Amazing view of river with elephant, buffalo and hippo grazing 3 meters from the log cabin we stayed in. Hyena visiting every night. Lots of birds, including fish eagles on your door step! Easy to find. Crocodile bridge entrance to Kruger park 10 meters from front gate. Self catering. Friendly staff, clean and well equipped log cabin. Brick cabins also... More

What a lovely hidden gem! On arrival we were greeted by Buffaloes grazing right next to our wooden chalet. The kids just loved the place. It was clean and most comfortable. Absolutely stunning views of the river and we had hippo , elephant etc and losts of bird species to entertain us everyday. The resident hyenas patrol the fence every... More

Breakfast and dinner on a stoop overlooking the Crocodile River, and immediate access to the Crocodile River entrance to the Kruger. Every night and every morning there was something amazing just over the fence: cape buffalo, elephant, hippo... Chalet was rustic but comfortable, the grounds were beautifully kept, and there was a very nice and well-maintained swimming pool. Staff were... More

We stayed here one night before sticking up and going to Swaziland. It is conveniently placed just outside the crocodile bridge entrance to Kruger where you can view all animals just inside the main gate we saw; giraffe, hippos, elephants, impala, wildernesses, zebra rhino and lots of birds within 14k of entering the park. Comfortable rooms and of course the... More

My wife myself and our teenage son stayed at Elephant Walk Retreat over the Easter weekend. We stayed in the "basic" Ingwenyama unit which was not basic at all. It had an airconditioner, fridge, microwave and two very comfortable beds. There was a lovely patio with a clean braai which overlooked the river. After reading about a couple of negative... More

We stayed in one of the big huts, it had nice furniture inside and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also saw elephants right in front of our cabin, and some monkeys eating mangos, roaming around. Luckily our air conditioning was working very well as we had over 40 degrees outside. One needs only 2 minutes with the car... More

We found our accommodation to be quite rustic and much more expensive than the 5 stàr Ngwenyà Lodge, where we spent the previous evening. However, as we turned up on the day and they were full, we may have been given the last available lodge. It was very dated with the bathroom in dire need of refurbishment but at least... More

We loved this nice place. Our Bungalow was beside the fence, so from the balcony we had an overview to the river and the animals. We saw elephants (up to 17 in one place), hyenas, hippos, buffalos - from our balcony. It was amazing. There are monkeys strolling around as well. The pool is very good. The hosts are very... More

I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Elephant Walk. What a hidden gem. A hundred times better than any of the main camps in the Kruger and so lovely and private and quiet. Staying in a log cabin over looking the Crocodile River was just perfect. And aircon in the cabin was an added bonus as when... More

My husband, my in-laws and I stayed in the Martial Eagle Family Suite (Unit No. 9) for the first time, after years of wanting to try it but instead opting to stay inside the reserve. This year we decided to try it, and were not disappointed. Our suite was perfectly designed for two couples, with two en-suite bedrooms in each... More
