Fabulous old villa with large private suites, balconies and views. Whilst the rooms were good the atmosphere in the hotel was cold and unwelcoming. You were given a key for the main entrance to come and go as you pleased which had more the feeling of a guesthouse rather than an expensive hotel. A little more interaction from the owner/staff... My son and his girlfriend, two other sons and I stayed at this beautiful hotel for 2 nights last week. When we arrived (snowing heavily), there was not a soul to be seen, and we felt that we had perhaps arrived at someone's private but huge and elegant home by mistake!! The owner arrived home soon after and showed us... More

We stayed here in the summer, absolutely loved it. First impression leaves you with a bit of worry because it was quite difficult to find and didn't have any signs to say that it was the Alpenvilla. We soon realised it was because this was a very quiet and discrete little gem. The owners work very hard to keep the... More

We stayed here in June 2013 as a way to get away. It was a short walk to town, which we did everyday and very close to attractions to which we wanted to drive (Konigsee). We had very personal service, including restaurant recommendations and directions, and personal breakfast in addition to the traditional European continental breakfast of pastries, cheese and... The hotel is very very quiet and has no atmosphere. Breakfast is fine. That's it. The town is 15 mins walk downhill and 20 mins walk back uphill. Parking is 150 metres away. No telephone in the room. Kettle was provided for tea.

We stayed at the Alpenvilla Berchtesgaden from October 6 to 10, 2012. Our room was newly renovated and it included a vestibule at the entrance, a living room, bedroom, walk-in-closet and large bathroom which included a steam bath. There was a wrap around balcony which could be accessed from the living room or the bedroom. Breakfast was included each morning... More
