We had such a wonderful stay at the Daina. After reading some of the reviews from earlier in the season I was a bit concerned that we had made a mistake but we definitely didn’t. Our room at the side was really quite large and amazing views, though I think from looking from the outside we probably had one of the larger rooms. My parents were in one of the smaller rooms and it was perfect for them with amazing views at the front. The staff were great and some were exceptional. Breakfast buffet fantastic and sitting on the terrace was just lovely. We were there for five nights and enjoyed the evening meals, but my parents who were there for longer struggled a bit with the limited choices. Pool location is just stunning and lemon bars lovely atmosphere in evening, we had no problem getting sun beds when we wanted them but it was October! Overall location was absolutely perfect for us. We were holidaying with my parents, it was perfect for my dad with limited mobility. The hotel is right in the middle of everything so easy access to restaurants, bars etc, there is a real nice buzz but it’s not noisy at night time, the staff were very helpful in helping us order a mobility scooter for him. Since most recent reviews have commented on the uniform! I liked it, I liked the good quality of service without formality.…
Nearly 30 years of visiting Puerto Pollensa and numerous times at the Daina. However we feel sadly this will be our last. We stayed last year after the facelift and it has freshened the hotel a lot. Staying in a sea view room and the fantastic views are well worth the extra. However, the bathroom stank of dirty drains, they unsuccessfully tried to fix it but the shower wasn’t draining properly and it was obvious it was a longer term issue. Fortunately the lovely lady who did the rooms, poured some strong disinfectant down and did it again a couple of days later. It kept the smell at bay but the hotel needs to do some serious work on keeping the bathroom drains flushed. For a four star hotel and premium prices such an obnoxious smell is not acceptable. The Daina is adults only from next year, however they are not offering half board and evening dining is apparently downstairs and not in the restaurant ( my understanding is that is only for breakfast) huge shame as we enjoyed our evening meals on the first floor terrace. We eat at the many fantastic restaurants in PP when we are in apartments or other hotels. The staff are friendly and were as helpful as always but I slightly agree with another review that the casual uniform they wear could be smarter, as other Hoposa hotels. The Daina’s main feature is its unique (for PP) pool area, jutting out into the sea with incredible views. Very relaxing and no sun bed fights in October. Staff at the Lemon Bar were courteous and friendly and the seating area very comfortable for lunch or a coffee when spending a day round the pool. …
I recently spent two weeks in the Daina hotel, it was absolutely fantastic, we had a great time. The staff were so friendly and helpful with anything that we needed. We have already booked our stay for next year. The location is brilliant, with the beach and a great pool at your doorstep, along with many restaurants and shops. The breakfast buffet is definitely worth adding to your booking, the food is brilliant. The staff really make the Daina standout. Marta, Valentina and Antoni, at the front of house were so friendly and welcoming, they helped us with bookings and more than accommodated any requests we had. Manolo and Bernard, at the pool and Margarita in the dining room, we’re extremely helpful and pleasant, they were great. The staff here are fantastic. Definitely recommend staying at the Daina.…
We have visited the Daina since 1998 with a 3 year break because of Covid. We knew the Hotel was being refurbished and followed the progress online. We were very excited to be back and were welcomed by two lovely ladies on reception. We use an adapted room with a wet room and were very surprised and disappointed at the condition of the handrails and shower seat they were rusty and tarnished which gave them a grubby appearance. The bedroom was also unsuitable for guests with mobility issues. The hotel has lost its friendliness especially the front terrace and bar, the waiters never smiled. We spoke to other people who had visited for years and they all said the Daina was not the same. The pool and bar were as special as ever with the lovely Manolo, he welcomed us and was very kind he is the star of the hotel. Also the uniforms are totally unsuitable for a four star hotel, Hawaiian shirts with casual untidy trousers. Other Hoposa hotels in Puerto Pollensa have the smart black and white uniforms. We will be booking another hotel next year as we didn’t feel the Daina offered the same experience as we enjoyed for the last 20 years.…
We stayed for 7 nights in a sea front room in the gorgeous Daina Hotel! I have been coming to Puerto Pollenca for 27 years and this was our first time in the Daina. We have been going for drinks or some food there over the years but never stayed. I’m glad we decided to this time! The pool was the main attraction for me and the staff at the pool, like Manolo and Bernard, couldn’t have been more lovely and helpful! The staff in the hotel especially Marta, Antoni and Valentina were amazing and made our stay so easy and relaxing! Margarita in the restaurant was one of the nicest and caring people I have come across. We were celebrating a special occasion while we were here and she set up a breakfast table decorated in gorgeous flowers for us. It made it really special! All the staff made us feel like they had known us years and couldn’t have done more to make it the perfect holiday! I would highly recommend the Daina for anyone who is thinking of coming to Puerto Pollenca!…
I stayed here for eight nights in a side facing, sea view room, which included a lounge. The view was lovely, overlooking the sea and the mountains. There was a very long balcony, which stretched from outside the lounge to the bedroom. Unfortunately, due to the hotel's position, the balcony was quite noisy at times, and I was on the 4th floor. Although I have slept on worst beds, I have also slept on more comfortable ones. What I really missed was a dressing table - there was nowhere to put any clothes or toiletries/make up, which you really need in a bedroom. The safe, mini bar, drawers and hanging rail was in a 'walk in cupboard' in the lounge. The rail was far too high for someone who is only 5'2" - I had to stand on tip toe to be able to take my clothes down. The drawers I found too difficult to open as they had some sort of magnetic 'pull', so I had to keep my underwear in my suitcase - not ideal. The mini bar was on the floor, which isn't ideal when you've got a bad back. The only sockets in the bedroom were behind the bedside tables, and could only be reached by getting down on your knees, and at the age of 75, not a great idea, so I had to use the one that was in the lounge to charge my mobile - again not ideal. On the plus side, the hotel is in a lovely position, close to restaurants, small shops, and of course, the beach. A short walk takes you up to the bus station. The shower was lovely - much better than mine at home! The sofa in the lounge was extremly comfy, and there was a tv in both rooms, with three English channels on (BBC1 & 2, and ITV4). There was plenty of choice for breakfast, and it was lovely being able to sit out on the terrace to eat it. Oh and last, but not least, the reception staff were lovely and helpful! I'm sure this hotel would suit many people, but, for reasons I have stated, I wouldn't stay here again.…
Popped in to have lunch which took a while to arrive and was cold. After we’d paid we moved on to their terrace to be in the sun. The staff wouldn’t allow us to move a couple of chairs. We left very unimpressed.
The hotel itself is lovely and the breakfast superb. Our experience was spoiled by the rude and dismissive service in the main bar - orders ignored, difficulty paying the bill and outright hostility from the waiters - will not be coming back
We have just returned from 10 wonderful days at the Daina. It was our fifth time there but we had not been since September 19 due to Covid. Having read some negative comments on this forum I was worried that the hotel may have gone downhill. This was not the case! The staff were wonderful. Special thanks to Margarita, Augustine, Rebecca and of course Manolo at the pool bar, and the Lifeguard. Reception staff were all lovely and helpful. We went half board and the meals were great, plenty of choice, the menu changed every second night and was different on. Sunday, each evening had five or six choices at each course including fish and vegetarian dishes. The service was excellent and enhanced by a wonderful view sitting on the terrace looking over the bay and watching the yachts coming in and out of the marina. We had a sea view room which was immaculate and kept so throughout our stay. The pool was fabulous as usual and yes, there were a few people who waited for opening time to reserve a favourite spot, and annoying though this is there was always plenty of sun beds to choose from. Everyone we spoke to was having a marvellous time. Thanks to everyone at the Daina…… we will be back.…
We visited the Hotel Daina for a long weekend and brought my parents as a treat for my Mum’s 70th birthday. We had visited the resort in June this year and walked post the hotel and thought how lovely it looked. We weren’t disappointed. The hotel is in a superb location right on the front and a stones through from the square. The only hotel to feature an outdoor pool in front of it too. The rooms we booked were just standard ones but we were happy with them both. Very roomy, clean, comfortable bed, great walk in shower, free safe, balcony and a fridge which we could store water etc in. Not that I go away to watch TV but they featured BBC 1&2 and Channel 4, as it wasn’t long after the Queens passing it was good to be able to watch some news. The pool area is such a bonus, seawater pool with plenty of sun loungers and we could always find one even on hot days. A nice pool bar where we could get drinks, I think that they did snacks too but we didn’t have any. This pool is transformed in the evening to the Lemon Bar with live music. Great for an afternoon drink! We stayed B&B and the breakfast was great! So much choice! Cereals, pastries, hot food, pancakes, freshly made omelettes and plenty of non stop tea, coffee and juices! The bar at the front was again in a lovely spot for a drink. All staff work so hard, maybe they are understaffed but they are still so friendly always stopping to say hello! Antoni on the reception was very nice and helpful. Yes the price of the rooms aren’t cheap but you’re paying for a great location on the front with a fantastic swimming pool! I wouldn’t hesitate in returning to this Hotel again! I would…
