is reasonable. The staff are very friendly and welcoming however its not Discovery Shores Boracay level. Will come back soon and recommend this resort to my friends and family. …
We have just had a 4 day stay at south palms . On arrival our accommodation was not ready but as we were a little early it was not a problem we went for a drink at the bar. Our room was lovely set on the sands facing the sea. The room was perfectly furnished, kettle, tea, coffee, 2 large bottles of water provided. The bathroom was nice with soap, shower gel shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste provided. Lovely fluffy towels.bathrobes .umbrellas and flip flops provided. 2 comfy chairs and a table on outside area. The bed and pillows were the most comfiest I have ever encountered you could not fail to have a good nights sleep. There is even a list of different pillows you can request if you dont like them. Breakfast it amazing ,you name it you can have it. The omelettes are fantastic, freshly made to order. We ate out for lunch each day but ate at poolside bar in the evening, this is the only slight letdown quite a small choice and many items sold out. The beach is perfect ,clean. You can use kayak and paddleboard free , life jackets provided as well. No need to take towels the life guards will give them to you on request. There was a private party taking place on an erected area on beach but the resort left a note in room informing you of this and apologising for any disturbance it may cause and it would be over by 11pm ( in fact it was over by 10pm). Nice little touch were cookies deliverd6each evening. Beds were turned down and rubbish bins emptied each evening. Staff were amazing from reception, cleaners, gardeners bar, waiting staff, transfer drivers to life guards. Cannot fault the resort. It does what it says on the tin a totally relaxing time.would highly recommend …
The last time we were here, South Palms was still part of the Bohol Beach Club. This was our first vacation trip as a family since the start of the pandemic so we were quite picky on where we would be staying given the many new resorts on Panglao. The food is good and the staff very attentive and helpful. But you go here because of the beach. It did not disappoint! They are child and senior citizen friendly, too. So it's really suitable for family getaways and to shake off that Covid-19 weariness.
I haven't traveled since January 2020. But my experience with SPR was definitely worth the wait. The resort is so clean, my room spacious. The front row beach access gives a warm, safe feeling. My morning hot choco is an unforgettable experience. The friendly and accommodating hotel team echoes hope for the hotel industry. You deserve that rebound! You have the best nachos and dip and tarragon chicken caesar salad ever! South Palms Resort is definitely world class.
I’m giving this resort 5⭐️. If you are looking for a place to relax and take a time off from a stressful work then I could recommend this. Yes, price could be pricey (peak or lean seasons) compared to other resorts but you are getting what you paid for. Staff are polite & hospitable. You have this exclusivity because it has it’s own private beach and by the way, this resort is right beside Bohol Beach Club and I have learned that South Palms Resort used to be or was part of Bohol Beach Club. The best part of all, Happy Hours starts from 7AM-7PM #BangengeMode. We enjoyed our stay here (Feb 11- 15,2022) 😊👍. PS: There is a part of this resort that is very reminiscing of Holiday Inn, Maldives!
As always, South Palms never failed our expectations. It has the best beach coast in the whole Panglao. We were booked right before Typhoon Odette hit Bohol. We stayed overnight, until at least 36 hours prior the storm when management decided to transfer all guests to another hotel with higher location. Thank you for keeping all your guests safe during and after the typhoon. We returned back to the hotel after 3 days, and despite the typhoon they made sure that all guests are well taken care of. Special thank you to to the General Manager personally handling our transfers and welcoming us back to South Palms and for making sure our toddler was super happy on her first trip in Bohol. Thank you also to Ms. Gluvy for coordinating with us and our driver who accommodated and helped us pass by the drug store to buy milk formula. Even after the tempest, ang ganda mo pa din Bohol. Ang ganda mo pa din South Palms.…
