We stayed for three nights in a quiet area room for a getaway with wife and baby and mostly enjoyed the experience at the Crowne Plaza. The property is located half-way between Cessnock and Pokolbin and is next door to the Hunter Valley Zoo, which offers a discount for hotel guests. As other readers pointed out though, prices were slightly on the expensive side for the facilities provided. While the bedroom was comfortable and clean and staff were lovely and professional, there are a few areas for improvement that I'd like to note. Firstly, the daily housekeeping timing is confusing, because although they started cleaning the rooms in our area from early in the morning, our room was only cleaned half-way through the afternoon on the first day and on the second day we missed the slot due to the baby's nap time. Thankfully, I requested a visit from housekeeping as we left for dinner and came back to a clean and refreshed room a few hours later. Secondly, the shower area in the room had a few issues, namely (1) hot water pressure is not sufficiently strong; (2) shower head angle hard to adjust; (3) glass wall not long enough causing flooding on the floor (wet slippers and mat) and drenching the hanging towels; (4) geometry of wall hooks incompatible with towel weight causing them to keep falling onto the wet floor. All in all, we hope to visit the resort again in the future when the expansion works are completed and the kids can enjoy the facilities accordingly.

We stayed at the Crowne for 2 nights over the weekend for my Birthday! Check in was easy, customer service was lovely and the room was great! Comfortable bed, Clean and Balcony view of the Adult pool. A few little things: - The toilet paper location. Prepare to have a flexible back to turn around and get some or just take it of the holder as it is near impossible to pull off successfully without it falling to the ground or puling out your back haha. - The Adult pool was reserved for only Poolside resort rooms which was disappointing as we are a couple with no children. -We waited 40 minutes for our dinner at the ground floor restaurant. We were the first ones in the restaurant with a reservation at 5pm and the first to order. However, they missed our order. We spoke to the acting manager at the time and were given some free drinks at the bar to accomodate. Cheering!! Thank you to the manager! Waiting 40 minutes for dinner on your birthday is not a great way to celebrate! We appreciate your customer service :) - Due to Covid, you have to walk inside from the pool to order drinks or food and be fully clothed. So a little annoying to get in and out, dressed and undressed for bevies and food throughout the day. It is an amazing location however, customer service is fantastic! We would definitely stay here again!! The hotel even provided a free bottle of wine and some chocolate strawberries, not once but TWICE!! From two different workers! WE LOVE THE CROWNE! Thank you for an amazing weekend! We appreciate your attentive service and facilities!

Conveniently located and lovely local staff. Every time I come here there seems to be construction of some new kids waterworks, conference block extension, arcade game babysitting cell. Great cost effective spot for large family gatherings with lots of kids or large company conferences with golf.

Pool area is not very relaxing due to adjacent construction work. Ordered coleslaw from the in app menu got red cabbage salad. Rooms comfortable... But check out a few before settling in. Good location, lounge area not very inviting - like a business hotel.

Stayed at the crowne plaza for 1 night in a 2 bedroom villa. An underwhelming experience with the room having a stale smell that did not disappear even with the balcony doors open.. appears to come from the couch and carpet, this made the stay very unpleasant. Positives were comfortable bed, nice bathroom and good location.
