Stayed here on coast to coast walk.. It's a slightly quirky hotel art deco style .. I loved it.. Good food, amazing setting, wonderfully peaceful - and helpful staff. The hotel needs a bit more tlc but is updating and new rooms are amazing.. I'm planning to come back with my wife.. Thanks to all...

A great one night stay. When we arrived and mentioned that we would like to see a red squirrel, the staff replenished the feeders. The room was perfectly satisfactory with great views over the lake. Dinner and Breakfast were very tasty. We took advantage of booking on line and received a free sweet. The squirrel appeared whilst we were having... More

Like a grand old dame of the theatre or cinema who, though still beautiful relies more on her presence and charm than her erstwhile beauty, so the Haweswater hotel sits with her aging beauty mostly intact and fully part of the beautiful landscape she inhabits. Based on our, sadly, only one night stay, my wife and I enjoyed an excellent... More

Stopped here for a spot of lunch. We were shown to the bar by a very friendly receptionist, bar maid, waitress all rolled into one. The bar is decorated in 1930's style and very well done. We both chose the steak and ale pie, which would not normally be my first choice. I am so pleased I did. It was... More

This is a rare find. You need to be very patient to drive as this hotel is located at the end of the road and it does seem like u are ' getting lost' following the GPS. Very tranquil and secluded hotel.. See the photos to know what I mean. Catch the sunrise if u can.. The scenery is spectacular... More

Stayed here for one night and it was fantastic. Loved the location, loved the room and the food was amazing in the restaurant that night. I would definitely go back if the opportunity arose. The bedroom was one of the refurbished rooms and in the loft so was really quirky with nice furniture and class views. If there was a... More

We stayed in a loft King double room. Quirky, clean and very comfortable with amazing views. Dinner in the restaurant was outstanding both in food quality and service. This place was a brilliant find. Can't recommend enough.

Our stay at the hotel and in the area where absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the nature and especially the lovely trees with its fauna and flora. The hotel is remote and we first battled to find the hotel on our GPS as the codes took us to another place. From the check in to our hotel room is all personal... More

This was a stop off on the way home from a holiday in Scotland ,it was a drive down a lot of winding pretty country lanes and villages .then when we turn the last corner through the Forrest with the reservoir to our right the stunning hotel came in to view and it is quite stunning ,the reception area is... Slightly out of the way (but with magnificent views of the Lake and mountains) and in splendid isolation, Haweswater Hotel is an interesting 1930s Art Deco find. Our room , top floor, under the eaves ,was quirky and a real risk for anyone of average height or over , had an unusable sloping bathroom shelf and other oddities such as a... More
