We loved everything about L'Etoile du Port. Clare is the most warm and wonderful host, who has established a very homey feel to her bed and breakfast. It has a spacious and comfortable sitting room and breakfast area, plus the kitchenette is also extremely handy. Clare made us feel very special and very welcome. Breakfast is fantastic and plentiful. Rooms... More

We have just returned from having a week at L'Etoile du Port and had the perfect stay. Clare is the most attentive hostess and nothing is too much for her. We were made to feel very welcome in her beautiful B&B. Our room was on the top floor and had beautiful views over the canal. It was great to wake... More

What a wonderful place this is. The rooms were excellent with really comfortable beds and crisp white bedding. The lounge area was ideal, a great place to relax after a day exploring. The added benefit of the kitchenette to keep your food and drink in is a great addition to your average B&B. Breakfast was a wonderful event. The table... More

The Bed&Breakfast is located at the river, in a renovated old building. It has a nice atmosphere and comfortable rooms. However, the rooms give way to the common sitting room with television, which - when used - can be clearly heared. The continental breakfast was good.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting friends in the local area, and what a lovely place It is. Clare is one of the most helpful and welcoming people you can meet in English or French, and really adds a huge amount to how lovely this place is. I have an allergy to dogs which had been discussed before we... More

We stayed here for four nights on a house-hunting trip. We made our booking in two stages, fairly last minute, and so stayed in two different rooms, both of which were lovely and very comfortable. The property oozes charm and character but is also well thought out and extremely comfortable. We particularly liked having a well-stocked kitchenette next to the... More

We arrived exhausted after our journey to be met with a great blend of friendliness from Clare and the charm of the hotel. It is far removed from typical plastic stop-overs with comfort, character and chic. We were checking out the area for property and Clare helped us get a perspective with her local personal touch. The bedroom/bathroom was great,... More

We arrived for a one night stay having travelled 9 hours from the south of France, feeling tired and a bit frazzled but immediately relaxed with the warm and friendly welcome that we receievd at the establishment from the proprietor, Clare. The room was inviting, spotlessly clean and the bedding was luxurious and so comfy! When we booked we had... More

We flew into Bordeaux, rented a car and used this place as a base for a few day's. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Claire struck a perfect balance between supporting us with tips on France and the local area without being overpowering. Having a little kitchen enabled flexibility around dietry requirements and the odd lazy night... More

Clare welcomed us as if we were family and cherished us wonderfully throughout our stay. L'Etoile is a beautifully furnished and elegant home where everything has been really carefully thought through for the complete happiness and comfort of the guests. We will certainly aim to return there again and again. What a lovely person Clare is!
