This all inclusive exceeded all our expectations. Our room was perfect - comfortable bed and spacious. The pools were both great. We spent a lot of time at the quiet pool and pool bar. The bar tenders were so friendly and created some fun drinks for us. The main pool had pool side bbqs and a variety of activities that were fun to partake in. The a la carte restaurants were all good - the best being the Don Pablo. Try the fillet mignon! The beach had a very tropical feel with all the palm trees - I loved it! We did one excursion to Saona Island which was so worth it. This is tropical island magazine worthy! The best thing though were the staff! They went above and beyond in every way. There has been some negative press lately but we saw nothing that indicated problems. In fact we felt so safe and welcomed to this lovely resort and the island.

We were fortunate to have our third 2 week stay at Bouganville in April. This resort just keeps getting better !! Thank you Janet for ensuring our room was so clean and for decorating on our last day !! The grounds and entire resort are so clean !! The beach is quiet and we never had a problem finding a spot. Our last few trips to Punta Cana were so busy and crowded. We loved the quiet beach at Bouganville and enjoyed our daily walks !! We never had a bad meal. We love Don Pablo, my husband enjoyed his steak and I loved the salmon. The buffet was excellent and we had so many options !! The staff at the buffet were exceptional !! Thank you to Jose Abel, Debit , Buenaventura, Roberto ,Joaquin and Carlos. The entire staff are wonderful and did everything they could to make our vacation great !! Papa loved his red wine and we loved our decorated table !!! You made us feel like family !!! Thank you to Assistant Manager Maria for always checking on us, we loved talking to you. Thank you to our friend Victor, Housekeeping Supervisor, you are the best !! We totally enjoyed our third vacation to Bouganville and cannot wait to return !!! Thank you to the entire staff !! The staff make Bouganville a 5 star resort !!!

just spent the best holiday of our lives,all the staff, from reception through to the gardeners all are friendly,helpful and smile and respond to our hellos with hand shakes or hugs. in all the restaurants the staff are amazing and welcoming.animation team good entertainment, work hard for you,hotel and grounds are kept to highest standards,would highly recommend this paradise if you want a relaxed carefree holiday, only drawback is difficult to choose somewhere else to go, as will be comparing with here,SO have to return in 2020 hooray......

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience while staying at the hotel even though the place itself seems to be beautiful and customer friendly. I rented a car from EUROPECAR which is available at the hotel reception area so supported by the hotel itself. Gave the car keys back as instructed to the reception by the EUROPECAR representative yet I HAVE BEEN OVERCHARGED for extra day over 100 USD. I returned the car in the perfect condition to the hotel reception on time, yet without the receipt provided I have been charged for three days when I only rented a car for two. It’s impossible to communicate with the reception, I have sent several emails already but nobody seems to be bothered. I need them to help me with the proof that I returned the keys to them (which is CCTV footage for example) but I guess after you leave the hotel nobody cares anymore. To be able to dispute the transaction I need hotel confirmation since I did give the keys to the reception, nobody responded to my emails since May. Please do not rent a car there, they use this situation to overcharge clients, also it really shows how they care about their guests. They may be nice when you’re there but after care does not really exist. Be careful when paying for anything make sure you’re get your receipt while making a payment! I am still expecting someone from customer service to contact me!

I visited the Adults only Luxury section of the hotel and found all of the facilities and rooms to be excellent, and certainly on par with other Luxury facilities locally . I chose the all inclusive option and expected this to match the other ‘ competitive ‘ hotels. I was really surprised however when the only offering for an ‘ alcohol free’ option was coke , water or slush puppies. This falls well short of the local Hilton ( Dreams Hotel ) where they specifically get non alcoholic beer in if requested . The Bahia told me it is unavailable although the shop on the complex have it for sale !! To be a true 5 star hotel you have to make the effort to cater for all , not everyone wants to drink alcohol and they need to take this into consideration. 95% could so easily have been 100% Also whilst I appreciate that not everyone is English speaking it would be helpful if the staff had a passing understanding. In the end you just give up ( maybe that is the plan ! )
