This hotel is only 5 mins walk from the main center of Penafiel. My room was spacious and clean. Pleasant staff (including the barman much criticized in other reviews. The building is an attraction in itself.

Lovely room albeit with ceiling window (2nd floor), well-appointed bathroom with toiletries and multiheaded shower. OK breakfast. Nice courtyard and internal cloister. Can't comment on dinner as didn't try it. WiFi very poor

We stayed here for two nights. The room was spacious, with a mini-fridge and a safe. The bathroom was big and the shower looked impressive but didn't quite deliver as a power shower (but still fine). The hotel overall felt quite grand, with loads of seating areas, a restaurant and bar on site. It also had a pool, which was...

Rooms are quite common, spacious enough, but the most beautiful part of the hotel is the structure as it was a convent for the nuns of St. Clara cult. Didn't try the breakfast. Bed is comfortable, rooms are silent. the bathtub which serves as shower is a bit slippery. Average price.

This is an excellent hotel in almost every detail. Spacious rooms with everything you could need. There is just one bad weakness which has been picked up in earlier reviews. The barman! Normally in Spain the professionalism of bar and waiting staff is quite evident and impressive. This young man displayed a "couldn't care less" attitude and when we arrived...

July 13th to 17th 2016. The hotel is very impressive, situated close to the castle and a very short walk to the typically Spanish old town centre. The rooms are spotless and well maintained. The buffet breakfast typically spanish; Choritzo sausage, scambled egg, toast, doughnuts etc. What I liked the best was the location in this beautiful small town. What...

It's a lovely place to stay if over nighting in Penafiel as its location is right next to the river and you are a short walk into the old part of town. To explore the Castillo best drive up instead of walking. They have a bull fighting ring sometime in August in the town square which they were erecting the...

Hotel is very nice. Staff is simply great. Very professional and dedicated. Congratulations to all the team. Specially Erica, "Pepe" and Esther. I'm always taken care without missing home at all. Choose this hotel with no hesitation. Cod carpaccio + Verdejo glass of wine is one of my favourite choice.

This is a very centric hotel in Peñafiel especially well suited for a calm and relaxing couple weekend getaway. We appreciated the fact that the hotel has disco where you can enjoy a relaxing after-hours drink and possibly some dancing. The breakfast buffet menu is quite reasonable and well sorted. The rooms are very clean and spacious.

What a beautiful hotel, the grant cloister is a wonderful place to sit and read or while away the time waiting to meet friends. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. It was also a blessing to stay here for the breakfast, beautiful fresh fruit (we had been missing this on our visit to Madrid earlier in the week)....
