Located right by a beautiful sandy beach…..good for swimming. Very friendly staff and owners. Well-appointed spacious rooms with efficient air-conditioning and wi-fi. Delightful pool. Well-cooked fresh food in the hotel restaurant including an excellent breakfast selection. In addition, there is a good selection of tavernas within walking distance. Outdoor bar for a coffee or a drink. A great base for exploring western Crete…….and the famous beaches. Paleochora on the south coast is also worth a visit! (Can drive or take two busses there). Guests come from all parts of the world (the majority from Europe) and the hotel is suitable for both couples, families and singles…..and even oldies like me ! Always someone to chat to…. My room had a panoramic view of the bay. My tenth stay of at least two weeks at this hotel since 2014 and I will return again next year! Thank you to everyone for another really enjoyable and happy stay!

We stayed here before in 2020 and loved it so returned for another 2 weeks. The staff could not be more helpful or kind and its in the perfect location if you like quiet and a genuine cretan experience. Right on the beach which is sandy and shallow, good food in the hotel and in the taverna next door. The beach is prone to get very rough seas in North winds but Falasarna small beach is a 15 minute drive away and is absolutely lovely, Thank you again to Izabella and all her staff. It has nothing to do with this hotel review but I advise future customers not to rent a car from Kissamos car rentals up the road where we had a very bad experience, delapidated and unsafe cars and a miserable and rude proprietor called Hara who refused to apologise or refund us for the treatment we received. The local roads can be quite tricky and treacherous and so its important to rent a good car, there are plenty of other car rental options in the village with much more modern cars and better customer service

Thank you very much for excellent vacation to the very friendly staff of the Hotel Nautilus Bay at Kissamos! We had a most delightful week in your hotel where everything went perfectly well. Hotel room was very clean and suitably sized for our family of four persons. Nice balcony, small but functional hotel pool and excellent and especially not crowded beach next to the hotel. Great breakfast at the hotel and restaurant serves also very good a la carte -menu. I highly recommend also Kissamos city as a travel destination.

Wow, nailed it. Staying in chania but wanted to see the two famous beaches. Stayed two nights … spent time on their beach, marvellous. Ate at Plaka both nights, great, super boys. Back to the hotel, great rooms , lovely people, super pool, wonderful breakfast. And bar … And great advice from the boss … times to visit elifanisi and the best boat for balos . She was bang on and made both days so much better. Thank you

Stayed 15 days in June 2022 - another perfect holiday at this property ! Located right by a beautiful sandy beach, offering spacious well-appointred rooms with a comfortable bed, kitchen facilities and views. Lovely pool both for grown-ups and kids. Great breakfast - offering a large selection of both hot and cold dishes. A limited menu is offered at lunch and dinner - excellently cooked fresh products. A big thank you to all the wonderful friendly staff Vanna, Sophia, Line, Manolis, Fiorente, Kelly, Maria, Fortiny (and the owners Georgios and Izabela!) who help in every way.....rooms are kept very clean. Perfect for all ages - singles, couples or families. A great base from which to explore western Crete ! I will return.....

It is very simple......if you do not like this hotel then there is something wrong with you ! I stayed 3 weeks now in September....I have stayed here several times since 2014..... have always had pleasurable holidays at this hotel. Here at Nautilus Bay one can relax and be happy ! I travelled alone this time but there are always people from many different countries to talk to....don't be shy ! All ages are represented here.....from very young romantic couples, families and even old fogeys like me ! As always, I met many interesting people this time....always something new to learn in life from talking to people.... Situated on a beautiful sandy beach (10 meters away), good for swimming, great breakfast (about 5 warm dishes in addition to bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cakes and biscuits etc....). The rooms are spacious and kept very clean - a few with a panoramic view over the bay - amazing to wake up to this and watch the sunrise from the balcony. All rooms have at least a side view of the sea. Beds are very comfortable. Each room has a cooking area if you want to make dinner yourself. There is an in-room safe, effective air-conditioning and good wi-fi – no extra charges for these items. The hotel also has a beautiful pool. The hotel restaurant offers a limited menu of very tasty (extremely well cooked) dishes at good prices.....I suggest you try the food ! In addition there are some very good traditional restaurants nearby.....my two favourite ones are:- Fish Taverna 1960 ..and Stelios & Katina......both run by brothers from the same family. Both offer excellent food. Both are close to the hotel (within walking distance). A big thank you to all the staff (Vanna, Donna, Manolis, Yiannis, Fortiny and Fiora).....and to the owners George and Izabela.....a lovely couple who always take time for a chat ..... Wonderful people..... The hotel always upgrades each year....recently installed new air-con and faster wi-fi are very much welcomed. George also offers day trips to Balos on his sailing boat. People of all nationalities stay here...many come to see Balos (by boat from Kissamos) , Elafonissi and Falasarna.....is a good place to stay to explore western Crete......and relatively quiet.....not like the major tourist centres of Platanias etc.....If you do not drive, many places can be reached by bus......the little bus station is nearby. Always worth a day trip over the mountains to Paleochora..... Covid - good to see the hotel asking people to wear gloves (supplied) and face masks at breakfast when collecting food from the buffet. What more could I or you want ? You will enjoy your stay......I always do....I will return next year..... R

During check-in we were welcomed very friendly. We received a room upgrade and had one of the best rooms with a stunning view on the beach. Room and bathroom were very big, modern and clean. Breakfast was very good and diverse with a big selection that changed every day. We could borrow a sun umbrella at the reception when going to other beaches. But the hotels beach was also nice with free sun beds and umbrellas.

Didn’t stay in the hotel as we have somewhere to stay. But the outside bar next to the beach is open and everyone from the hotel is so nice, very welcoming. Lovely people and excellent service. Certainly will stay there soon, hotel looks very new with really nice pool outside. There is an outside and an inside restaurant which both look really nice. Great place to go

We spent one month in this modern hotel by the beach in August 2020, and I have to say that we felt at home from the very first day. The owners Georgos and Izabela were excellent hosts, always ready to fulfill our needs. And what to say about the staff, Caterina the cook, and Manolis, Georgos and Maria the waiters. They all were excellent workers that made our stay unforgettable. The room was fine, superior study with incredible sea sights. Internet was ok, probably not as good as we would have liked, but I know they did their best to improve it. The carte didn't have great variety, but the dishes they offered were really good. Caterina is an excellent chef. The kitchennette is acceptable. Not fully equiped but I have to say that we got all the lacking items that we asked for. It's located inside the last village on the coast road moving west, but in a quiet area, far away from the noisy areas, just by the beach, so that you can hear the waves splashing on the shore while you have a drink sitting at the balcony at night. I loved that. Platanias is at 30 minutes drive, with a lot of restaurants if you don't have enough with all the ones in Kissamos, and the city of Chania one hour drive with an old beatiful port to visit. Several beaches around, counted among the most beautiful beaches of Crete, as Balos, Falasarna, Elafonissi, Stavros and Seitan Limania, to number some. We will come back to Nautilus Bay, as soon as we have a chance.

We had a great time spending 2 weeks at the Nautilus Bay. All the staff are so helpful and kind and the place is kept spotlessly clean, Covid seemed a distant nightmare. Manolis and Maria on the bar are always cheerful and can't do enough for you, Katerina the cook waited up for us when we arrived on a very late flight and makes great cakes and pizza. The cleaning staff (sorry didn't get to know your names) kept us safe and made us laugh with the displays left in our rooms. Isabella and Giorgos run a tight ship, and made us feel so welcome and are a fount of information about places to visit. Great location on the clean and unspoiled sandy beach, its 10 minutes easy walk to the town and restaurants and car rental just up the road. The hotel within 20 minutes driving distance of Falasarna beach if there is a strong North wind, its much more sheltered - the north end blue and orange beach and ruins are perfect. Kissamos museum, Paleochora (great beaches), Chania and Polyrinnia are perfect for interesting visits. Thank you and we wish you all the best for next year, we hope to be back.
