What a gem in Hirafu. Incredibly well located - easy access to ski schools, supermarket, restaurants and cafes. Small hotel with a nice personal touch, good-sized rooms and stylish interiors. In the same property are Niseko Pizza, Ennishi Japanese and a massage centre! Amazing! Thank you John at the front office!
We stayed at J-Sekka from end of March to beginning April on the 3rd floor apartment. It had a gorgeous view, very modern and clean. The only gripe was there were no lifts and we had to lug our luggage up 3 floors. Luckily I packed quite lightly this time, as there was a washing machine. Short walk to all restaurants, ski rentals and Hirafu Family Quad lift.
J-Sekka is the best run hotel in the Niseko area. It is close to all activities including skiiing. The management and its staff are more than happy to accommodate and anticipate their guests’ wishes. Nothing is out of reach. The staff speaks impeccable English. The rooms are fully equipped for families and couples alike. This is not only a boutique hotel, but one which is the admiration of chain branded hotels. A visit to Niseko would be amiss without a stay at this boutique hotel. The view from the rooms of the surrounding mountains is simply breathtaking and spectacular. It is a backdrop reminiscent of films. Quintessentially the best hotel in Niseko by far. Again, it’s not only the view, and accommodation but their staff that is eager to please that sets it apart from the rest. A stay here would not go amiss. …
Really loved staying at this centrally located hotel and all the support of Ski Japan! We are hoping to return as soon as December of this year. The staff was friendly and always helped us arrange dinners, activities, and anything else we needed.
Booking was very stressful and took more than 20 mails and 3 days of threats of cancellation from skijapan.com, before the case was escalated to management at skijapan.com and we were finally allowed to pay the listed price + listed fees, without further threats of cancellation from skijapan.com. Seems trivial that the listed price + listed fees is the price you are supposed to pay. Not at skijapan.com, unless you want to spend stressful days complaining to them. Once you get past the terror of skijapan.com customer service and payment process, the actual hotel is very nice and well worth the money. Actually a 5 star experience and my 3 star review is only because of the stress of paying for the booking. At the hotel we even got an extra bedding for free- maybe as compensation, maybe they were just being nice. Not sure - but appreciated. So if you get through the payment gateway from hell, J-Sekka is much recommended !…
J Sekka is not ski in, ski out... but this is literally the best location you could ask for. Well appointed accommodations, right above a Pizza restaurant, next to a massage place, a few bars, and more. Just a short walk to the slopes and Rhythm for all of your other needs. Staff was also very helpful, no complaints and would definitely book again.
You need to add a small breakfast table. And the bed was extremely hard but staff provided an extra thin mattress so that was solved. Otherwise we liked the room very much and we will most probably come back next year.
Location was everything, across the road from the family charge and in the center of town, you can’t get a better location than this. Accommodation was clean, and everything we needed. Huge comfortable bathroom and an adequate kitchen.
J-Sekka is currently managed by Ski Japan and initially the person who managed the booking left a slightly sour taste. However, when we arrived at J-Sekka, we couldn't be more thankful for the facilities and convenient location (near to the Ace family lift, seico mart, ski rental places, restaurants and cafes). The 1-bedroom apartment (we stayed in suite A1) was very big for 3 persons and the facilities are good. I really appreciate how there is a washing machine to wash clothes, although it does not have a quick wash function and only has a standard wash. They also have a stove if one desires to cook. One not so good thing about A1 was that it smelled of food as there was an exhaust pipe near the windows. But that is the only con and we just had to keep the windows closed all the time. The staff at the reception are nice and friendly and did help out with suggestions as to where to go for restaurants or onsen. J-Sekka also has a ski locker where you can store your ski stuff, which I deem as a requirement especially in Niseko. I would love to return to J-Sekka again if I do come back to Hirafu as it is one of the most convenient places without having to break the wallet as much as a ski-in,ski-out hotel. Kudos to the staff of Ski Japan!…
So much room for 2 people! Booked a 1 bedroom apartment, but would do a study next time. Beautifully appointed. Great location (not quite ski in ski out, but you pay for that!) Easy walk to the chair lift. Pizza restaurant downstair, and lovely cafe next door with plenty of other food options within easy walk. Huge kitchen, lounge and dining area in apartment. Separate toilet which is always a plus! Big bath and shower in wet room. Laundry area to wash clothes handy. Definitely would stay again!
