My parents, borther, and I stayed at this lodge almost 50 years ago in the late 1960's, having driven to Mexico in my grandfather's borrowed station wagon from Toledo, Ohio. I still remember it vivdly and fondly, and am overjoyed to see that it is (apparently) still operating, and still in very much the same fashion. If it's considered remote...

Amazing Lodge hotel in the middle of nowhere makes it priceless and one of a kind experience. The rooms are homey and clean, the food is made by the Tarahumara's making it a delicious experience. There is no electricity or signal in the lodge hotel, which was one of my favorite experiences, to really disconnect from the outside world and...

If you want to experience a real "Sierra" hotel, this is the place. Rooms are ample and clean, the service is great, and the food, made by local Raramuris (Tarahumaras) is delicious, with a real rural taste. There is no electricity in the rooms, which are lit only with petrol lamps, which is a nice and different experience. You get...

We had a very relaxing stay, including a great hike with Manuelito, margaritas from Maria, a visit with the village Doctor, and nice talks with Pedro. We really enjoyed it! It was almost like a homestay -- a very cultural experience. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 2 nights after our visit to the Uriaque Waterfall, although we were a bit worried at first arrival having 4 young children and no access to phone line or internet, we quickly forgot about it and enjoyed the experience of the evening man lighting the kerosene lamps and setting the fire in each room. The weather was...

Great hikes can be organized from here to; Basirecota hot springs, El Divisadero, Batopilas and many others. copper Canyon is a safe and beautiful place to visit,...

We were prepared for the non-electric facilities and did enjoy the change from city locations. I did add some new birds to my list, so that made me happy. My husband would have liked to be able to read once darkness fell at 7-8 pm. and some of the more efficient kerosene lamps available now would have helped. For me...

We stayed for a night here during our recent trip through the Copper Canyon. The rooms are authentic with a fireplace, and petroleum lamps. Clean and nicely decorated. If you need to charge your camera / cell phone etc, ask the owner, as the rooms don't have electricity. Food was cooked by the local Tarahumara staff of the lodge, excellent...

great place, full of charme. We spent there one night and we enjoyed the special atmosphere due to no presence of electricity (candle lights and wooden fire heating) and to a very good menu prepared by tarahumara cooks (one of the few places where you can have that). From the bungalows very nice trail to waterfalls.

This lodge is a quaint, hotel tucked in the edge of a forest, next to a stream. Spotlessly clean, and immaculately maintained, this hotel has no electricity, so be aware, it is difficult to read by lamplight. And, it is cook in this part of the canyon, so the room will be cold. The staff will light the lamps and...
