Detailed Reviews
Stayed at this lovely little hotel for 4 days with my sister and would thoroughly recommend. Its location is ideal if you like to be in the heart of things. It is just a very short walk to the beautiful beach. We stayed in room 103 whose balcony is out onto a busy street in the middle of several bars. We loved sitting out there in the evenings, enjoying a glass of cava and soaking up the atmosphere. Our room was really spacious with a separate lounge area. It was also surprisingly quiet when the balcony door was closed. Very clean and comfortable. The rooftop terrace was a nice place to relax when it was cloudy but very hot when the sun was out as there’s no shade up there. The breakfast was a great start to each day with a good selection of fruit, pastries, bread, cheese and meat. Great coffee from the machine too. The staff were friendly and allowed us to use the shower on the rooftop after checkout as well as the lounge area on floor 1 which we were very grateful for as we had a late flight. If you like being amidst the bustling nightlife then this is the place for you.

Hotel and staff make this an excellent holiday location, in the hub of all that Port de Pollensa has to offer. No need for car, good local bus services to visit other towns and villages and taxis are abundant at the bus hub close buy. Would not hesitate to return. The staff are all 5 stars. Go try.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel, excellent location, just off the main square, 3 mins to the Port and Beach as well as fantastic restaurants.
Staff were so friendly and extremely helpful.
The Hotel was very clean, rooms serviced daily with fresh towels. Beach towels are provided. Breakfast was continental buffet, fresh and delicious. Some of the rooms overlook the street where there are bars and restaurants ( close 11.30/12) so when booking as for a quiet room - ours was perfect.

The hotel is very near some good restaurants etc however it has no customer parking but we found a public parking area a few blocks away which is not ideal if walking with luggage.
The shower was constantly cold and lacked pressure, the beds were extremely soft and were not comfortable at all however the location next to a bar was the main issue and drunken yelling and shouting kept going to 3am on a Thursday and Friday night, we were at the back of the hotel.
I appreciate if you want a central location you will be beside bars etc but If you want a peaceful night then bring ear plugs.
The welcome drink was a lovely idea but instead of cava I asked for a small beer instead which I was asked to pay for which defeats the sentiment of a welcome drink.
The breakfast was adequate with the usual ham cheese bread etc but no hot food options available with the staff slow to replenish items - in summary not worth the price.

Dear Guest: First of all we would like to thank you for your feedback and impressions about our accommodation as this is the best way to know where we need to improve. On the other hand, we are sorry that your rest has been conditioned by the nightlife of some locals around. As you know, we are located in the centre of the town, 1 minute from the beach and close to all the services that Puerto Pollença has to offer. This fact can lead to other less positive aspects, such as the noise that can occur at very specific times of the day or week. Also, with regard to your comments about the car park, we would urge you and our future guests to stop and leave their luggage at the hotel before parking. The short walk of just 4 minutes is quite manageable if you don't carry the luggage on your back. Finally, we take serious note of your comments regarding our facilities and the service we offer. We hope you will visit us again to see the improvements for yourself.

This hotel was a big disappointment for our entire group. The property doesn’t look anything like it’s in the pictures.
It’s has no life or charm at all.
Adding to this bad experience, was the staff and their made up rules.
Post booking the stay on their own website and settling at a final price that we had to pay at the property which was confirmed on our email. We were asked to randomly pay an additional high season charge that wasn’t mentioned anywhere else to us.
Post confrontation the receptionist started acting out and managed to snatched the keys and said she can’t give us the room if we don’t pay the additional fee. She really took us by surprise as in a tourist town like Mallorca where the sole reason this hotel is established is to provide service and a good experience to travellers this woman had the audacity to snap at us. We were suppose to also receive a welcome drink which also wasn’t served to us.
I would definitely let guests that want to stay here know that they should double check with the property about hidden tariffs like these before hand, or ideally not stay here at all !!

Response from Mar Calma Hotel, Guest Services / Front Office at Mar Calma Hotel
Responded Jul 7, 2023
Dear 555varshar, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that your one-night stay was not satisfactory. Please allow us to clarify that the "hidden charge" you mentioned is actually a regional tourist tax known as Ecotasa. It has been a government regulation since 2016 and is not a surcharge imposed by the hotel. It is important for travellers to familiarise themselves with tourist tax regulations in the region they are visiting. In the case of the Balearic Islands, tourist accommodation establishments are responsible for collecting this tax. We would like to emphasize that the €3.30 per person tax payment was balanced by the discount you received for accommodating an additional guest, along with the complimentary breakfast provided at no extra cost. This means that nine adults were accommodated and enjoyed breakfast for the price of eight. We understand that paying taxes can be frustrating for some tourists, but it is a common practice in many countries worldwide. Unfortunately, your group of nine people refused to pay the fee, resulting in an uncomfortable situation for our receptionist. Consequently, she had no choice but to deny access to the rooms if the tax was not paid. Regarding the welcome drink, it is customary for guests to present the voucher given to them upon arrival at the bar to avail themselves of the welcome drink. Our staff is not expected to deliver the drink directly to the rooms. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we will take it into consideration to improve our communication and ensure that all guests have a pleasant experience at our establishment. If there is anything else we can do to address your concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Best regards!

We were really looking forward to this Holiday, our first in three years, but due to an emergency at home - our pet Bengal cat became seriously ill and subsequently has had to be euthanised - we had to cancel our holiday three days before we were due to stay. Our travel agent tried to negotiate with the hotel, but they were adamant that we still had to pay the full amount and did not even offer the opportunity to rebook at a later date. So now we have no Bengal cat, have had no Holiday and have still had to pay full price for a hotel that we did not stay at. Beware when booking with a hotel that is so inflexible.

It's incredibly noisy. There are bars right outside the hotel and even when you are inside the staff are loud as there is a bar downstairs. I asked them to keep the noise down at 11 but they didn't, so if you're on the first floor you will be kept up.

Dear Guest. First of all, we are sorry to hear that your stay with us was not as satisfactory as you had hoped. We are also sorry to hear that your rest and sleep has been disturbed by the noise caused by some of the nearby bars and restaurants. However, we would like to point out and inform you that the hotel bar closes at 12 midnight, after which time we always close. You say that at 11 o'clock you went downstairs because there was noise in our facilities. I imagine that there must have been by other hotel guests, as being such a small hotel, there is only one person working per shift. If our other guests were enjoying a drink during opening hours, please understand that we cannot close an hour before closing time to please one guest, to the detriment of everyone else. Finally, we would like to point out that the noise to which you refer is both occasional and typical of some tourist resorts at certain times. Not everything can be positive when you have such a central location. We hope that you decide to visit us again in a future

Hotel as good as it said on the tin and the staff even better. Location excellent, cleanliness both room and hotel excellent ! Required minimum disabled assistance, which was always forthcoming with a smile and a genuine willingness to assist. Will definitely revisit.

Unfortunately it is not possible to sleep here, the noise coming in from the pub downstair and the bars on the street is at 50 decibel, not even earplugs would help as they cover only 30 decibel. This horel is not any cheap and I may nned to sleep at the beach tonight as here is clearly impossible. I am very disappointed as they should say clearly this hotel is not for sleeping, is only for those people who stay out until all bars close. Funny enough the name of the hotel is “ calm”, which is what you will NOT find here.

This was the second time we've stayed at the hotel- previously around five years ago- and I'm delighted to report it's as good as ever. Terrific staff, lovely rooms and one of the best locations in Pollensa- everything was more than excellent. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for good value and quality service.

No, the breakfast room is a gin bar at night, nice - but just drinks! The hotel recommended eating places to us - just a couple of streets away - very good!
Hi it is on the roof with sunlounger chairs and anyone can use it whenever. When I was there in early July I think there were 2 people in it once when I went up there, it was never very busy. There are towels and an outdoors shower up there too. No bath robes in room but they may have had them on request as they did have a list of things that weren't in every room but they had them for those who wanted them.
There is a hot tub on the roof and there is a basket with fresh towels for guests to use. Hope this helps
Breakfast is a buffet with cereals, bread and cold meats/cheese. There is also a selection of cook to order options like bacon, eggs etc.
