We visited Masai Mara and stayed here for three nights. Excellent hospitality, excellent food and the all the staffs were humble. Till now the best hospitality I have seen and experienced. I will recommend everyone to stay here if you are visiting Masai Mara. I would like to thank all the staffs. Special thanks to Saruni Lalgrt Morris Christine People who are visiting this place in future may get in touch with them and you can experience excellent hospitality which you might not have experienced before.
Long tricky drive to get there. Food just about average; not too many options to choose from. Another tricky drive to get the Maasai Mara reserve – Would be much better if it was nearer to the main attraction. The hospitality is good, nothing to complain about that. The Maasai guys offer escort and security to the rooms. The rooms are also about average with a few hiccups that was sorted out.
The lodge is beautiful with large bar and dining areas, decorated with exquisite wooden furniture. It is really in the middle of nature and Maasai land. Service was very attentive. When entering the area, we were greeted by Maasai warriors with a song, and the same people were watching our lodge at night to keep us safe from wild animals. We also enjoyed the bush dinner here and were happy to learn a lot about Maasai culture. Food was tastier than in any other lodge that we visited. The only downside is that it’s about a half an hour drive from the nearest gate to Maasai Mara, and at least our driver was not too happy about the condition of the road - we even got stuck a couple of times.
We arrived to the lodge after a rather tricky drive along tracks that had been severely eroded due to the rains. We enjoyed a lovely Maasai welcome dance before being shown to our circular tented accommodation, named 'Superb'. We was clean and basic with a large bathroom area. We had a lovely lunch before heading out for our first Maasai safari. The dining area has unique wooden tables and chairs and the circular bar is the only location for the WIFI. This lodge is a fair distance from the Maasai Mara Park, and doesn't have the best road either. Its a mud track basically and we had quite a trip negotiating the track for the 2 nights we stayed here. In my opinion this lodge needs to have more financial input so that it is brought up to a higher standard. It was not my favourite of lodges we stayed on our trip. The service we received could not be faulted, all staff were extremely accommodating and the buffet meals were very good. We had Masaai entertainment one night with dancing from the staff. Very enjoyable.…
Tobixo and team made sure we had an incredible experience in the Mara. They prepared custom meals for us and also learned how to make masala chai! The tents were gorgeous and we woke up to the most beautiful sounds of the forest. The Masais stayed up all night to make sure we slept safely and soundly. Thank you Explore Nature Mara!
We had a great time with the whole family in this lodge. Dickson, Francis and the whole Masai team gave us the best possible hospitality. We especially enjoyed the authentic bush dinner, which they prepared for us. The accommodation has a real African charm.
The people made this place great. We stayed for two nights, and on the second night two of the staff plus a summer worker hung out and played cards with us in the common area. It was fun to get to know them and relax after a long day! Be prepared with small bills because service is over the top and people seem to expect tips (this seemed to be the case on our whole trip). They wouldn't allow us to carry our own bags to our room, and instead had 6 Masai warriors carry our 3 bags. Like I said, over the top service, but they were friendly at least. One night we had a Bush dinner which was delicious and a fun time.
The staff and the Masai warriors were so helpful and welcoming (especially Dixon!). It is a long, bumpy journey to the Mara, but well worth it. You will see so many animals! Because the Mara is quite isolated, power is supplied to all the lodges by generator, but this isn't a big deal. The food was excellent, with lots of variety to each meal. Our tent was very comfortable, and had an attached bathroom.
We stayed 3 nights in Feb . The staff are exceptional. The Chef prepared a variety of delicious meals for us in the mornings and evenings . They sent us out with nice box lunches so we could picnic during our game drives. The accomodations are not luxurious, but they are clean, relaxing and very comfortable. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to make it a memorable stay. Thank you!
I stayed at Explore Nature Mara lodge in August 2017 and again in October 2018. This is a small boutique tented lodge that definitely stands leagues above other budget tented lodges near Masai Mara. There are only 11 tents spread in a huge area giving you lot of privacy and this camp is bordered by a stream that separates it from Masai mara. From your tent, you have views of the great mara plains. Tents are much bigger than some of the mid range tented camps I have stayed at! Staff here is great! Masais performed their traditional dance after our dinner and it was exciting! Internet connectivity is good in common areas but it doesn't reach tents. There is no cell phone signal reception in the rooms as well. So if they can provide wifi at rooms, that would be amazing!
