What an amazing place to stay. As well as being set in a quaint village just outside of Oaxaca (15 minutes drive at most), Jim and Tony make the most wonderful hosts. The house itself is beautiful and the room was immaculately clean and well-decorated. I enjoyed chatting with Jim and Tony who helped with every element of my stay. Breakfast was delicious and healthy. I also enjoyed the view from the roof terrace and relaxing in the hammock. Couldn’t have wanted more from my stay, thanks to both hosts!
Don’t be surprised that all reviews of Casa Adobe are excellent. It’s all true. I made a last minute booking for one of their BnB rooms for three nights and thankfully they had a free room. It was a great choice. The hospitality offered by Antonio and Jim, coupled with the comfort of the room, the joy of the setting, the very good breakfasts and the help with transport, I can’t recommend it highly enough.
As a solo traveler, I could not have chosen a more wonderful place to call home for my 3 week visit to Oaxaca. Antonio and Jim were the best hosts. Welcoming, encouraging, available. We shared great conversations. They shared incredible knowledge about Oaxaca, arranged my transportation to and from school, as well as where to get buses for day trips. Staying at CasaAdobe was truly a pleasure and a respite from the City or any urban srea. Tranquilo with only the occasional rooster crowing, dog barking or man selling tamales. And last but not least, Gengi their cute little pug.
We recently spent a month at Jim and Antonio's Casa Adobe, in the village of Tlalixtac de Cabrera, just outside Oaxaca city. Our studio apartment was homey, with a well-appointed kitchen (the gas stove was wonderful) and bathroom.Plenty of room for two people. Often, breakfast included a visit from our hosts' pug, Genji. Jim and Antonio were always available with helpful tips about navigating their beautiful region. They treat their guests like long-lost friends. After a month living "next door" to these two gentlemen, we came away with a positive feeling for Oaxaca and the great nation of Mexico. As we say in Hawaii, mahalo, guys for a marvelous experience!
I stayed at the hotel (in the studio apartment) for the month of June and had a very nice time. Jim and Antonio are friendly and helpful, offering not only their advice but also rides to town, laundry runs, fresh fruit, etc. The house is beautiful. I hope to return some day.
