Detailed Reviews
Brilliant experience with fantastic staff who really made our stay. They helped organise a birthday surprise and also went out of their way to help us buy an SD card on the evening before our game drive when ours stopped working. The game drive and walking safari were both great, although the guides English wasn't the best and slightly more information on the animals and park would have been welcome. The accomodation was a permanent tent with electricity, comfy beds, hole-free mosquito nets and an attached simple bathroom with hot water. WiFi, charging points and soft drinks / beer / wine all available in the dining room. We loved the place and the people and would highly recommend.

We camped here for a few nights and also they offered to us a stay at one of the permanent tents for one night.
I felt the stay at Semadep Camp quite comfortable. Hot water was available and electricity is obtained with solar panels.
They also have a restaurant where they offer a nice buffet and a bonfire to sit around at night. During the day views are beautiful.
Fixed tents are cozy and have their own bathroom and shower.
They cared about the security, a Masai provided with a lance takes care of the place, bonfires were kept all nite along and the facility is fenced.
The Masai that work in this camp where always kind and helpful. Last day as our transport was too late they offered us tea and snacks while we were waiting. They are working hard to develope and run this camp.
The price is quite high, as everything around Masai Mara but still a good place to stay if you are on a budget.

My friend and I stayed at this camp for 3 nights in a permanent tent, 3 single beds. Great experience, the people are very genuine, super friendly. Let the water run for 5-10 mins for a very hot shower. Request a local guide from the camp for game drives 👍

+1
When we went to Kenya, we didn't quite know what to expect (by choice though) but Semadep Sunset Camp was a delight! The location is a bit difficult to access (think off-roading) but out driver and guide kept us informed (and borderline entertained) throughout. The location is fantastic, living up to its name. The sunset view is spectacular! They have food available on the dot. The options are limited, but we understood. The place is so far out in the woods. The caretakers were most understanding and forever helpful! They made Maggi for us when they realized we were a bit bored of their food! :-D
The overall safari package was fantastic (We stayed 4 days) and they even included a day at Nakuru Lake in the package. The beds were neat and comfortable. For a place in the middle of nowhere, it had free wifi and clean drinking water. The walking safari and the Masai village visit were AMAZING! The staff helped us get through most of our questions and difficulties. The masai storytelling session about their culture was a memorable event. As a family, we had a blast with them! The staff even got us the local brew called Maratina, which is made from te sausage tree. They were forever accommodative and encouraging.
In general, the people in Kenya can come across as if they're trying to make money off of you and Masai was no different but knowing how much thye go out of their way to make stay comfortable and enjoyable, we didn't mind :-) I'd go there again, in a heartbeat!

Our stay of one day was just great. Beautiful and spacious tent with a great view. The staff took very well care of us and the food was delicious, especially for a vegetarian. The game drive they organized was awesome and they brought the best brekkie we could ask for. We saw alot of animals and learned alot about the masai. I would definitely recommend Semadep Mara camp when visiting Masai Mara.

Really nice place! Nice staff, we loved it!
The area is very calm and you have a good view on the landscape. Oke of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen so far.
On the day we did a game drive to the safari. The staff were very helpful and we just needed to tell them when we want to go.

We spent 2 nights, had our safari to Masai Mara, and enjoyed 2 of their short tours, with a pick-up and drop-off (all arranged with the team). They provided super professional service on a budget.
Would never forget their smiles and kind hospitality.

I stayed for three nights at Semadep and really enjoyed the quiet, peaceful setting. It is located just minutes from the Sekenani Gate of Masai Mara National Reserve and served as a perfect base camp. Grace, Isaac, James, Chef Mike, and all of the other staff made it such a memorable experience. The food was excellent, accommodations comfortable, and the service exceptional!

Excellent location overlooking the Mara. Comfy tented rooms with hot shower, sink, toilet.
Dining room & outdoor seating in extensive grounds.
Staff very helpful.
Food good, but no choice.
Cold drinks, inc beers available.
Sunset views.
Drive from main road extremely rough. A good 4x4 necessary, which you need for the Mara anyway.
Electricity via generator not 24hrs. No sockets in rooms.

I loved everything about this place.
First of all, with the money from the camp, they support a local school. The hosts are the most welcoming and nice.
The place is run by local Masai so it is a great local authentic experience just being there. We had a nice chat in the evening with Izak who told us a lot about Maasai culture. Very cool.
I loved the beautiful, spacious tent with the most beautiful view of the valley. We also saw zebras there in the morning. The tends are very clean.
The food is simple but freshly made and delicious!
We also booked a one-day safari at the camp. With Traditional Masai Safari and Cultural Tours. Julius and Jackson, we're our guides and driver. Highly recommend this safari as it was wonderful and we saw many animals.
The camp is just a 3min drive to Sekenani gate. So basically just in front of the national park. As it is outside it makes it cheaper, but you still get the real atmosphere of being in the park.
