We called just for a drink to see the hotel for the first time since it was refurbished having stayed years ago. Thr bar is very tastefully decorated and I was delighted to find a craft beer by Hardknott brewery on the bar, a 5.2% ipa. Sadly I was driving so could only have the one but it was superb...

We called in to the hotel for drinks on 21-1-17 and were greeted by very friendly staff and made to feel very welcome. I must mention Josh who showed us his skills at lighting the log fire, we got chatting and he was telling us about the way the hotel was being upgraded and was happy to show us around...

We chose this hotel after reading reviews here and looking at the lovely photos of the surrounding area. To be honest it was probably a bit more out of the way than what I expected. It's a great location for walks up the fells and around the reservoir, but probably not so good for exploring the west side of the...

Chosen at random because my son and I were going to be in the Lake District, it was off the beaten track - well off the beaten track - and I know the area around Shap and Bampton reasonably well, and for a suite (£79) it was excellent value for money. As other reviews note, it is an Art Deco...

We visited for a 2 night stay as a Base for exploring. We loved our stay. Very remote location, no phone signal. Perfect for a quick get away before having to go back to work in a busy city. The staff were so wonderful and lovely, a credit to the hotel. Breakfast was limited but great non the less, not...

We spent two days here between Christmas and New Year, the hotel is interesting with amazing Art Deco features in the public room, and although they a little shabby the owners shouldn't change very much. Wonderful open fires, good food and an atmosphere that felt a little like a house party, great fellow guests. We booked one of the Lake...

The room with jacuzzi bath and the balcony was great treat. The staff couldn't do enough for you. the breakfast was well cooked and tasted great and views are amazing. Added treat was the birds and the red squirrel playing in the garden while your eating breakfast

Traveling down from Scotland for Christmas I needed a peaceful break from the crisis of the current year. It turns out this journey was accompanied by Storm Barbara which brought its own challenges to this particular expedition into England, always a difficult trip at the best of time. I've been to the Haweswater Hotel before, in summer of course when...

After driving past this hotel on a day trip to Haweswater a couple of years ago, we always said we would like to stay...and we finally have.We weren't disappointed. In fact, I would have to say this is one of the most characterful hotels I have stayed in for a long time. True, some of the hotel is showing signs...

my wife and myself stayed at the Haweswater Hotel over the weekend. the staff were very pleasant and friendly at all times. We stayed in one of the loft rooms. The room was clean and tidy and warm. The bathroom was spacious with a very large bath to relax in. The hotel in located off the beaten track along the...
