This rustic hotel is set on a hill with a beautiful sunset view over the lake. The pool is a welcome refresher after a day exploring the area. The grounds are very quiet, peaceful and generally caters to small families and couples looking for a beautiful place to relax. Far enough from Fortuna to escape the crowds and but still only a 20min drive or so. About an hour to Rio Celeste over a fairly rough mountain road. We booked via Airbnb and got a great rate!

What a wonderful place! We stayed in the Royal Cottage which was such a cool villa with 3 bedrooms and a private pool. The view of the lake was stunning and overall the property is very beautiful. The cottage was extremely clean. It included a kitchen and the cleaning service even did our dishes. Breakfast was delicious consisting of multiple options. All of the staff are kind, patient and professional. Of course, if booking here please realize the hotel is very far from La Fortuna and the volcano park. At least 30 minutes drive. If you are taking shuttles, they will charge more to come to this hotel. One minor recommendation is for the hotel to provide better kitchen equipment and basic kitchen items.

Very clean, spacious, well appointed cottages on a stunning property; the pics don’t do it justice. All of the staff are truly excellent, so kind, patient and professional, the restaurant was perfect, we ate multiple meals there daily. We scheduled activities with Alan who was able to be our guide for some. He gave us incredible experiences (rainforest tours, horseback riding etc) making this a trip of a lifetime. I almost hate to broadcast what an amazing experience we had, as it provides a true getaway experience from the tourist hustle and bustle. I left feeling like I stayed with friends for a week, and homesick for this little piece of paradise.

We had lunch at the Bistro, which was a wonderful experience. The food was good, the service was friendly and the view was stunning. Even though we were just there for lunch, we still Got to use the pool area. We could not believe our luck to find sich a place with tranquillity, birds and lovely food at a affordable rate.

The room faced the lake (bungalow 2) and I was surprised by the size of the bungalow! It featured 2 bedrooms and could sleep 6 quite comfortably. The breakfast started with a platter of fresh fruit followed by a choice of 4 type of breakfast. The dining room staff in the evening were incredible with their service and brought dinner to the bungalow, despite being busy in the dining room.

Let me begin by saying we are coming again and this time for a week or two. One thng other reviews didn't say was you could actually sleep or exist without air conditioning tho the rooms are all capable of both. Costal towns often are blazing hot. Also we just came from Pacific coast stay and the landscape was extremely dry and fires everywhere. Here it is a jungle everywhere with gorgeous flowers and trees. What a difference. Took the boat ride on the lake to the volcano. Best views for pictures. Can't wait to come here again. Ted

Individual cottages, quiet peaceful place over the lake, breathtaking views, lovely pool/hot tub, very good food! All within walking distance of other shops and restaurants in the La Union community. It's a bit far from La Fortuna, but that suited us just fine :)

The best place on earth. We had the best time at a beautiful, quaint mountain side Inn. The staff was outstanding and spoke English. Caesar greeted us when we arrived and we knew we found a gem of a property. Food was amazing for all meals. It’s a great place to stay if you want a very low risk of getting Covid. Open air restaurant. All staff wore masks and had a handwashing station. Peggy the owner is delightful and welcoming. The only problem is that it’s not in the United States. We go back there many many times. I highly recommend it for couples.

An excellent hotel in a beautiful setting. We liked everything about this hotel. Our casita had a very private balcony with a great view of Lake Arenal and the surrounding mountains. The room was very comfortable and well decorated, a delight. The food was excellent and the restaurant and bar were attractive. All the staff were very friendly. One comment, but nothing to detract from the hotel, "Which authority decided to put wind turbines on the ridge tops in such a beautiful part of Costa Rica?"

We stayed at La Mansion and really enjoyed our stay. We are a family of four with two teen age girls so the separate room with two single beds worked out great for them and us. But those girls did complain about the wifi not being up to their standards. The front desk did warn us about that though. The views from our bungalow were nothing short of amazing. The infinity pool was pretty small and if you weren’t the first group there there isn’t much space for you. The restaurant was pretty good we had the surf and turf and I would say it was not worth the price, But the girls had chicken fingers and they were terrific. The morning breakfast was really good but only three choices but the fresh fruit was awesome and we got as much as we wanted. Not much going on in the town but it was only 20 minute drives to our activities we planned, Mystico Hanging Bridges and the Go adventures. This is definitely good for a relaxing stay as it is quiet and intimate place.
