Blanket Bay was one of the best stops on our trip round NZ. We were fortunate enough to spend 4 days here relaxing at the end. What set it apart from many other hotels was a) how few rooms it has and consequently b) how much time the staff have to just chat to you. We felt like one of...

We were blown away as soon as we drove into the estate. The hotel was absolutely incredible - beautifully designed with amazing views of the lake. The level of detail was impeccable and despite the grand scale, it felt warm and comfortable. Because the hotel only had a few rooms, we felt like we were guests in someone's home. The...

One of the most, if not the most, incredible property, lodge, decor and food! The owners of Blanket Bay and the staff are attentive to any and all of your needs. Drinks and appetizers in the bar are delicious and they will modify your choice of appetizers if you have any dietary restrictions. The dinners and wine are amazing! There...

Located about 45 minutes south of Queenstown, and situated on a gorgeous lake nestled between towering mountains, the setting is from a picture book. The resort has a 3 story main lodge with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the lake and mountains. Every detail perfectly and tastefully accents an upscale luxury hunting/fishing theme. The cottages have fireplaces, spacious...

We stayed in a chalet / cottage which I would rec. because it has an incredible view. The level of detail in the chalet is amazing and the service from the moment you step into the property is out of this world. The staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. It is so clear that everyone involved in the running of...

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the staff, Blanket Bay was breathtaking. Our suite had an awe inspiring view and fantastic luxury. Nothing was overlooked, from the surprise in our room for our anniversary, the heated tile floor, to the fisherman's lunch that was made for us for a day of hiking. We will be back.

Magical setting, unbelievable beauty in the detail of the Lodge, staff hits a home run, meals were the best of our three week trip in New Zealand...we think it deserves a few more stars. It's truly a once in a lifetime experience and if we ever make it back to NZ, we will make it a repeat and stay longer!...

Blanket Bay is spectacularly gorgeous, sitting outside of Queenstown on the lake, the views are amazing. The rooms are luxurious and spacious, and very cozy. Decor of the entire place invites relaxing and enjoyment. The staff is the most helpful in any place I've ever been arranging many excursions, packed lunches for hike and more. The food is exceptionally good...

Perhaps the most spectacular location that we stayed at during our honeymoon. Breathtaking views accompanied by an amazingly charming and accommodating staff. Fantastic meals and a truly relaxing experience, we could not have asked for much more. Also so many sheep. You just gotta love the sheep. [no sheep actually in the lodge]

Enjoying a drop of NZ's finest in the Great Room replete with leather sofas and stone fireplace is as every bit as grand as the natural scenery that surrounds it. Scenic overload is what the femme calls this place. A helicopter lands on the lawn and whisks us up for a few hours of fjord- and -glacier spotting. In the...
