Modern hotel that has been built into the walls of the Plaza Mayor in the centre of the old town. Boutique property that is ideally located explore all that this ancient town has to share. Staff are exceptionall friendly and helpful ( although English limited). The old town is steeped in history dating from the Roman Empire and the experience... More

This was an unexpected surprise. The hotel was reserved by others for us. A 16th century house beautifully restored into a cozy nice little hostel the manager was just perfect and made anything she could to improve our experience. Nice new, clean and well designed rooms (not surprisingly small) with a balcony overlooking the city's main square. Close by to... More

Small, but clean and adequate room in charming old building, with tiny balcony overlooking main plaza of Ciudad Rodrigo. The only drawback was that church bells chimed every 15 minutes all night long! The plaza had many options for simple meals, coffee, and drinks, and it was easy to walk all over town. Very reasonably priced.

Arrived at the hotel at 4pm. Perfect timing as the place was just waking up from Siesta. We were able to drive easily to the hotel (very well signposted) and park outside whilst we registered and unloaded. We then took the car out of the walled city for free parking. We had an amazing room with a glassed in balcony... More

Four of us have stayed here three times over a few years. I always had room 101 over looking the square. Being a Peninsula war buff I love the place. It has a nice friendly bar next door where you can also eat very reasonably. Ciudad Rodrigo is my favorite city in Spain and we spent a couple of days... More

We chose this hotel from photos on line and it lived up to it's reputation. It only has a couple of small weaknesses. Access is from the road up over 20 stone steps. This could be quite difficult if infirm. Once inside the hotel is well laid-out with good facilities. The room we had was clean and bright. The bathroom... More

We unfortunately only stayed for one night in the Hospedería Audencia Real, but the night that we did have was unforgettable. We booked through their website and asked for a balcony but did not expect to get room 101 which is the largest room and has its own enclosed glass balcony overlooking the Plaza Mayor. We took full use of... More

This hotel is located in an old jail building on the old town's main plaza (Plaza Mayor). The entry door at ground level is unimposing but the scene changes greatly once you enter. You ring the bell to get buzzed in. (Upon check-in you are given keys to the entry doors. The owner lives on the top floor.) Renovations recently... More

I recently spent a few nights in this wonderful new place in the heart of Ciudad Rodrigo, a beautiful medieval town of Castile. It is the only hotel on the main square, yet the rooms are totally soundproof. It was opened very recently so it has all the modern comforts: tv, radio and even a computer (and printer) with free...
