We spent the weekend at Lynford, with family friends. We had a range of children from 1 year -12 years old, and for each child the place was perfect. The bungalow itself is a beautifully restored colonial planter’s bungalow, with impeccable attention to the original details, remaining true to its essence, while accommodating modern conveniences. The bungalow itself has 4 beautifully appointed themed bedrooms with attached bathrooms. There are two main indoor living spaces- a morning room, which has a wide array of books, and a snooker table in the adjoining veranda; and an evening room with a vinyl record player (both rooms having open wood fire places)and a wonderfully cozy feel. The bungalow is decorated with antiques and interesting pieces of history, each with a story behind. Lynford is surrounded by beautifully manicured lawns and flower beds. There is a gazebo, a mini golf course, lawn croquet and a working vegetable garden. There is even a wading pond, for those willing to brave the cold waters! The food is just wonderful. And the tea is the best! The heart and soul of the bungalow however, is the wonderful staff! Gayan, Dennis and the rest of the team, are what MAKE this holiday! Their willingness to accommodate and general service is above and beyond. Tea is served on a traditional tea trolley in white China! The afternoon high tea is delicious, with everything being made fresh and served hot. It was the perfect holiday- the kids were fully entertained, despite there being no tv or WiFi! And we hardly saw them, as they were off exploring the gardens, playing cricket, croquet, football, rugby and swimming. We saw them when the gong was rung for meals! The adults enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and fresh air! We trekked to the nearby cabanas, through the tea estate. It was a breathtaking trek ending at the quaint cabanas with a wonderful natural pool, to soothe the aching limbs and cool down! There was a wonderful bbq and bonfire one night, and then Gayan entertained us with his Guitar the next night in front of the fire place. No one wanted to return to reality! A truly wonderful holiday in a place where time really does stand still. A wonderful choice if what you are looking for is to unplug from the stresses of everyday life, unwind and spend quality time with loved ones. Where everything is taken care of and your every request met with a smile and a cup of wonderful tea! Keep up the excellent standards and we hope to return soon!

Exceptional property tucked away in the hills of Bogawantalawa. A place where you get nothing but pure food for the soul! It’s a bungalow that has its own little traditions! Whether you are being served at the dining area or whether you are off on a trek towards Horton Plains! All your usual creature comforts are available. Flowers are plenty and there is home grown vegetable garden. There is a swimming pool and a large space for outdoor activities, a Gazebo a Morning room an Evening room, a Pool table and the list goes on... Service is Exceptional and always with a smile! Food quality is tremendous and the staff are ever helpful to cater to what ever your request is! In short there were no shortcomings and everything was above our expectations.

We had a great stay at Lynford and felt very welcome since the first moment. They really took care of us. Amazing food, stunning views and unique atmosphere which we really enjoyed. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We had great tea experience on the tea plantation and in the factory. This place is low key which makes it even more attractive. Denis is the best host ever! Very well spent money. We will comeback for sure!
