Chinese theme throughout seems out of place. However, several hydro-electric damns were built with Chinese money and workers recently, which may explain the strange decor in Tulcan. No fridge or minibar in the room, and choices are very limited downstairs (no Coke or Pepsi light). Worse though, is there is no heater in the room. It is currently 47 deg outside as I write this, and the room is COLD. Could not sleep well last night, and I could never get warm.

We visited on our way to the border. The building design is ridiculous. Who builds a hotel where you have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the lift? However, the rooms are clean and fresh. The staff were lovely. The Chinese restaurant seems to have very little to do with Chinese food. Breakfast was awful with very lityle on offer and the cheapest of everything. Rather expensive for what it is.

The hotel itself was not bad though the Chinese décor seemed out of place in this Ecuadorian town. The double room was clean ,the bed very comfortable and bathroom was adequate. The restaurant was okay though it only offered Chinese food. However, the noise level from the street was outrageous (I did request a room away from the noise and was told this was a quiet room.) .Dogs barked ,car alarms wailed and whistled, cars horns beeped, sirens blared etc and we were awakened at least once every hour on the hour by the town clock ringing out the appropriate time.....eg six o'clock .....six chimes. When the church bells sounded at 5.45 am. we were slap happy. Breakfast was included and it was pleasant. My advice is don't overnight in Tulcan . Period!!!!!!

This is a beautiful, new and very clean hotel in the border city of Tulcan, Ecuador. The room prices are a little high for Ecuador but you get what you pay for. The hotel is beautifully decorated with Japanese art, has an Asian restaurant, Hot tub, spa and free underground/guarded parking. It's only 10 minutes from the Colombian border.

Reservation was made at the last moment with little planning associated. The rooms were clean and fairly comfortable, although rooms roadside were exceptionally noisy. The breakfast service was fairly minimal in offering, although adequate for most. Checkout processing was far from acceptable, with the process being long winded and painfully slow. In our opinion, this hotel is certainly good enough for a short stay, as pricing and cleanliness appears acceptable.
