We spent 10 days at Duva in July / August as a family of 4 and it was excellent. We stayed in a premium 2 bedroom apartment which had loads of space - 2 large separate bedrooms (each had twin beds pushed together which we could therefore separate for the kids room) then a large lounge / kitchen area and balcony. The kitchen was fully equipped with large fridge and small freezer and plenty of crockery if you need it. Bathroom fine with shower over bath. Fairly basic fixtures but everything you need. AC worked well in bedrooms and lounge and apartment kept cool. BBC tv in all rooms which was nice to watch the olympics when escaping the sun! Cleaners attended regularly and changed towels/made up beds.

You can hire beach towels from reception - 10 euro deposit for each that you get back at the end and you can change them 3 times a week. Charge of 25 euros for the safe which was a bit annoying - should be included.

We had B&B so enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was extensive - yogurt/fruit/cereal plus cooked breakfast, bread, pastries, eggs, omelettes, cheeses. Good coffee. Runs until 10am. Staff work really hard there.

Pool areas all well maintained - we enjoyed the Duvabitat pool most which was a bit quieter than the main pool and the premium pool too was fairly quiet. There needs to be more sun umbrellas though - finding a lounger was fine but not enough umbrellas which was hard as it was very hot.

Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Luciano was brilliant with the kids - we joined in the evening Bingo and other activities when we got back from dinner in Puerto Pollensa. Very relaxed and fun while having a drink from the bar. We also enjoyed Lucianio's walk over the hill to the next village which was beautiful. He is great fun and really made the trip.

We hired a car from reception which was 58 Euros a day and enjoyed trips to the water park (20 mins) and Palma, Pollensa and the Caves of Ham which were amazing.

Puerto Pollensa is about 10-15 mins walk from Duva. We often got the courtesy bus there (runs from 10am to 12) and walked back via the big supermarket for supplies and to break up the hot walk with a bit of AC! The bus also runs down in the evening but the last one is at 7 which was a little early. The walk back after dinner once the sun has gone down is fine.

Lots of places to eat in Pollensa Port - both along the seafront and in the square. Plenty of great places for gelato.

The gym was fine - we used it a little for the treadmill but it was very hot in there. Massage v disappointing - definitely not spa standard - think it's designed more as a sports massage for cyclists - not relaxing and in a noisy room with bright lights so i would avoid.

Overall a brilliant stay - kids want to come back next year!!

Dear Kate: Thank you for the time you have taken in writing a review about your fantastic stay. We really love to read you liked our setting in the apartments. I laso forward your comments to our staff, from restaurant, kitchen to Luciano. Everybody strives to provide the best service. I have taken note about your suggestion regarding the sunbeds. It's complicated to find the appropiate timing for our transfer, but It's also noted. I apologize for the massage issue. I'm sure we can do better. Thanks again for choosing to stay with us and we can’t wait to welcome you back. Yours sincerely.

Pros: The complex is very nice with 2 accessible pools. Buoys and balloons are also available for fun. A snack is available for lunch and a buffet (untested) for the evening. In addition, a restaurant is also nearby with longer hours and quality cuisine. The apartment is very nice with basic necessities (dishware, sponge, dish towels...), very useful air conditioning, a small patio to rinse the jerseys and dry the things. We are also very happy with the location of the apartment, both to visit the island but also in relation to local life (close to the beach and town and shops - 5 min drive and possible on foot also 1.5 km)

Cons: For 4 people (2 adults and 2 children 11 and 14 years) the rooms are a little fair. The master bedroom is fine, but the second bedroom is very small with only a small single bed. As a result, a child slept in the living room (which was not expected) on the sofa bed (which had a moderately comfortable mattress), but this can be awkward for some people. Cleanliness, we were a bit disappointed by the cleaning of the floor (disappointment can be reinforced by the wear of the covering, but I don't think the mop was thoroughly passed before our arrival ...) However, during our stay, nothing to say about the cleaning done daily.

This was our 6th visit to Duva.  We love the hotel and the location but we really love the staff, they could not do any more to make your stay more special.

Pedro, Pablo, Andrea, Ana, Maria, and Reuban could not do any more than they do. Between them, they run the pool / snack bar 7 days a week, from 10 am till just before midnight. At times, they also work in the hotel restaurant and Giravolta (the on-site Italian restaurant).  They welcome you with a genuine smile. They give excellent service and work hard all day long, and they are faultless.

The rooms are very nice, clean and well equipped, you get a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and tea / coffee in the kitchen. In our room we always had two single beds in one room and a large sofa bed in the other, there also is a tv in each of the  bedrooms, one of which is a smart tv.  Duva supply washing up liquid, sponges, and cloths as well as hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner.

The cleaners do an amazing job, the rooms are always left spotless, and you get fresh towels and beds made beautifully every day. It's also the little things that the cleaning staff do. If you leave your curtains open, they close them to keep the sun out. On one of our stays, when the cleaners were in our room, my son who was about 8 at the time had won lots of teddy bears and the cleaners made the beds then lined up all the teddies on the bed. Its something little, but it took them extra time it meant so much to us and our son.

When it comes to entertainment, Luciano is the best you could wish for.  During the day, he organises various events, including rifle shooting, pony trecking, zorbs on the pool, and a local market trip. There are also daily challenges for the guests lasting from 10 minutes to half an hour where you can win a free drink, these are for both adults and children.  In the evenings, Luciano starts with the childrens disco, where each night, the children learn various dances and have loads of fun. Then at 9 pm its bingo where Luciano is, as always hillarious having fun with the guests. Once the bingo is over, the main entertainment begins, which could be karaoke, a live magician (who is amazingly entertaining and funny), or it could be live music. The shows end at about 11pm, and then the bar closes each night at 11.45pm.  The whole entertainment package at Duva is wonderful, no matter what age you are. It is enjoyable, and there's something for everyone, thanks mainly to Lucianos' enthusiasm and continuous commitment.

Duva is a wonderful place with amazing staff, has beautiful grounds, and is very clean, tidy, and hygienic.  It is a great holiday location and a place that makes memories that last a lifetime. After 6 holidays at Duva, we love it more than ever.

First time at this hotel and it has everything you need. We went self catering as we did not want to be confined to the hotel and there are so many beautiful restaurants to eat in. We paid extra for a pool view room which was worth it as our room was situated in the main building and other guests had rooms across the main building which I would not have liked. It was very handy going to and from our room due to the close proximity. Main pool was great, no issues with getting sun loungers and the pool is never that busy. Pool had a kids pool which is very convenient for young kids who are non swimmers. I love the fact that kids were allowed to have inflatables as the hotel we were staying last year in Tenerife did not allow this.

The rooms itself are sufficient for 2 adults and two kids. The kitchens are well equipped and I liked the fact that they provide a new sponge and cleaning cloth! The beds are very comfy too, the wardrobes have plenty of hangers, draw space etc. There are additional blankets and cushions if required. The TV also included Netflix in our room which was great as we watched a movie every night after returning from dinner. Handwash, shampoo and body wash are provided in the bathroom as well as washing up liquid for dishes.

We didn't really use any of the hotel amenities except for the bus to the beach every night for dinner, although it only runs at certain times during the week, we made sure we were always downstairs waiting for the bus before 7pm.

All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and we would come back again.

Amazing stay at duva and would definitely stay again. First time to Majorca (2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 4)
Apartment clean and spacious and beds very comfy. We stayed self catering and kitchenette had everything you need including washing up liquid, clothes, tea towels.
Bathroom spacious with bath and shower. Shower very powerful and nice and hot if wanted. Shower gel, shampoo and hand wash included
Hotel has daily entertainment which the kids loved ranging from mini golf, padel, water polo, football, pool, darts and more. Entertainer did a great job getting the kids and adults involved
Nightly entertainment children’s disco, bingo each night and then after either singer, karaoke, games etc.
3 pools, 2 are deep and one is shallow however deep pool next to the bar also had children pool which was shallow.
Restaurant next door capped girovolta was lovely and 10% off for hotel guests
Gym also included which was very well equipped and free to use for guests just book a time at reception
Shuttle bus ran Monday to Friday 10-12 and 5-7 for free to the beach provided by the hotel which was great for kids who aren’t fans of walking. Outside of these times occasionally we walked which was around 15 minutes to the centre or if very hot we got the 322 bus on main road 2 min walk from the hotel to centre. Tap in and out with card. Was about £1.50 per person. Or taxi was only 5euro each way.
Beach is beautiful! Shallow clear water and very clean with toilets and showers.
We would definetly visit duva again. We had a great stay!

We have stayed at Duva many times over the years as a family. This was our first time in the premium apartments which were spacious clean and overall very nice. I think a bit of on going maintenance would be a good idea some very minor issues, TVs in bedroom’s weren’t working, door lock on main door needed attention, but these are only minor issues which were sorted quickly by reception and maintenance staff. The apartments are in a great location near the on site gym indoor pool and spa and access to three outdoor pools. There is always plenty of free parking. The food at Duva is very good especially the Lunch menu at the out door pool bar which caters for all tastes both young and not so young. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and always there to help Day and night. Duva is in a lovely location with views of the mountains and a 15 minute walk to Puerto Pollenca and the beach front and the pine walk, shops, bars fine restaurants and the beautiful port with boat trips, scuba, jet skiing and many more water sports, or just to stroll around the port to look at the many terrific boats and yachts.
Overall we had a great experience at Duva again and will return next year, this was our second trip this year and we really enjoyed it. We have been coming to Duva for 25 years on and off and it never fails to disappoint.
Duva also caters for cyclists all year round and is very welcoming for groups and solo individuals. Thanks Duva and well done.

Aspects to improve:
- Acoustic insulation in the rooms. Urgently need a window change! (Being on the 1st floor at 7:00 in the morning I was woken up by the voices of those who tidy up the pool area, telling each other their things at the top of their voices”, I heard them as if I were inside the room)
- Quite poor quality breakfast for paying €12. Waffles like a rock and poor quality cold cuts. It is undoubtedly more worthwhile to go to Port de Pollença and have breakfast, for example, at Ca les Monges for half.
- Extremely hard mattress and very poor and low pillow.
- Old bathtub not in keeping with the rest of the apartment, which in theory is completely renovated.

Positive aspects;
- The Giravolta restaurant next to the hotel.
- Clean pools and quiet outdoor area.
- Spa where minors can access.

We stayed for 9 nights with our two young children under 3.

Upon arrival with all our luggage, we were checked in at reception, this was fairly straightforward and we were given our cards. No help was offered taking our luggage + children upstairs to our allocated room.

We chose the confort apartment which is the newly refurbished part of the hotel. First impressions of the room were ok, nothing special. We soon noticed grimy shower fixings, scaled shower head, and mouldy air con vents that we didn’t want our 3 year old and 9 month old breathing in the whole trip.

We asked to upgrade (and pay the difference) to avoid the inevitable confrontation we felt would come from complaining. Unfortunately the 2 bed premium apartments were full which is understandable so we then decided to raise our issues regarding our current room.

We showed pictures of the above issues stated and asked for an alternative. There was no apology, just a few sighs and a reluctant attempt at finding us a different room. One was found, and we were given the new cards. Again, no apology and no offer to help move the luggage to the next room. One lady from reception did see us struggling and helped by pointing in the direction of the room.

The new room was better but not perfect. It was passable for the remainder of the stay, and much quieter.

Breakfast staff were very friendly and engaging but unfortunately for the food was nothing special. We had one small issue in particular regarding food in the restaurant but as it was dealt with so well, we’ve decided not to mention the specifics.

The pools were deep and clarity was good, but the white plastic overflow grating around the edge of the pool was absolutely filthy with mould all in between.

We didn’t bother escalating this to reception because of the inevitable attitude and lack of interest we would receive.

Overall this hotel was probably once something great, but whatever it may have once had, has definitely been lost.

The port 15 mins down the road was beautiful, I would recommend spending a little extra and getting a newer hotel closer to the beach.

Thanks to the select few who were willing to make our stay enjoyable.

Dear guest: Thank you very much for your time sharing your experience with us despite is not the one we would love to read. We are really sorry for the experiences you describe and we want to thank you for giving us your feedback, all of them help us to improve. Unfortunately we do not have porter service, would be nice to have someone to help our guests with the luggage. I'll try find out which apartment where you in to check the issues you report and find a definitive solution. It's also makes us feel bad reading that our breakfast was not up to your expectatives. We will check the pool area to find the area by the pool that needs a clean up. I'm also sorry to read about the reception actitude, I'll forward it tio our front desk manager to find a solution for that. The issue at the restaurant gives me a sweet-sour sensation, I love to read that they were very friendly and the reacted fine about and issue you had, but I would prefer not reading about you initially had a problem. Please, I kindly request you to accept my deepest apologies for leaving on you this feeling about our hotel. Yours sincerely.

Booked The Duva never having been to Mallorca based on the images and reviews we had read. We loved every aspect of the accommodation. The rooms were a bit bigger than expected with all amenities covered. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows and although the bathroom a bit dated the shower was powerful and always plenty of hot water. There's no need to rush for sun beds are as there are plenty. The staff are all very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. We loved the location as the beach and restaurants were only about a 15 to 20 minute walk. We were self catering but precooked breakfast and so pleased we did, the selection on offer was fantastic as was the food itself. We are already looking forward to returning next year.

I returned to Aparthotel having been there last year and it didn't disappoint. The apartment was perfectly clean and well appointed with everything I needed in the kitchen. Having a sunset view balcony overlooking the mountains to the West to relax on after rides was great. The staff were, great, very friendly and helpful throughout, from the reception to the bar and restaurant which serves good dinners at a very reasonable price.
Also the cycle storage is secure with a service option on site and the location offers plenty of different, varied routes for cycling and exploring. Too cold for the pool at this time but it looked great.
I'm sure I will return again.
