I would like to invite you to come and stay in one of the luxurious apartments in one of the most stunning, unspoiled settings in the Far North. There are 3 independent, private self-contained beachfront apartments available for either short term or longer term. All apartments have private entrances, fully equipped kitchens, bathrooms, lounge and dining areas and off road parking. On the sea-side of each apartment you have covered decks, table & chairs for el fresco dining & viewing our stunning west coast sunsets. A private path from the property takes you out towards 90 Mile Beach. The apartments are a balance of high standard amenities in a scenic location at an equitable price. Apartments are decorated using quality textiles & art from the Pacific Rim. Apartments are contemporary, very well maintained, luxurious & well equipped with everything you need for a temporary home away from home. Some of the other amenities include quality beds with crisp cotton sheets, free Wi-Fi internet, housekeeping services, all linen & towels, beach towels included in rate. We have solar hot water with electric boost, recycling and non-toxic cleaners used in the servicing and cleaning of all apartments. I will be on hand to help with any bookings or questions you may have to make your stay a most enjoyable one. Your host, Lyall (and Bryn the Chocolate Labrador)

Stephanie and I have been visiting Beach Abode for several years now and it has always been a lovely place to get away from the madding crowd. Lyall is a splendid host even to the point of organising a group pizza cooking evening with the other guests, using the onsite pizza oven in the garden, much fun and interesting conversation under the tarpaulin, incase it rained, which it didn't, thankfully. We were in the Beach Break room initially, not used this previously, it was, as are all rooms here, very clean and comfortable, a good range of cooking equipment available, and decent crockery and cutlery. For the latter part of our break we shifted into the Seascape room, this is more spacious, but as there was only two of us an extravagance, sorry I broke the coffee plunger, my thumb is just about healed now, the beds here are super comfy in all rooms, and the place is generally very quiet, we will be back. 5 stars for Beach Abode. Thanks Lyall, and hairy helpers.

It was great to see you again and am very pleased you got to view Northland in depth once again. The stainless steel replacement plunger is great and matches the other apartments well, thank you for collecting it in Keri Keri. Am glad you enjoyed Pizza Night. Kind Regards, Lyall, Bryn and Murphy

This was my hubby, son and my third visit to Lyall’s and it was, as always, amazing. Lyall is the perfect host and the lodge has everything you may want or need for a wonderful holiday. Bryn and Murphy are Lyall’s fur babies, who are so well behaved and a pleasure to have around. Th three of us love body boarding right opposite the lodge and pizza night is always super! We’ve booked again already for next Easter!

We had a lovely stay at the Sandy Cove and Lyall was more than great, he was just amazing and we could really recommend this accommodation. From the BBQ place you have a wunderful view to the sea. Just a few seconds from the house to feel the sand from the beach on your feets.

A great place to stay if you’re in Ahipara! We stayed in the sandy cove apartment which was a nice sized room for two. The room was very clean and tidy. Lyall was a great host and very knowledgeable about the area, we would recommend staying at the beach abode and will stay again in the future 😊

We stayed at Beach Abode for three nights during September. Ahipara is a sleepy town about 15-20 mins from Kaitaia. We stayed in the seascape unit which is two bedrooms. The unit is clean, spacious and the bed is super comfortable! Lyall is an excellent, gracious host and nothing was too much trouble. His suggestion of a trip to Cape Reinga was excellent as we did not have to drive, had a trip on the 90 mile beach, learned about Maori history and spirituality and went sand dune tobogganing together with lunch provided for $60! And someone else did the driving. We stayed here because of the reviews and we would stay here again. Lyall even goes to the trouble of flying our home flag, which was a nice touch! The views here are spectacular and we would suggest if staying for a few days shopping at Pak n Save in Kaitaia. Bren the Chocolate lab and Murphy the rescue dog were always great company as well. Thanks very much for your hospitality Lyall!

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. It was a great pleasure to meet you and I'm very glad you got to enjoy the Sand Safaris Cape Reinga Tour and to learn some history of this area and it's people. Enjoy your travels wherever your next ones take you. Regards from Bryn, Murphy and me.
