I didn't know what to expect from this boutique hotel. I didn't realize that there was no pool as I was booking, but oh what a great surprise to be 10 steps from the beach. I didn't even miss a pool.
First, the communication with the front desk was the best I've had even before arriving. They arranged for pickup from the airport so we didn't have to figure it out on our own. Our flight was 2.5 hours late leaving Manila, but I made sure to text the staff about the delay. When we arrived, the driver was waiting with a sign with my name on it. He took our bags and loaded them in the vehicle. He said it was a 10-minute ride and this was so true.
Next, I didn't realize that we would have to walk to the hotel. But as the driver dropped us off at the public beach location, 2 staff members from the hotel met us and carried our bags 5 minutes down the beach. We were so impressed with this touch of service.
As we checked into the hotel, Kim was there to meet us with a smile and the bartender met us with welcome drinks. Check-in was so easy. They walked me and my travel partner to our separate rooms which were clean, spacious, and beautiful. My room was 10 steps from the white, sandy beach. I couldn't believe it!
I am already planning my trip back and have told my friends.
PROS: Beautiful beach, small and intimate, great customer service, clean and spacious rooms, amazing sunrises at your doorstep, very attentive staff.
CONS: While the food was great, I spoke to the staff about having all the ingredients listed on the menu. One morning I ordered French toast. When it arrived, it had chocolate sauce. I'm not a chocolate lover and didn't expect it on my French toast. So I kindly asked for it to be redone without the chocolate. The 2nd time it came back, it had peanut butter in between the slices. Again, these 2 items were not listed on the menu. I expressed my concern that if someone had a nut allergy and took a bit of the food, it may have caused a severe allergic reaction.

Staff are very helpful and friendly, clean and spacious rooms, very good food in their restaurant. The hotel has only 9 rooms, very quiet so you can relax and be away from the crowds, and it's like having your own private beach with white sand. The only negative is they do not have an access road to the hotel so you walk by the beach sand but staff will help carry your luggage.

We stayed here because it was close to a hotel we were attending, and it was amazing. Is beach front and small (has about 9 guest rooms), but all the amenities. Is located on the less crowded part of the beach, which we preferred. The staff was helpful, attentive and friendly, food is good with indoor or outdoor options, as well as a beach side bar. Will definitely stay here again, if the opportunity occurs!

We really enjoyed our stay of 5 nights, the staff were really friendly and really loved our daughter. We came from Siquijor, so the price hike on food was a bit of a surprise but it is a really lovely place to stay.
I'd you fancy going somewhere else for dinner or lunch one day, I recommended walking across the beach to the right, turn right again at the public section and walking up the hill to the Italian at the crossroads. It's a 15minute walk and It's clean and offers something different as you are a little stuck for choice at villa umi in terms of other options, unless you take a tricycle or hire a moped lnto town.
The service was great, they help you with your bags to your room and back again for nothing extra (thank god!) As it's about 1/4 mile from the van drop off!
I also recommend checking out the sunset there, the colours are amazing!

Serene space to unwind and have a wonderful vacation away from the crowds, while near enough to enjoy all Panglao island has to offer. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Tastefully done decor with comfortable seating and well thought of amenities. We will definitely visit and stay there again.

Beach was beautiful, room was spacious, restaurant staffs were friendly, good food, transportation and breakfast are included in package. Room rate is pricey compare to the quality. They didn’t makeup the room so we asked just for new towers on the next day.

Villa Umi is a lovely boutique resort in Bolod, Panglao on the same stretch of beach as South Palms & Bohol Beach Club. I booked this using Agoda based on reviews on Tripadvisor.
From airport pick up to check out, everything went smoothly. The staff is friendly, service is efficient without being obtrusive. The rooms are secure with key card access locks & have all the standard amenities. The bed, pillows, linens, towels were comfortable & of good quality. The bathroom was spacious and spotless as was the rest of the room and common areas. I stayed in the lone double room which is on the ground floor of the property. The suites which all have balconies overlooking the beach are on the second floor & can fit up to 3 to 4 guests.
The restuarant's menu is quite extensive for a small property. I ate most of my meals at the resort but for those who want to explore, there are a few other options along the beach or dozens more a just trike ride away on Alona Beach.
The only con I encountered was that the resort doesn't have direct street access (apparently there are right-of-way issues with other property owners that are being sorted out). You get dropped off at a nearby resort and walk along the beach to get to the property. Inconvenient, but not a deal breaker for me.
With only 5 rooms (4 executive suites & 1 double room) Villa Umi is a good option for those who prefer to stay away from crowded Alona Beach and enjoy the more quiet & laid back side of Panglao. It's also great for small groups that want the whole place to themselves. I have no problem recommending this place and would be happy to stay there again.

The pics on line lead one to believe this is a secluded oasis. Particularly at the 280 per night rate. After walking to the resort as one can’t deive there, it was directly adjacent to a series of bars and local beaches. There were men sleeping in chairs out front that were likely no guest. I normally don’t complain, but after asking them to honor their price match guarantee and them refusing. I made reservations at Amorita. That’s the real deal. This place wanted to keep my 280 but we’ll see how that pans out. It’s more of a place to pass out after drinking than a resort.

We stayed here for 7 days. The airport pickup was complementary as well as the breakfast. It was only 15 mins from Bohol airport. We had to walk beachside for 10 mins to reach the hotel, as no direct road to the hotel yet. However, the service minded staff assisted with our luggage. We had room in first floor and entrance from the bar. Outside our room was a small sitting group where we enjoyed our evenings, practically directly in the restaurant/bar area. The room was very small and the bed very small, however comfortable. And the hotel was nearly new, so no old smelling room. Only thing we were missing, was a comfortable chair in the room with a small table, but we spent most of our time outside the room door. The staff was quite fresh and still needed more practise, however were polite and quick learning. There was a couple of other restaurants neareby and Bohol Beach Club, however to have night life, you had to take a tricycle about 15 mins to Alona Beach. The hotel beach was nice and quite, only missing water to swim in the morning, as tide water did not bring water before 13-14.00 in the afternoon. This small hotel is best for adults as no swimming pool. The food served was well prepared. Breakfast was set plate and not buffet, but that is understandable when only 5 rooms. As we had our room next to the inside bar ,reseption as well as the kitchen, we woke up 7 in the morning, when the staff started the music and talked loudly in the restaurant and reception area. However, we did not mind as we enjoyed the day outside. The hotel was priced in upper level to be so small. Was told that the owner of the hotel was staying there same time as us, however he did not even approach the guest and asked if all was ok. That is unusal for me as I am used to in Asia that the management/owners approach guests and ensure that they are enjoying their stay. Can highly recommend a stay here and the staff are so friendly that you feel you are a part of a family.

We were able to get a 2 nights stay here and we were really happy with the accommodation and service. The receptionists and waitstaff were all so warm and friendly. Our room was well kept and tidy. Not too spacious but it didn't matter. The only downside would be the AC didn't get that cold when we wanted it to, and since we got this room that's directly in front of the beach which is great (it was just right by their lobby,) it was also directly by the dining area - literally 3 steps from our door would be dining customers. Luckily, it was off peak (kind of) so there were no crowds of people having breakfast when we wake up. It would have been a different story in the summer time though. The other thing was there was construction of some sort, so from the car, we had to park at another resort's place (Villa Umi took care of the entrance fee of that other resort so we can pass through) and walk about 5-7mins.to get to Villa Umi. Hope that construction is done by now though. I loved their food too, it was a small menu but everything we ordered for breakfast and dinner, I really loved and my husband agrees. It is a very basic hotel, with a quaint space. Their beachfront is awesome, too. It might be small but this place definitely has its charms.♡
