* Resort - Native style with a quiet and relaxing vibe right on the beach * Rooms - nice but a bit dusty. Could have been cleaned esp expecting guests * Service - courteous and friendly staff. cleaned the room once requested. * Beach - think twice about swimming there..so much garbage/plastic/open cans in and out of water. Having children, safety comes first. Our kids spent most of time raking the garbage instead of swimming and enjoying - see photos. We had to walk over to the next resort to swim safely; as they cleaned their beach. (Bellevue) Summary: keeping it positive, our stay could have been better if the beaches were cleaned and made safe for guests - it was a bit overpriced for the experience. Hope our review helps with your decision making in booking here.
The resort was exactly what we wanted... a cozy and quiet place for good old friends to catch up, rest and relax! I love the native design with swings & hammocks and a swimming pool for guests to enjoy. The queen size bed was comfortable with a spacious bathroom. Each room was provided with a bamboo rack outside to hang all our wet suits and gear. The food was good too! I’m looking forward to bringing my family in the near future.
The hotel was beautiful and captured the essence of filipino culture. The room was beautiful and I felt comfortable throughout my stay. It was really relaxing to be in and the food was amazing! It really felt like a getaway from the city and the air was great. Highly recommend staying here
Heard that this was newly renovated, so I gave it a shot — also considering that it’s 10 minutes away from the airport. Stayed here for 3 days with a couple of friends, and it was the best. They had a variety of tasty food and drinks. My favorites have to be the gambas, chicken wings, salpicao, and of course the garlic rice. Wi-Fi was incredibly fast. The staff were very accommodating and polite. Anything needed was immediately attended. The room gave an old school yet very modern feel. Not to mention that we were only 4 people, yet it felt like we still had room for more people. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a quick affordable getaway from the urban city.
Worst place I have ever stayed in 35 years travelling , very misleading photos, place should be demolished , seriously the photos are fraudulent, and no wi fi in the rooms , no tv , no reception area , no nothing , I tell you , avoid this place . Staff are friendly though, I feel sorry for them .
I'll start by saying, this place is an absolute dump. Having never left a bad review in my life, it's the first time I feel the need to save the soul and money of the next potential customer. We wanted to finish our trip with a bang and splurge $450 AUD FOR TWO NIGHTS (laughably reduced from $1300AUD) . Please do not make the same mistake. A. Pictures are extremely misleading B. The path leading up to the "resort" is full of rubbish and super dishevelled. Literally mounds of rubbish. C. There's no concierge or reception area and we had to search for someone to help us check in. As we walked in, I was sure we were in the wrong place. D. We got to our room and.... no toilet seat. WOO HOO! For $215 per/night we had to ask for a toilet seat in our run down, bug ridden bathroom. There's mould on the walls and ceiling and heavily rotted skirting boards. The floor hasn't been cleaned and the drinking glasses left haven't been cleaned properly either. The silver lining is the kettle placed right next to the toilet with no mugs, tea, coffee or anything for that matter. Our mind boggles as to what they expected us to do with that kettle. Perhaps a piece of abstract art? Our search for these materials lead us to the "mini bar" which is an empty 18th century rusty warm fridge. E. Wifi only works in the "restaurant and bar". Upon asking where the bar is, I was pointed to a window looking into the kitchen. F. The pool "deck" is literally falling apart (I actually thought my foot was going to fall through planks and you run the risk of getting a foot full of splinters) Is this what they call shabby chic? If you call knee high weeds lining the outskirts of the pool foliage then yes, there's lots of foliage. But the 'piece de resistance' of the pool vista has to go to the small plastic pot containing a long dead plant sitting as a centre piece. To top it off, the water level is laughably low.. but don't worry - the ancient hose is wading in the water for emergencies.. not that I ever saw even a trickle escape its wrinkly lips. G. We decided there's no possible way we can stay here for the amount of money we paid and asked for a cancellation to which the uncaring manager said it's non-refundable. I tried relentlessly and politely to compromise with her and expressed my deepest disappointment, to which the only thing they could offer was a free breakfast... for $215 p/n this isn't already included. I said "this is not enough please can you help me", the manager then said ok but you have to call bookings to cancel. I was on the phone for an hour under the impression I was getting my money back and able to move onto to bigger and better things in my life. Bookings calls me back saying they had spoken to the manager and she has said theres a cancellation fee of $450.. same amount as the room rate. AT THIS STAGE WE HAD NOT FULLY CHECKED IN OR USED ANY FACILITIES. We were literally forced to stay in this cess pit even after expressing how upset we were.. they didn't care one bit. Please note: This may sound like I'm being very precious and I do understand these are 1st world problems but the issue is that this place is advertised as a top end "Resort and Spa" which is reflected in the pricing.. with nothing resembling a resort and nothing resembling a spa. In fact, when asking one of the workers where the spa was.. she said their wasn't one. We stayed In some very basic and cheap accommodation throughout our trip in Philippines, (which we loved), and sadly this ended up being the most dilapidated, rundown place with the least amenities we experienced for easily the highest rate. Even if you're not looking for top end, this place isn't worth it. I would have been disappointed if we had paid a quarter of the price.…
Wardrobes where the wood is peeling, exposed nails and broken wood round the pool, taps in the room that do not work, plugs that get stuck and are fixed with a wire, exposed pipework in the rooms, non sealed tiles in the pool that you could cut your feet on, mold smell in the bathroom and a constant stream of ant attacks, no shower gel...! Who on earth is rating this place so highly!! My doors were sticking and I came back to find tools lying around and my door unlocked with no-one to be seen! This resort is quiet and relaxing - exactly what I was looking for. The staff are excellent, and the food in the restaurant is really nice. The beach is white sands and mainly quiet, there is a bit of rubbish but no amount that is that unusual. However there has not been any upgrades to the room or pool probably since it was opened. I tried to check out a day after arriving (I stayed 5 days) but the owner would not refund me the cost. The photos on all the hotel websites were probably taken when it opened. The reason I wanted to check out was because the resort is extremely over priced. Compare the rooms to other hotels/resorts of similar price and the other rooms and facilities are a massive upgrade. The owner needs to spend his money on maintenance. I complained to management but their hands were tied. I have attached photos of what you will experience in the rooms and pool. The rest of the resort is quite nice and there are many photos of this. Maybe this will prompt the owner to lower the cost or spend some of his $$ to make the rooms/pool match the surroundings.…
Looking for "your own little spot" in this corner of the island? This is the place for peace and solitude. Tucked away from the crowd of Alona Beach, this resort is good for people seeking oneness with nature. The resort itself is very serene...with the staff being very helpful and friendly. Such disappointment to see that the beachfront is not as well kept as expected. The family room...as well as the facilities ---very basic. For the price...maybe they can consider offering a little bit more --- even give the rooms some facelift. The A/C was broken so we had to transfer to the next room. No security locks on the veranda 2nd floor adjacent to the next room. The next room guests can actually access the room if they wanted to. No TV. The A/C broken. The bathroom dividers are curtains --- good for couples but not groups that value privacy. However, the room is very spacious and can accommodate at least 6 people. Child friendly beach. I hope they will consider improving facilities... Very nice resort that needs some attention...sad to just let it go to waste...…
Staff, the rooms, the view and the pool! This place is heaven! White sand beach all to your self, not crowded. Rooms are modern native feels. If you ever been to plantation bay in cebu then this is the mini version of that resort. Kudos to the staff for being polite and hospitable also to the manager! Will likely come back soon! This is my new favorite place also my little girl’s. She loved this little piece of heaven resort.
I had booked the hotel based on photos and I had read reviews that it was quiet but its not until you arrive that you get to experience this in full. The rooms did look to somewhat the same but the photos were probably from when it was first built but has character. The room itself had a balcony with a view of the beach which was nice. The bathroom has that bamboo open feeling and tranquil. there is a fridge but it is not stocked. Nevertheless the king size bed was comfortable and a working air con which made this comfortable. A very nice attentive team on site to attend to all needs There is one restaurant on site and the price I think is bit pricey but given there is nothing else close by it is expected. I can say the food is ok The beach is somewhat maintain by a team every morning, and you will find the locals come around close in vicinity for a swim which is kinda nice. The grounds are also maintained and the wifi only works in the public areas and not in the rooms. The hotel team did assist with organising my day tour of Bohol and I totally enjoyed this. My driver Jovile ? was super friendly and did much of the organising of all my entrance tickets and also a photographer in between. I would totally recommend this tour. The hotel also organised for my transfer to the airport for free which was a surprise. Ruella did check in about how things were going which is nice coz so often you never get to talk to a hotel owner/manager its always their staff. If does have a pool and i think it has a section for kids. so overall its for families and any other traveler only if you would like to be in a quite area and not be disturbed.…
