Stopped here today for lunch en route to the Spanish lakes. The hotel/restaurant is large, very clean & welcoming. We walked in to a huge open fire that was being prepared to cook all the meat for lunches. The menu is typically Spanish but a very good selection of all courses, good value for money. They also offer a 3...

We've finally stopped here after driving past it so many times - just stopped for drinks and tapas this time, but we'll be back. A big dining room, nicely redecorated terrace out the front, good-looking menu with all the local standards, and it sells local cheeses and meats (chorizo, Serrano and the rest). They also still do complimentary tapas too...

spotted this in the Rough Guide and very grateful for the tip as we would not have gone there otherwise. Rather out of the way but charming place. Home made flan at the end of the meal was the highlight for extremely tasty lunch which came to €20 for the two of us. Will definitely return and might even be...

It is three years since I first reviewed this hotel, focussing on its excellent cuisine. I have eaten there many times since then, and always enjoyed my meal. It has had a change of management about a year ago, but nothing has gone down. Perhaps, if anything, a slight improvement. An excellent lunch there today prompted me to write this...

we were en route from Baeza to Malaga and booked in advance. It is a plain and simple place, big bedrooms, hot water, clean and a 25m swimming pool, which was icy cold despite the temperature being mid 40's. The restaurant looked busy at lunchtime, but we swam and then went back in, to be told the hotel was closed...

We went for three meals here, during a week staying in the area. Way out of the way. Delightfully situated near Alhama, and next door to a bullring! (Didn't see any bulls!!) Friends have stayed here and said the rooms are inexpensive and excellent value. The food is Spanish and lovely. A set menu of salad, soup (the biggest bowl...

We stopped for lunch en-route to Alhama de Granada. The hotel looks quite new, and has thirty or so bedrooms. The large restaurant is traditional in style with lots of serrano hams hanging over the bar. They also sell their own cheeses and sausages. We both ordered the 10Euro 'Menu del Dia'. No choices but all very good - a small...

This a very pleasant family run hotel. The room and facilities are very good value. The owners are down to earth and friendly but don't speak much English. The meals were well cooked, great value and copious but a small criticism is that they tend to be over salted. There is excellent walking behind the hotel but you need to...

I have eaten in this place on several occasions, and every time have been very pleased indeed with the quality/quantity/value for money of the cooking. The feature of the dining-room/bar area is a massive fireplace, used in winter as the grill for an array of meats. Staff are pleasant and attentive in a quiet polite way. It is a hotel,...

“One thing you must have if you like black pudding, is the morcilla, or "blood pudding", whether here or anywhere else. It is much more refined and delicate, and has herbs in it. You will find it on tapas menus with chorizo.”
