At the end of March, I had the pleasure of staying at Kariwak hotel for 4 days with my family. It was truly an enjoyable experience. Firstly, the tranquil atmosphere and the lush greenery were ideal for what I sought. We were very impressed by the efficiency and hospitality of the manager, Maisha. The food was a highlight and I must commend the talented chef, Elvin. Every meal was delicious and well presented. This clean, serene and relaxing hotel is ideal for a getaway. Thank you to the staff at Kariwak for the wonderful treatment. Looking forward to my next stay!
We chose Kariwak as it looked like a pretty laidback, small and friendly hotel, and it delivered on all these points and more. If you're looking for a relaxing retreat within easy walking distance of bars and restaurants, I don't think you could do better. The cabana-style rooms are set in gorgeous gardens with an abundance of wildlife (lots of birds, little lizards, even an iguana), and there are two lovely pools (one main, the second more of a plunge pool/jacuzzi with waterfall). The hotel is renowned for its restaurant which was still closed except for guests when we stayed. Elvin the talented chef does fantastic breakfasts (fruit, homemade yoghurt and bread, your choice of eggs) and dinner on request. The very friendly and efficient manager Maisha goes out of her way to make sure you've got everything you need. Having met other tourists on day trips who were staying in bigger hotels and struggling with service and upkeep of the rooms (Tobago is still on its way out of covid and recovering from the lack of tourism), we felt very lucky every time coming home to Kariwak. Maisha, Elvin and the team have done a fantastic job maintaining Kariwak to high standards and it's a genuine haven. Would stay again in an instant.…
The Kariwak village is in a great location and in wonderful setting, a feeling of peace and calm. The day can sometimes start with a Tai Chi or yoga session, we found the instructors to be extremely good and encouraging, and we really did not want to miss a class. Feeling refreshed, breakfast followed, which is both healthy and hearty and really sets you up for the day. The accommodation, we stayed poolside, is smashing – clean, fresh and comfortable (though a little more hanging space may be desired). While the pool was enticing, it was also nice to spend an afternoon lazing beside it, wandering along to the jacuzzi area or resting up in the hammocks in the colourful garden, which the hummingbirds visit. In our view, during our stay, it was noticeable that the whole of Tobago has been severely impacted by covid and subsequently a lack of tourism, especially in comparison to other Caribbean islands. That said, as ever, the people of Tobago are extremely welcoming and friendly and this most definitely applies to Maisha (Manager), Elvin (fantastic Chef) and the Kariwak Team. It may be some time before we travel back to Tobago, but for sure a third visit is on the cards. Without a second thought we would want to stay at Kariwak again, it has so much to offer and I’m keen to have the whole experience. The Crown Point location of Kariwak provides great beaches which are in easy walking distance, including Pigeon Point, together with a variety of bars and restaurants – all of which have a great atmosphere. We truly hope that tourism returns to Tobago – it is such a wonderful, beautiful and welcoming country. I would encourage others to visit this magical island and most definitely recommend a stay at Kariwak. Special thanks go to Maisha, who is keen to ensure that everyone has the best experience possible.…
I took my partner here as a treat and we had the best time. Maisha was so warm and welcoming and the customer service was excellent. Anything that we needed and any questions that we had were taken care of. The room was clean, and well kept and we were greeted with beautiful fresh Caribbean flowers arranged on the bed. It really looked exquisite when we entered the room. Breakfast was included and was absolutely delicious. Morning yoga was also included and was a great experience, my partner even tried it for the first time! I would highly recommend this hotel for its beautiful grounds and rooms, its convenient location (walking distance from beaches, shops, bars and restaurants), amazing staff and customer service and relaxing, welcoming atmosphere.
Amazing hospitality and peaceful surroundings. We were very well taken care of by Miss Maisha and the staff. They were very helpful and welcoming. Good, homemade food and morning yoga. I would absolutely recommend this place to stay.
My husband and I have been going to Kariwak for a few years now. It's one of our happiest places I'm Tobago! The beautiful grounds and amazing food keep bringing us back. Special thanks to Maisha for making our most recent stay so special, after being away for a few years!
I must say the customer service was on point. Miss Maisha was very welcoming and kind. My boyfriend and I stayed for his birthday and took the birthday package and I must say everything was well prepared and beautifully done. The service was excellent and the hotel’s atmosphere is absolutely breath taking. We’re we also given a complimentary hour late check out. Would definitely visit again.❤️
Lovely and serene ambiance with perfect proximity to the airport. Tasty and creative breakfast... please note at the time of stay the restaurant was closed for drinks, lunch and dinner due to low occupancy caused by COVID restrictions in particular, beach closure. I was informed of this long in advance and was able to make preparations to suit. I had a lovely peaceful and quiet stay and staff was vey professional. In spite of the challenges the resort has recently had to affront, the room was clean and grounds well maintained... same standard I knew from my previous visits. Maisha the manager is very pleasant, efficient and offers fluid communication and information as need be... what a gem in the customer service! I'll surely return one day God's willing!
Early morning dips in the jaccuzi and late dips in the pool was rejuvenating. The natural ambience and simplicity of the rooms and surroundings was excellent not to mention the hammock areas. Food was great and much thanks to staff member Maisha for all initial travel and onsite assistance in all matters. Much appreciated. Overall an all best stay . I left feeling much relaxed. Hopefully we will get back to normal soon for an even better time. Until next time .......
