Stayed st the end of Nov so understandably quiet. The staff were all without exception pleasant and friendly. Hotel was spotless throughout. Got a bit fed up with the same choice of breakfast each day but not sure how much more they could have laid on. The spa area was locked, outside pool was being emptied and bar area closed( despite it being 23 deg Four things that really irritated me - -there was no facility to make a hot drink in our room but you could order room service for 10 euro plus the cost of the coffee! - there was no iron in the room and you are not allowed to take your own. In fact there was no facility at all to iron clothing apart from sending out of the hotel to be done. - apparently it is illegal (Italian law) to take any food or drink into the room. There were no local( within a 20 min drive so it was either stay out in the evening or use the restaurant with its expensive limited menu - the Hotel suffers from slamming door syndrome. No need for an early morning alarm because it starts from about 0730 until maybe 0900 Id be interested to see if there is any difference in the summer.

I recently returned to the Restaurant with my family and must say that this place has successfully maintained a consistent high level quality: from the caring service to the excellent cuisine. We had a wide selection of seafood starters whose freshness was undisputed. We also had a memorable dish of lobster linguine. The remarkable desserts concluded a great lunch. One last remark for those who have never been there: the close proximity to the sea is the icing on the cake.

For our yearly corporate seminar we stayed in Grand Baia Verde. It was a great experience for our group of 60 people. Our main contact person was Guiseppe from the event department. He did a wonderfull job arranging everything we needed at the hotel. The communication in advance also went very well. The hotel staff was very friendly and the service they delivered was very high. The venue of the hotel is beyond beautiful with a 360 sea view. All collegues were very content with everything. Thank you for having us (Van Iperen International Group).

We used it as a base for our visits to Mt Etna. As such it provided the facilities we needed. We found the rooms small and cramped and somewhat noisy as others have noted. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. Not up to its 4 star rating.

Very pleasantly surprised by fabulous large salt swimming pool and sea view and volcanic swimming spot with lovely cocktail bar snd plenty of sun loungers. The hotel has an authentic Italian family vibe which we loved, with lots of multigenerational Italian guests. We didn’t try the spa/massage facilities or diving club as on a short stay but good to know they are there. Bed was very comfy with good showers and lovely plentiful living room areas and courtyards. There was a great varied breakfast but the evening meal options were limited and pricey so eating elsewhere felt better. Acireale was a short drive and the centre well worth a visit with lovely churches and cafes. Outside the hotel, the street and area feels very grotty unless you like local Italian beach club nightlife ( we were too old!). We were amazed the hotel was so quiet and luxurious. We’d come back.

A lovely hotel, clean room and nice balcony to enjoy the sun. The shower was decent and room was cleaned everyday. Lots of single use plastic and very little options for recycling which was a shame. Breakfast was great, a huge variety of options and all fresh each day. It was a bit tricky to get help from staff as they did not speak much English but we got by! A shame that the pool was closed. Well maintained garden areas and stunning sea views. The location isn't ideal for Catania, the bus is hourly and cheap though so good if you manage to figure out the system. The bar was overpriced but staff were friendly. We enjoyed our stay and it was comfortable. We did not enjoy the restaurant at all, very limited options and the food was just fine. It was very expensive for what we got but the dessert was nice.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel Biai Verde in Catania Italy. Its an old school elegant type of hotel on the coast - they were in the process of refinishing the outside access to the sea. Although the pool does not officially open until June (I snuck in) and its a great pool. The Breakfast was included and was really significant. Parking was free as was the NET - Room was very clean and they have old school maids that do a nice job - the Hotel has not yet been impacted by the green wave so you get new towels every day. Staff was kind and helpful. If returning to the aera I would stay there again. Special thanks to Matt from the Front Desk - he was very help before we arrived and attentive while we were there and he helped make our stay a great one - a positive attitude goes a long way!

Hotel is nice, good swimming pool and beautiful volcanic beach. We liked it. Service was ok, but air conditioning wasn’t working properly so we need to call reception to fix it. Hotel is not modern, but room is comfortable and food is ok. We used spa for massage and it was fine. In general good Impressionen for the money we paid. You’ll need about 15-20 min to get to Catania city center. Not far from airport.

This hotel is the definition of mediocre. Small things: cheap plastic glasses in the room, no tissues, they never replaced the water I drank from the minibar, no ATM, reception couldn’t provide me with or even sell me an electric adapter. No shop for sundries of any sort. In fact nothing but your room, the terrace and pool, and a restaurant. They have a diving school, but no… There is a spa, where the receptionist was rude to me when I inquired about a manicure. In fact, not one employee except the sweet young lady who cleaned my room, appeared to care if a guest was alive or dead. The Wi-Fi is very very weak or nonexistent. I can get a couple of bars if I’m sitting on the toilet. The grounds staff decided to mow the grass patch beside my patio in the half hour before lunch today, three feet from where I was sitting even after I retreated indoors. There’s no beach. The hotel perches on some very picturesque lava cliffs that you can’t see from anywhere in the hotel. Pity, since the rooms are comfortable and the restaurant is good. I’m checking out two days early though I already paid for the stay.
